Best Witches!

Hello!  We are cruising (right now) with our friends Jim and Donna and my card today will be given to my friend Donna, for Halloween.  I borrowed this stamp from another friend (who also got a similar card) and I am so glad I got to use it and do my favorite technique too!  Here is my card ... enjoy!

Yes, you guessed it!  My favorite technique is paper piecing.  My "little pretty" is just too cute with her dress in polka dots to match the paper on my card.  You love it, right?

See you tomorrow for the sketch share!  And of course, Happy Halloween!

I Vant You!

Hello!  Today, I have the Halloween card I made for my husband.  It's pretty cute!  Enjoy!

The stamp came from a set from The Cat's Pajamas. I showed you the other image of that set a couple of weeks ago, but I decided since it was new to me, I had better ink him up.  The sentiment was made with tiny alphabet letter stamps.  My inside sentiment is from Rubbernecker and it reads ...
Boo-Frickity-Hoo!  Love it!  How about you?

See you tomorrow!

Happy Birthday with Sparkles!

Hello!  Today's card is one I made for my friend Donna.  I decided I wanted to make a little shaker card with some sequin sparkles.  Let me show you ... enjoy!

I had not planned to add the a la mode girl from My Favorite Things, but was thinking I might add some pattern paper balloons, but I could not find in my messy room the stamp set I was looking for!  So, I went with plan B and used this girl.  And I am so glad I did.  So cute!  I kinda fussy cut her out, leaving a small edge of white.  I rarely do this, but I think it worked okay this time!  I do have to mention, about the shaker card part how much trouble I have with the sparkles not wanting to move around ... I think it's about the static!  Oh well, it is still cute!  Right?

See you tomorrow!

Fat Book Page Participation!

Hello!  Remember last year I participated in a group book with an art group I once was a member of?  Well, a few months ago, I got another invitation.  This time they were doing a collaborative Halloween Fat Book.  All the pages were to be 4 x 4 inches leaving a 1/2 inch on the left side for binding.  I finished my little page back in September but then forgot to show you.  So, I will show you my page first .... Enjoy!

I made a smaller version of my favorite Halloween card from last year and used the long Halloween border die from Impression Obsession.  I was even able to get my hands on more of the paper I used last year!  I made 24 pages just like this.  This group allows color copies.  So, I could have made one and colored copied it for 23 more!  But, in my opinion, if each one is not individually made, that shouldn't be considered originals.   I was pleasantly surprised that there was a mixture of  originals and color copies.
Here is the book ...

It is a cool front with ribbon, netting, and a glittered 31.  I do want to note that the book is made from chipboard, black duct tape and two binder rings!!! That is it!!!  So, cool!  Here is the spine with an added tag that how our name on it and that Halloween skull charm and more netting ...

This is the front page.  Under that coffin shape, is a printed list of the participants.

I do not have permission to show individual pages, so I took a picture of it spread open.  Every page, color copies or not, was very creative.  There was some stamping, a lot of paper crafting, and even a few that did their pages with fabric.

So, glad I got to participate!

See your tomorrow!

Blessed to Call You Sister!

Hello!  No, I don't have a sister.  But, I was asked to make a card for someone who does!  When I get requests for cards for them to send to a specific person, I always ask what they like, colors, theme, etc.  The answer I got is that they share a love for Africa ... yes, the country.  I guess they have been there a number of times and also have sponsored children and been involved in other ways.  I could think of stamps with African themes, but not any that I would have in my stash.  She needed the card within a week, so no time for ordering.  I tried to "spoof" up my general birthday card by adding gold embossing and paper.  Of course, she probably didn't know the difference.  Here is my card ... enjoy!

She said she liked the colors.  I will take it!  As, I think it is quite nice!  What do you think?

See you tomorrow for the Saturday sketch share!

Wishing You a Heavenly Day!

Hello!  The same friend from my church that I made yesterday's card for, also wanted a birthday card to send to her sister who loves angels.  I told my friend that I had picked up this stamp that was more of a humorous angel and she said okay, so this is the card I came up with ... enjoy!

I told my friend that if she wanted a more serious angel, I would do a different card, but she liked it.  I really like this sweet, but fun image from Inky Antics.  How about you?

See you tomorrow.

Get Well Pretty!

Hello!  Today's card is another get well card I made for an order from my friend at church.  It is very bright, perfect to brighten someone's day ... enjoy!

It is a pretty card, don't you think?  I made this a while back and can't find my list of supplies but if you need it, just ask.  I do know that both the flowers and the sentiment are from Verve.

See you tomorrow!

Hello!  Yes, I forgot to do my Sunday words post.  We are leaving for a cruise next weekend and we have had major issues with our reservation and so dealing with that, I totally forgot!  So, with everything going on, I picked a quote that is a good reminder for stress ...God!  Enjoy ...

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another share between Debbie and I.  Wait until you see our cards today.  I really love how they came out and the sketch!  Let's get right to it.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Yes, another Halloween card from me, but I have been waiting to see a sketch that I could stamp off the adorable image of the zombie dude.  This stamp from The Cat's Pajamas came out in 2011 I think.  I have wanted it ever since.  Last year, during their cyber Monday sale, I ordered it but because it was past Halloween, I had not inked it yet!  I am so glad to get it inky!  Debbie, I know went with a bright and fun birthday card because her birthday is in a few days!  We wish her a wonderful birthday, don't we!?  Oh, and the sketch, it is a keeper, for sure!  What do you think?

Triple Happy Birthday!

Hello!  Today's card is a birthday card I made for my stepdaughter last month!  Before I show it, I want to warn you, that is doesn't have any designer paper on it!  Not my usual style but ... oh so pretty!  Enjoy!

My stepdaughter loves purple.  So, I knew a purple card was in order.  I have to add a funny story here, I found some birthday paper in my stash that had purple and I thought I would pair it with an a la mode stamp of a girl with a cake, but decided to check out on my own blog to see what I made for her last year ... I did that exact paper and stamp last year ... oh my goodness!  So, it went with purple copics and did this triple stamping technique.  Love how it came out!  I she loved it too!

Autumn Greetings!

Hello!  I had told you I had some cards that I made last month that I had not shown you, well today's is one I made for The Crafty Scrapper's blog but didn't set it up on my blog to post the same day.  (Not even the same month, that is bad!)  Better late than never ...enjoy!

This card was inspired by all the pretty fall banners I have seen.  I thought I could do a mini paper version on a card.  This is the result!  Paper, twine, Impression Obsession's leaf die, a sentiment and some rhinestones make up this fall card!

This is going to be a busy week as today I am helping out with the store move and then prepping and teaching this week too.  I still have a few cards that I made last month that I haven't shown you, so I will try to do a couple of posts late this week.

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another share between Debbie and I.  Are you tired of Halloween cards yet?  I hope not because I have another one for you today and in fact, I have made five more that I will show you before the end of the month.  Debbie on the other hand, is doing birthday cards, because she has a lot of October birthdays in her family (including hers)!  Let me show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used!  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Did you notice that I cheated?  Yes, the extra element was supposed to fit on the left top side with the bow on the right like the sketch.  Well ... I did it opposite, element on the right and bow on the left.  I really wanted to use that image and the sketch just wouldn't work unless I changed it!  I also love Debbie's balloon element how she added glossy accents to make it look thick and realistic!  Love them both, how about you?

Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with the share between Debbie and I.  I will show you my card, then Debbie's, and then the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
What do you think about this sketch?  I love another horizontal choice.  My image was actually much bigger than the oval on the sketch, but I really wanted to use it, so I made it work.  By the way, that cute "Frank" image is one that I stamped off from a friends stamps last year at one of the crops, so I am not sure of the company that makes it, but it just gives me a little chuckle.  Too cute!  Love how the papers, button and image that Debbie picked all goes together for a vintage look. Thoughts?

See you tomorrow.

October Class Share!

Hello!  I worked on my next class samples earlier this week.  I have them to show you today.  The Crafty Scrapper had gotten in a bunch of newly released dies from Impression Obsession, so I decided I would make the dies the focal points instead of my usual rubber stamps.  I love how all three came out.  Here are my cards ... enjoy!

First up, is an angel die.  The set actually has two dies in it.  This one and one of an angel kneeling.  I thought the one flying would make a perfect card made like this ...

And this is the view on the inside ...

The dies for the next card are a set of apples and a bushel basket along with a separate die that has a bunch of mini pumpkins.  This card does not show the dies until it is open.  It looks like this when you take it out of the envelope ...

And then when to top is pulled, it changes into a standing pop up and shows that cute bushel basket ...

 Here is a side view...

And last but not least, we will be doing a Z-Fold card which is a super simple design, but it really shows off the tree cut out die that comes from a set of three trees.  This die is made to cut out of the card as opposed to standing alone as most dies.  However, they have added an outline tree in the set, so you can also die cut this traditional way too.  Here is the front view ...

And the open view ...

Here are the class details if you are interested in a kit or would like to come to my class ...
You can contact me, call The Crafty Scrapper at 972-923-3151 or register online at www.thecraftyscapper.com

Holiday Die Obsession - Wed. Oct. 15th 11:00 a.m. and Sat. Oct. 18th 2:30 p.m. $25

You will be creating three unique and fun cards using  brand new dies from Impression Obsession.  First, is a card with a flying angel.  Next, is a standing pop up card in a fall theme with a bushel basket, apples and pumpkins.  And for the last card, we are using one of the dies they call cutouts and doing a z-fold tree card.  Please bring adhesive to include scor-tape (1/8" or 1/4"), pop up dots, a small Xyron (if you have one), and detailed scissors.  All other supplies will be provided.

I know I have been really bad about making cards for the blog, posting the cards I do make, but I will try to get back on track soon.  See you tomorrow for the weekly share!

Happy Stamping!
