With Deepest Sympathy!

Hello!  I realized there is only one more day in the month and I have only one card left to show you that I haven't shared yet.  This is from the group that I sold to the lady at church.  It is a very simplistic card, but still very elegant.  Enjoy!

Even though I added the pearls, I still think with the colors I picked it would be a perfect card to send to a man or a woman.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession and the little cross is from Stampendous.  Do you like this one?

Some People Make the World Special!

Hello!  Today I have a pretty card that I made that I haven't shown you yet.  It is actually a birthday card even though the sentiment on the front is more general.  On the inside I stamped a birthday sentiment.  Enjoy!

Don't you love the colors?  I didn't make note of the recipe but I do know the sentiment and the flowers are from Verve.  And that vine looking die is Spellbinders.  I made this card for a friend at church and Sunday, she told me how much she liked it.  She said she had it sitting on her table, which I thought when she said that, I wish I would have made an easel card so that it would sit up more easily.  I know which recipients would likely keep them and so for them, maybe I should think about always making those into easel cards.  It's a thought!

Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with the share between Debbie and I.  It was one of those weeks that we had a choice between circle and square and as usual, I went with the square, and Debbie went with a circle.  Let's get right to it!  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Debbie told me she picked her sentiment with me in mind.  Yes, "trust" is my favorite word.  It just always reminds me that always with faith I can trust that everything will be as it should be.  Thanks Debbie!  When I saw Debbie's card, I decided I would do a card with a sentiment too!  This is my teaching week, so making it a card that takes time is a plus for sure!  What do you think of this sketch?  Square or circle, it is a perfect one for a nice sentiment, don't you think?

On my way to teach today.  See you tomorrow for Sunday words of wisdom!

Sending Thoughts!

Hello!  I have another one of the cards that I made for an order for a lady at church.  The sentiment you have seen before, but not this card.  95% of the time, when I make cards, I try to do each one differently by using different sketches, with different papers.  That way I can say each card is one of a kind, because it is!  Enjoy!

I love how this one came out, such a nice sketch with pretty papers from My Minds Eye!  What do you think?

Happy Summer! (With a Pinwheel Tutorial!)

Hello!  Today's post is a repeat of the post that is on The Crafty Scrapper's blog today.  They don't like the blog posts to be real long, so I opted to share a tutorial with you here on my blog complete with pictures!  So, make sure you scroll to the end to see my pinwheel tutorial.  They are easy peasy to make!  One more thing, if you have The Crafty Scrapper's blog bookmarked, you will need to change it, as they have combined their website with their blog.  Now, we only have to remember one address, the easy one ...www.thecraftyscrapper.com!  Enjoy!

Hello!  Tina here, with another fun card creation, using some fun papers and supplies from The Crafty Scrapper!

In my June class, we made pinwheels for one of the class cards.  They were mini's but I decided to do a bigger one for this fun summer card.  I used a red, white, and blue line of papers from Echo Park and combined it with some great sparkly Thickers, a Happy die cut from Impression Obsession, a little washi tape, and a wood butterfly from Maya Road for the perfect summer card!

You can find all the supplies and see this card in person at The Crafty Scrapper!

Now, here is my pinwheel tutorial -
You can make any size as long as you start with a square.  For the pinwheel on my card, I started with a 2 3/4" square. (I kept trying different size squares until I found the size that I wanted).

1.  Fold your paper in half to make the shape of a triangle.

 2. Unfold the paper and turn it around.  Fold the paper into a triangle the other way.  PokeIn a hole in the middle of the paper.  See in photo below ...

 3.  In each crease, cut half way to the hole in the center.  See below ...

 4. Punch a hole in every other corner ...

 Photo below shows holes ...

 5.  Place a brad in one of the holes and go around one way slipping all of the holes onto the bottom of the brad.  See photos ...

 6.  When you get them all on, poke the pointed end of the brad through the back of the pinwheel.  Now, push the prongs of the brad down to keep it in place.  This next photo is the back view ...

The Pinwheel is done ... Easy Peasy!   One last note, you can see my pinwheel in the tutorial is opposite of the card pinwheel, as far as how the paper is folded.  Either way works, whatever you prefer.  It all depends on which ends are attached to the brad.

Card Recipe:
Paper - Pebbles Americana Line: "Liberty", "National Anthem", Cardstock White, Blue, tiny strips of black cardstock for butterfly attenaes.
Stamps - none (shhh! don't tell anyone!)
Ink - Wink of Stella Clear Gloss glitter pen, Blue Copic, Pilot Med. Point Silver marker to color butterfly chippie
Tools - Brad from Echo Park Summer Bliss line, Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossing folder, Impression Obsession Happy Die (from Happy Birthday set)
Other - Washi Tape, Popsicle stick, American Craftys Thickers, Maya Road Butterfly Chipboard, Rhinestones

Happy Stamping!

You Make Me Happy!

Hello!  Do you find yourself drawn to the same kind of stamps and think, oh I need that one too, as it will be go with those other stamps ...I know you do it too!  I seem to be on a sunshine, cloud, umbrella theme and have been for a while now, as I seem to have quite a "collection" with this theme.  I have even said out loud that I need to make some kind of mini book or something with them all.  Haven't done that yet, but I did make a simple card ...enjoy!

The little umbrella and rain boots are from The Rubber CafĂ© and that big sentiment is from a scrapbook stamp set from Pink Paislee.  The set even has a umbrella die in it, which again, I haven't used ...yet!  Ha, Ha!

This is my teaching week, so I am really glad that I took the time last Friday to write the posts for this week.  See you tomorrow!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am here with this week's sketch and the share between Debbie and I.  Let's get right to it.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
What do you think about this week's sketch?  I like it, but I have to say have 4 squares across really limits the images that can be put in that space.  My original idea was owls, but when I started cutting the paper squares, I realized, nope too big.  Then I was putting away my last month's class left overs, saw the fish paper, and switched gears.  I like how it came out.  Debbie found those tiny elephants, perfect size for the squares.  This same sketch with three squares would be easier.  Might have to try it some time!  Do you like this week's cards?

See you tomorrow for my Sunday words of wisdom post.

Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello!  This is my second post of the day, so if you missed the first, be sure to scroll down to see it!  I did a post showing you my July class cards.  Now, on to today's share ... the sketch for the week is interesting.  I will let you be the judge.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
This week's sketch is a perfect example of why I love doing the weekly sketches with Debbie!  Yes, sometimes life is busy, like this week, and trying to find the time to make one card, is crazy, but it is still worth it.  Because if I had just seen this sketch and wasn't made to create with it, I would think, no, I don't like it.  But, when you actually make the card, then you see it in a different light. I do love how both cards came out.  I think Debbie had the right idea.  It is a perfect sketch for a nice quote!  The best part of the sketch is that diagonal.  It wastes a little paper, but the result is great!  What are your thoughts?

See you tomorrow for the Sunday words of wisdom post.

July Class Share!

Hello!  Wow, what a busy week it has been.  Early in the week, I spent at least three days, pretty much non stop working on trying to get the next class samples done.  I finished on Wednesday, but ever since then, there has been other stuff going on.  I finally have a few minutes to show you my class cards.  They came out great!  But, I have to say sometimes, the process is just amazing to me.  Here is what I mean ...last Sunday, I had not a clue what I was going to do.  I had bought papers at the store the previous week, and of course, I knew on one card, I was going to use the Standing pop-up die from Art Gone Wild, as it is the last die in my series of a die a month.  It is kinda between seasons in the retail world, so I didn't pick up any new stamps.  I figured I would use what I had in my stash from companies that they have ordered from and could easily get.  I went to Pinterest for ideas and I printed out about 6 ideas and then I narrowed it down to what would work with the papers I got and the stamps I had.  This is the result...enjoy!

Some of the papers I had picked up was a birthday line from Carta Bella.  I then combined that with a tutorial on making a bow from The We R Memory Keepers punch board and a stamp set from Inky Antics to come up with this ...

There is a magnet to "keep" the gift box closed and then inside, the "wow" factor!  The standing pop-out die makes that "wow"! And the Happy Birthday dies!

The next card is much more simple, but so cute!  The shape of the card is made again with the We R Memory Keepers punch board ...

And the inside ...

And last but not least, is this bright and flowery double z-fold card.  First, the front with the belly band on.

Without the belly band on ...
 Opened ...
 And under the flap ...

Here are the details in case you are local and would like to come or if you would enjoy getting a kit sent to you ...

Brights, Camera, Action! Wed.  July 23rd 11:00 a.m. and Sat. July 26th 2:30 p.m.
Come make three creative and unique cards.  This month completes our series of creating with a different die every month, at least for the 6 we started with!   This month's die is the standing pop-out die from Art Gone Wild.  The first card uses this fun die on the inside, but wait until you see the outside, as it looks just like a gift box, complete with a bow that you will make with the We R Memory Keepers punch board!  Next, is an adorable camera shaped card, and last but not least is a double Z-Fold card with lots of flowery, bright panels!   Please bring adhesive to include micro glue dots, clear adhesive (like glue stick),  pop-up dots, detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  All other supplies provided.  (Copics used (for those who have asked to know ahead of time): card 1: Y21,Y17, G000, R24, YG23, B93, card 2: E00, E33, Y15, C0, BG53, C7, card 3:E00, E33, C7, Y08, R81, YG25, YG11, RV23, R27, B52)

Next, I will be writing my usual Saturday Sketch Share post, so make sure you check that one out too!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  This 4th of July weekend, I enjoyed fireworks two nights, a parade, and time spent with family and friends.  So, of course, today, I think I should give you a patriotic quote.  This one you know so well, but I love the way it is written out ... enjoy!

I also want to share a photo I found on pinterest.  I shared it on my facebook page, but I thought I might it share it here too!  Look closely, they're military dog tags.  So cool!  Enjoy!

I have some cards ready to show you next week and I am also working on my next class cards, so when I get them done, I'll have them to show you too.

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello! Did you see my hint yesterday that both Debbie's and my card are both patriotic today?  Well, when you see the sketch, you will see how we both saw it was a perfect one for a patriotic card.  You know we are working our way through the Verve sketches from 2013, and I think this one is from April, but I am telling you, it could not be more perfect for this weekend's card creations.  Let's get to it, so you can see.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Do you see what I mean about the sketch?  I love how both of the cards came out.  Don't you?  I just couldn't resist using that fun little guy stamp.  (I call him Sam!)  I love the 3D card that Debbie made with the rosette and glittered star.  Both so different, but both follow the sketch perfectly!

See you tomorrow for the Sunday words of wisdom post.  Enjoy this holiday weekend!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello!  Both of the shares tomorrow are patriotic (shhh ... don't tell anyone!) but I thought you needed a card creation for the holiday on the day.  I also realized that I had got a stamp a while back that is fun for the 4th but hasn't gotten inky yet, so ... without further ado ... here is my fun 4th of July card for the day ... enjoy!

The firecracker is all glittery too, but it does not show in the photo.  I used the Wink of Stella glitter pen by Zig.  I just gives an all over glitter over the colors.  They also come in colors but the one I used today is the clear glitter one.  If you don't have these yet, I highly recommend them!  My card is simple, but cute, huh?  I love to go see the big fireworks in the sky and as in years past, my granddaughter has promised to go along with me, so I thought I would give her this card as a thanks for spending time with me.  The inside sentiment is "You're a real firecracker!"

See you tomorrow for the Saturday share.

Have a great holiday.  Have fun, stay safe!
