Howdy!

Hello!  End of the month, so I was thinking I need to get caught up on anything that I have made but haven't shared here.  I made this card in January for the grandsons birthday.  Frankly, I am not very crazy about the card.  I think that is why I have never written the post to share it with you.  But, I got to thinking that this blog is as much for me as you and if I make it, I share it ...no matter if I like it or not!  So, here it is ... enjoy?!

 

 

 

 

He is really into western stuff and that is why I went with this card.  He is a guy and money was inside, so probably he didn't even pay attention to the card or care.  Looking at it now, I don't think it is too bad, if I had left the "howdy" sentiment off!  What do you think?

Crafty Cutts Dies Samples Share 3 of 3!

Hello!  Third day, third card.  If you missed the last two days, make sure you check them out.  I have been showing three cards that I made for the owner of The Crafty Scrapper to showcase six new dies that she recently got in at the store.  She wanted me to make some cards to show "what they do".  This one I got a little lazy ... and what I mean by that is that there are no stamps ... shhh ... don't tell the "stamping police"!  Hee, Hee!  Anyway, it really was supposed to showcase the dies, right?  For this card, on the front I created a little vellum envelope to show off the Never Ending Crafty Cutts die from Inky Antics and on the inside, I have used the Exploding Pop-Out die from Art Gone Wild.  Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

Above I showed you photos of how they look each time they are refolded.  And below is the die that created it.  Note on the die below, it also cuts out some elements like flowers and scallops to be used on the card or any card.  Always happy to have more die cut flowers ...what a great bonus.  The inside is shown above and the die below.  Easy to make this cool "pop-out explosion".  I am doing a card with this one in my class I am teaching this week.  Hands on is always the best!  

I am doing one of each of these dies every month in my classes.  (5 to go!)  Anyway, you know that if I make it, I share it, no matter what.  This set of cards (from the last 3 days) was made a few weeks ago and I wanted to share them before too much time had passed.

Crafty Cutts Dies Samples Share 2 of 3!

Hello!  I am back with the second card I made for The Crafty Scrapper to show the workings of the two of the dies they got in the store.  If you missed it, yesterday's post has more information.  The card for today, has the Square Cage die on the front of the card from Inky Antics and on the inside, the Standing Pot Out die by Art Gone Wild.   Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

I gave you two photos of the front, so that you can see how when the twine is pulled, the square cage comes up and the inside sentiment is revealed.  Also, below you will find the photos of the two dies.   The inside die is unique with the little "stage" it creates.  But, unlike yesterday's card where the pop ups can be placed anywhere, this die has four holes in which to create the "stage".  With my card, I only used three pop-ups, so I simply covered the fourth hole.

Crafty Cutts Dies Samples Share 1 of 3!

Hello!  A few weeks ago, I was asked by Carolyn, the store owner of The Crafty Scrapper to make some cards showing how the six Crafty Cutts dies work, that she ordered from Art Gone Wild and Inky Antics.  I originally were going to make six cards, but then I realized that the three dies from Art Gone Wild are for the insides of the cards and the three dies from Inky Antics are for the outsides.  That is when I decided to only make three cards combining two dies, one on the outside and one on the inside for each card.  I do want to note that I took no pictures before I left the house and so all the card photos were taken at the store where the lighting is not so good.  But, I think it is good enough for you to get the idea about them.  Also, I am splitting the three cards into three days!  Today's card features on the front Inky Antics Card Loom Die and on the inside Art Gone Wild's Rectangle Squares Die ... enjoy!

 

Below you will see photos of the two dies.  The first one is the one on the front and you will see it simply cuts lines!  But, the key is very straight lines, perfectly spaced!  At the show, Jackie was showing us how they used quilling strips because they are the perfect diameter of 1/4".  But, I used scrapbook paper instead and I love this effect.  I have an idea for an Easter class card.  (FYI: I am doing one die each month in my classes).  Tip for this die is a very important tool ... a bamboo stick!  By weaving the stick through, you can easily add your strips of paper.  The inside die is also below.  It is a great die because when you cut it out, you get 4 sizes of pop-ups.  See that I used them all in my card above, but the placement of these "little helpers" are endless.

Hello!  The card I have for you today is one that Donna and I made 20 of just alike that we will be taking tonight to the Blue Star Mother's meeting.  Each card will go into one of the boxes that everyone will be packing to send to our troops!  It has been awhile since we got to make some fun patriotic cards and this is one is definitely "fun"!  I got this great set of clear stamps at the last stamp convention from Sweet Stamps.  I love this guy ... let me show you ... enjoy!

 

 

 

 

Isn't he a hoot?  He just makes me smile.  We also got to use some great patriotic scrapbook paper from Doodlebug Designs that I had a friend get for me last year.  We found a nice sketch on pinterest that we liked and went with it.  It took us a few hours to make the 20 cards but we enjoyed it.  On our way to the Blue Star Mother's meeting we have to stop by The Crafty Scrapper and pick up what they collected for us to send to the troops.  When they do their garage sales, they allow people to come and shop on Friday night if they bring 3 items off the list of things the troops need.  And I hear they had a lot of people Friday night and collected a lot.  So awesome!  So, I made a card to take tonight for the ladies to sign so that we can send it back to the store to say "thanks".  Here is the card I made ... enjoy!

 

 

I got to use some stamps from Unity that I got sometime last year.  Pretty simple, but I like how it came out.  What do you think of the two cards today?

This is my teaching week which means I shouldn't take the time for this but I have several cards that I haven't shown you, so I am in the middle of writing those posts for you.

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  Today I have two posts for you.  I have another card creation on The Crafty Scrapper's blog and of course this weekly post for the share.  So, when you have finished this one, be sure to scroll down to see the copied post from The Crafty Scapper's blog.  This week was another sketch choice between square and circle.  And this time, both Debbie and I went square and the same small size: 4 1/4" square.  I love doing this size because it fits into an A-2 size envy, however, sometimes, like this sketch, there is alot going on for such little space.  But, I still love how both came out.  I hope you do too.  Let me show you. ... Sorry you have not seen me this week.  However, I have been creating.  I finished a really cool project for The Crafty Scrapper's design team, in which they gave us all a bag of "stuff" to make something with.  We had to use everything in the bag but could add items as well.  I went way out of my box and made something 3D from scratch.  I can't wait to share with you, but I have to wait until they put in on the store's blog first.  And then I also finished my latest group of design team's cards, one of which is on their blog today (don't forget to scroll down to see it here on my blog). And Donna and I got together on Thursday and made 20 cards to take to the Blue Mother's meeting on Monday night to put in the boxes that we will be sending to the troops.  I will show you that card on Monday.  Oh, also one whole day I spent repricing wood mounted stamps left over from my store to take to the store's garage sale ...which is going on RIGHT NOW.  I am staying away so I won't have more money owed on the credit card!  I made the prices very low this time, so if they still don't sell, well, maybe it is time to donate!  Got my fingers crossed I sell some!

Hello Starburst!

Below is the copy of the post that is on The Crafty Scrapper's blog today. In the one for the store, I didn't give any direction on making the starburst because they only want me to do that if I am doing an actual tutorial.  But, here on my blog, it is easy for me to share the link on how to make it.  Shannon is a local and her step by step is very easy to follow.  Basically, you just cut your paper at 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" and cut diagonally to create the pieces to make your starburst!  Easy, peasy!   So, there you have it ... now go make you a starburst card!

Hello, it's Tina here today to share with you another card creation using wonderful products from The Crafty Scrapper! 

I was so excited to see such pretty papers in my design team kit this month.  I decided I needed to find the perfect design to really show them off.  This easy to make starburst design does the trick! I also got to use some favorite dies from My Favorite Things.  In my style of card making, I almost always add a sentiment to the front of the card.  I liked the "hello friend" sentiment because that way this card could be for multiple occasions.  I love how it came out.  I hope you do too!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  I have a lot of quotes, verses, and sentiments already on my Pinterest board to choose from, but I couldn't resist going to look for just a few more!  This one really jumped out at me.  It is similar to ones that I have seen in the past (and even have in stamps) with multiple sentences about how to live your life, but this one was new to me.  Maybe it is to you too ...enjoy!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

You Make My Heart Skip A Beat!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I am here today to share the card I made for my hubby for Valentine's day.  I did a"case" of my own sketch, from one of the cards in my last class.  The stamp I got a while back from an online order to Unity (it was a sale!).  I ordered this one especially for Gary, and have been holding on to it to ink it for the right occasion.  For those of you who don't know, my hubby is a music collector and has lp's, 45's, cd's from floor to ceiling on every wall in his room.  Plus, he buys and sells daily.  So, as you will see the image I got is so perfect for him!  Let me show you my card ... enjoy!

I did my whole card background before I added the main image.  At first, I thought maybe my background was too busy to really show off the image, but I decided to just go with it!  Also, the little music notes were part of the main image and they were attached at the top right corner.  But, I thought I could put them to better use if they were a separate image ...so, I just cut them off.  I think it did help when I added the little circles of notes in two places.  I like how it came out.  I hope he does too!

Friends in My Garden!

Hello!  Getting the class card samples done, makes me feel so less stressed.  I still have to finish the design team cards and project but at least I can feel like I got to take some off my list.  The card I am showing today also was a mark off my list.  A good friend's birthday was the same week that I taught and so, I didn't get to her card, but I promised it was coming.  It actually got sent last week, just a week late, not too bad.  I knew I hadn't shared it with you yet and so I want to do that today.  It is a little different from my normal style.  I keep buying all those fancy, decorative labels dies from Spellbinders because I see all those awesome cards that people create with them.  Especially how they make the card base from the die. Let me show you my card, I then I will give you more details, instructions and links for this card.  Enjoy!



In the past, I have tried this tutorial, but I use such heavy cardstock that doubling it just will not go through my Big Shot.  In fact, I was trying to do this very thing, when I broke my last Big Shot!  Then, a couple of weeks ago, I found a different idea on this blog.  (Scroll down to card three and the instructions are below).  On this one, they used Scrapbook Adhesive's Crafty Power Tape, which I do not own, but will be on the look out for, so that I can check it out.  I decided to try their idea with scor-tape.  It worked!  (But, still this other adhesive might be thinner?) So, basically, you put the tape on the cardstock and put the top of the die right over it, so that when you run it through, you have the frame die cut out with adhesive on it.  She also added a score line across the top of the card.  Then when you add the second die cut to match and they adhere together, the score on the back panel allows it to swing open.  Here is the photo of the back view and the inside.

Sometimes it is hard to explain things, so go check out the link, as she has pictures, and try it out for yourself!  I need to make one similar to this real soon, so I don't forget how I did it!  And look for that different adhesive.  Hope you enjoyed this card.  Different for me, but oh, so pretty!

February Class Share!

Hello!  I think I told you last week that I had finished the first card for my February class but that I didn't know what I wanted to do for the second card.  I had so much trouble and I don't even know why.  The store got in six different dies, three from Art Gone Wild and three from Inky Antics.  Each retail for around $20, so I decided it would be best to spread them out and teach one a month.  Yes, with me having a store in the past, makes me think of these things!  I also had planned to use the cupcake die set from Impression Obsession, but first, I couldn't decide which of the six dies to use and then I felt I needed more than just the cupcake die for me to feel good about the card.  So, I simply used some stamps from the companies they sell, and figure they can always order them if they get requests.  The first card is definitely the "wow" card!  This one I took to the store last Friday just to show and they loved it and wanted me to leave it.  Which was fine, but that meant, my photos had to be taken there at the store instead of home with better lighting.  The two cards are really the class, but I threw in a third project ... for fun, and also because they always have at least three items to make.  The third project is a super, simple post it note holder!  Loved it and couldn't resist adding it to the class!  Here is my Feb. class ... enjoy!

Easy Peasy Post-It Note Holder

Below is my class description if you are interested in coming or would like a class kit. ...

Pop-Up and Pop-Out!  Wed. Feb. 26th 11:00 a.m. and Sat. March 1st 2:30 p.m.  $25
The first card you will be creating is a Pop-up Box Card.  Easy to make but will "wow" you.  It does fold flat for mailing and you will be creating an envelope in class for it to fit in.  The store got in 6 special dies that create different types of pop-outs and starting this month, you will be using one of the six to make a fun card.  This time we are using Art Gone Wild's Twisting Explosion Pop-Out die.  Favorite stamp companies are present in both cards including My Favorite Things, Impression Obsession, and Inky Antics.  Then, the last project is a simple but useful must have.  You will be creating a post-it note holder. This idea was just too simple not to share with you!   Please bring adhesive to include score tape, pop-up dots, detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  All other supplies provided, including a post it note and a pen for your holder.  (Copics used: card 1: E00, E35, V15, YG13/YG17. card 2: W1, W2, B00, R11, RV32, these are listed only for those that have asked for them).

One note, on Debbie's Valentine card, the back panel is a very hot pink, instead of the fuchsia it came out as.  I don't know why certain colors don't show up when I scan cards!  But, pink or fuchsia, this card is too cute!  Which is your favorite?

Pretty Banner Card!

Hello!  I got my new packet of papers and stuff to create some more cards for The Crafty Scrapper's design team blog.  I was happy to see some paper in "my colors"!  There is just something that happens to the creative flow when you are working with colors you like!  From this packet, I will be creating five cards, two for Feb., two for March, and one for April.  And all the cards need to be done by Feb. 15th, but somehow I got scheduled for a post on their blog for TODAY!  So, early in the week, I got going with my new stuff and made this card!  The post that I did for their blog is below.  I don't think they made any changes this time ...woo hoo!  The card is a little thicker than my normal style, as I used some Maya Road chipboard banner pieces ... and buttons, but it is not so thick that I don't think you couldn't send, just have to add a little extra postage.  It was a really fun card to make ... enjoy!

Lately, I have been seeing all kinds of ideas with banners on cards.  I knew I wanted to join in and so I created this fun and festive banner for today's card.  I combined Maya Road's banner chipboard pieces, which I inked with distress ink, with beautiful papers from Authentique's Flourish line, and small dies from My Favorite Things.  And of course, a stamped sentiment completes the card.  I love how it came out and I hope you do too!
