Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello! I am back today with the share between Debbie and I. It is one of the weeks that we had a choice between square or round. This week, we both went "round"! I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!

Debbie's Card

The Sketch

When I first looked at the sketch, I thought it seemed like a strange place to put a bow.  But, once I got to working on it, I found I really like that little addition.  What do you think?  Which card is your favorite?

I worked on the card for the church friend I told you about on Thursday, but I have gotten it finished yet.  I will show the finished card to you on Monday.  I am off to Waxahachie to teach today.  Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Smile ... It's Purple and Blingy!

Hello!  Sorry you haven't seen me this week.  I told you I would try to get the next class samples done over the weekend so I could show them to you on Monday.  Well, I did work on them and completely finished two of the three.  The third one is almost finished, except for one important detail.  You see there is a new honeycomb pad color combo that I "thought" I bought at the store, just for this class.  Well, come to find out, I bought solid red instead of the red/white combo.  Now, the red would work fine, but I just have to use the new product on my card!  So, when I get what I need to finish it, I will be able to show you all three of my class cards for October.  Until then, I do have one new card to show you.  On Monday night I took a little break from my class prepping to make a birthday card for my stepdaughter.  I inked up one of my favorite stamps ...that adorable bunny sitting in the flowers from The Cat's Pajamas.  Which leads me to wonder why I just have to have so many different stamps when I often use the same ones over and over?  Well, if you love this hobby as much as I do, you know there is no one answer to this question.  Let me show you my card.  Enjoy!

The sketch was a CASE from one of my favorite designers, Jen delMuro.  I went hunting for the correct post so I could give credit to her.  Check out her card here.  Oh, one note about all the purple ... Stephanie, the recipient, loves purple and I figure everyone likes bling, especially on their birthday!  Right?  Those blingy flowers were ones I got at least a year ago.  They had a yellow rhinestone in the middle.  And I thought ... why couldn't I change the rhinestone and make them work for this card?  Maybe I will be more apt to use them now, with this very simple idea!  What do you think?  Does this bunny in purple and bling make you smile?

Recipe:

Paper - Black glittered dots paper is from Doodlebug Designs, Tiny Purple Dot is from Bo Bunny (new 6 x 6 pad!), Cardstock White, Black (was planning to do a white base, but decided black was a better fit!)
Stamps - The Cat's Pajamas Kick Some Grass set
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Tools - My Favorite Things Dainty Dots border Die-namics, The Cat's Pajamas Button Flowers Cut-Ups die
Other - Flowers from ? (they are in a small silver tin), Small purple rhinestones, lime green rhinestones from Queen & Co. called Twinkle Goosebumps

One of the ladies from church has asked me to make a special card for her, so if I get that done before Saturday, I will be back with that one.  And I will see you Saturday for the share.

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another share between Debbie and I.  Let's get right to it.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
At first glance, I thought this sketch looked too simple for my taste.  But, after working with it, I decided I liked it.  It is simple, but kinda fun too!  Debbie's card followed the size of the panels a little better than mine, as I had to make my oval larger, because of the stamp I picked.  I love how both of them came out!  Don't you?

Next week is my class prepping and teaching week.  I also have to get to making my October's class samples because I am moving the October class date up a week, because of the cruise Donna and I are going on!  If I get the class samples done this weekend, I will post those on Monday.  It would be great to also have time to make a few other cards to show you through the week, but we'll have see it how it goes!

See you soon!  Have a great weekend!

Wishing You Hope!

Hello!  Today's card is a sympathy card.  The person that passed was someone I knew from my singles group that I belonged to through the Methodist church before I married.  I made it to send to his wife.  I don't know her well, so I wanted it to be simple.  On my desk, was a stack of blue squares and white crosses that were both leftover from when the church bookmarks got made, so I decided to incorporate them into my card.  You know I rarely make square cards, but I love how this one came out.  Let me show you.  Enjoy!

Don't you love the rectangle die I used?  I also loved that I stamped the sentiment on one of the papers that had flowers lightly printed on it.  So pretty ... you agree?

Recipe:
Paper - Teresa Collins 6 x 6 Sweet Afternoon, Cardstock White, Light Blue
Stamps - Impression Obsession Sympathy Sentiments
Ink - Memento Black
Tools - Spellbinders Decorative Rectangles, Crosses Two
Other - Rhinestones

See you tomorrow for the Saturday Sketch Share!

Thank You Masculine Style!

Hello!  I made a very simple style masculine card.  I don't know if anyone ever sends their doctors cards or not, but I am going to do it anyway.  You see, I have gone to the same gyn doctor for over 30 years, but since we now live two hours away, I finally made the decision to change to a new doctor.  The new doctor's office will be requesting my records.  But, I thought I would like to send a note myself.  So, that I what I made today's card for.  I wanted it to be simple in style.  Let me show you.  Enjoy!

Remember on last Saturday's sketch, they placed the baubles horizontally and I commented I liked it... well, I guess it really made an impact because I have done it on my card here!  Simple, huh?  Do you like?

Recipe:

Paper - Authentique 6 x 6 Loyal collection, Cardstock Natural White, Blue Gray
Stamps - Verve With Love set
Ink - Memento Black
Tools - Spellbinders Lables 4 and 18, Classic Oval
Other - Rhinestones

I'll be back with another card sometime tomorrow.
Happy Stamping!

I'm Here When You Need Me ...!

Hello!  I realized I have a card I made a couple of weeks ago that I haven't shown you yet, so I want to do that today.  I got the stamp from a friend that was selling some of her stamps cheap.  It is a really big stamp, bigger than I like to work with, but when I saw it, I had just the person in mind to send it to.  Because it is such a big stamp, I made it a square card and I made it an easel card.  Let me show you ... enjoy!

Oh my, do you not love the big 'ole paper pieced chair?  Do you see I tried to make the shadows of the chair with a gray Copic?  I love the way it turned out!  How about you?

Recipe:

Paper - Memory Box 6 x 6 set called Minuet, Cardstock White, Light Blue
Stamps - Stamping Bella Uptown Girl Perry on her laptop
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Tools - none ... shhh ... no dies this time!
Other - Pearls

I am off to Dallas today to have lunch with my friend, Kelly, that I have known since 7th grade.  See you tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!

Thinking of You!

Hello!  Before I get to the card I have for you today, I know you are wondering how much I sold at the garage sale last weekend!  Well, my total after their percentage was taken out ended up being $212.80, which means that out of $900 worth of stuff I took to the sale, I sold $264, which is almost 1/3.  At first, I was a little disappointed that not more sold, but now I think a better way of looking at it would be that I now have $200 more than I had before, and 1/3 of the stuff is GONE!  Woo Hoo!  I think they are going to try to do another one in the spring, so I will try again!  I got to my room to play a little yesterday because I knew I had better get to the Sketch For You To Try card for this month.  I have participated in every month, and I don't want to not follow through, especially since the year is almost over!  So, let me show you my card and this month's sketch.  Enjoy!

I think there needs to be a Pure Innocence Stamp Addiction group, because I have so many of these adorable stamps, and if I am somewhere and I see what I don't already have, I buy it!  I have about 6 that I haven't even inked up yet ...now that is bad!  I remember when they first came out and I fretted about which one I should get, as I was thinking that I wouldn't want more than a couple of different ones ... yea, right!  Tell me that now!  Anyway, this one is new to me, however, I think it has been out for a while.  It is a nice simple sketch, but it made a very simple but wonderful card.  What do you think?

Recipe:

Paper - Echo Park This & That 6 x 6 pad, Cardstock White, Pale Yellow
Stamps - MFT Pure Innocence Because You're Special
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Tools - Verve A Cut Above Pennant Trim die (I love this die!)
Other - Pearls by Queen & Co.

I have a couple more cards for you this week.  So, stop back by!

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello! I am happy to tell you that I got everything marked off my list this week, including the class samples, the pricing of the ex-Imprints inventory, the 150 bookmarks I was making for my church's celebration, and my card for the share today! So, let's get to it! I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I think this was a fun sketch.  Anytime I can use some of my Prima flowers, I am thrilled!  I love how Debbie put paper thru the loops of the border punch she used.  I would have never thought to do that!  And you know what else I like that they did on the sketch that was so simple?  I love how the three baubles are horizontal instead of vertical.  What do you think?  Do you like the sketch, the cards?

As you are reading this, I am walking in a parade with Donna representing Blue Star Mothers and the support of our troops.  Have a great weekend!

September Class Share!

Hello! I finished my sample cards for my next class today, so I wanted to pop in and share them with you. If you followed my links to the Inky Antics site during the month of August, you probably saw two of the cards already. But they are somewhat different, as I did have to remake them with papers that The Crafty Scrapper sells. So, I guess you could say they have been revamped! That is a fancy term! I also have one other that you have not seen. So, let me show you the cards for my next class, which is only two weeks away. Enjoy!

The honeycomb pop up cards are a class favorite, so I knew the girls would want to make two of the newest designs with the adorable witch and the squirrel.  I love how Bo Bunny came out with the perfect paper to just match the squirrels and their acorns!  Too perfect.  The third card is a card from an idea I saw on Pinterest.  It is made kinda like a joy fold card but this time the folds are created with two different Spellbinders dies.  I love how all the cards came out.  Remember, even if you can't come or do not live close, you can let me know, I can always send you a kit.  Here are the details, in case you are interested.

Popping into Fall - Wed. Sept.26 - 11 a.m. and Sept. 29 - 2:30 p.m. $25
Come celebrate the fall season with two adorable honeypop creations, one for
Halloween and one for fall.  You will also make one additional unique and
creative fall card.  Please bring detailed scissors, adhesive to include a glue
stick, your preferred coloring medium (copics, colored pencils, etc.)  All other
supplies provided.

Tomorrow is the day that I will be taking all the boxes to The Crafty Scrapper for their garage sale they are having this Friday night and Saturday.  OMG, I think I have 12 boxes full of my ex-Imprints inventory and everything is DIRT CHEAP!  I have also heard that there are at least 29 others signed up to bring stuff, so if you are a crafter and you like bargains, put your travel shoes on and make your way to Waxahachie, Texas!

This week I also have to finish the church bookmarks and get them to the church by Friday.  So, in case you are wondering where I am, that is what is going on.  See you soon!

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello! I am doing the happy dance today ... my stamp shack is CLEAN! Well, as much as you can expect from a room that is packed with so much stuff, but that is another story! It took me most of yesterday to do it, probably because I had let it get so bad, but at least right now the piles are put away, the floor is swept, and I can see the surfaces! On another note, I just got a message from Donna. As you know, her son, my Godson, is a Marine and has been in Afghanistan, but he is on his way to the USA! That is another great reason for the happy dance! And yet another reason, is what you came to see today, the share. Let's do it! I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!

The Sketch
I have done this sketch in the past, in fact, I think I did it in a class for Father's Day.  But, this time, I knew I wanted some nice, bright colors.  I like this sketch and I love both of the cards.  How about you?

Now that my room is clean, I have to get the class samples made TODAY!  It is a must!  Should have that share for you in a couple of days!  So, see you soon!

Happy Stamping!

Birthday Wishes with Mojo!

Hello! I am happy to say I did get out to my stamp shack recently to get the Saturday share card made and I also got one more made so that I could do a post for you today. I wanted to maybe do another card with my new Verve haul. Going thru blogs I frequent, I noticed the new Mojo Monday's sketch look fun and challenging, so that is what I used. So, let me show you my card and then I will also show you the sketch. Enjoy!

When I saw the sketch, I thought of the flowers in one of the sets I got and knew they would be perfect.  Did you see instead of the scallop I had to use the pennant trim again?  My new favorite!  This sketch was a bit of a challenge to get all the patterns to work together.  I originally was thinking the florals would be the base panel as well, but it was way too busy that way, so I redid it and now I love it!  What do you think?

Recipe:

Paper - Floral paper is from Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer line: "Simple Pleasures", Yellow dot paper is from My Minds Eye Lost & Found Two line: backside of Rosey Love Blossoms, Cardstock Red, Natural White
Stamps - Verve: Flower from Wonderfully Made, Sentiment from Boderline
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Tools - Pennant Trim from Verve A Cut Above Dies, Spellbinders Circle, Scallop Circle, Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder, Paper Piercer and Stampin'up Piercing Template
Other - Rhinestones

I am still working on the bookmarks for the church event and the pricing on all the stuff I am putting in
The Crafty Scrapper's Hoarders Ultimate Garage Sale.  And, I have to get my card samples made for my September class, which I said I was going to do last week, but still haven't gotten to it.  And ... omg ... you should see my stamp shack room, it is beyond messy!  I have to get it somewhat cleaned up or it will totally ZAP my creativity!  So, that is what is going on with me.  If I don't see you tomorrow, I will see you on Saturday.

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I looked up to see how long Debbie, and sometimes Donna, and I have been doing the Saturday sketch shares.  75 Weeks!  Wow!  There have been times when I have thought ... that is one great sketch and it should be in a list of "go-to's"!  So, I spent some time this week, going through the 75 weeks of posts looking at the cards I made and the sketches.  I came up with a list of "go-to's" that I will share with you later in this post.  There are 24 of them.  Now, my go -to's might not be yours, but I figure, a lot of them will be and maybe you would enjoy seeing a bunch of great sketches all in one place.  Now, let's get to today's cards.  This was one of the round/square choice days and this time both Debbie and I went with the round choice.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!
My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch

I had a hard time making either card's coloring come out on the computer.  Sorry for this.  Look closely at Debbie's card.  Can you see that her embellishment is a smashed beer lid and that it says "the perfect summer"?  She covered up the word beer with the cute little crab embellishment!  That is recycling at it's best!  And very creative!  We were both thinking "summer" when we making our cards!  Love it!  The papers I used were scraps from my class kits that I put together the previous week.  That would only be possible on such a small card.  But it worked!  What do you think ... do you like our round summer cards?

Here is the pics of my favorite "go-to's" of the sketches we have completed in the last 75 weeks ...

Now, pick one of these and go challenge yourself.  After all it is a holiday weekend, right?  You should take time for yourself!

Hope to see you next week!
Happy Stamping!
