Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  As you know, Debbie and I are working our way through the sketches from Mojo Monday and we are currently doing their 2013 sketches.  It just so happens that the sketch for this week, has two hearts on it, which fits this season perfectly.  It was actually a November sketch for them.  I'm sure a lot of people that got in on their challenge at the time, used different shapes instead of hearts.  But, hearts works for us .... I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I love how both cards came out!  Those hearts I used were leftovers from my class kits!  And that is a new Pure Innocence stamp too!  Love her!  I love the embossed heart background on Debbie's card ... I don't own that one! (out of my 50 + folders!!)

I am off to teach today ... wish me luck!
See you tomorrow for the Sunday Words of Wisdom post!

Happy Stamping!

Birthday Wishes!

Hello!  I have been very busy the last couple of weeks, especially this one prepping for my class and class kits.  Wednesday's class went well, but the big one is tomorrow, as I have 14 ladies coming!  I do have a card to show you today.  It is one I made earlier in the month for Gary's son who turned 43!  Yes, 43 ... my hubby had his kids when he was like 17.  I felt like it was okay to do a fun card instead of a serious manly card.  Here is the card ... enjoy!

As you know, I love owl stamps!  This one is an image from Rubber CafĂ©.  The balloons and that tiny cloud are from two die cut sets made by Taylored Expressions that I picked up at the Grapevine convention!  A fun card, don't you think?

I will see you tomorrow for the Saturday sketch share!
Happy Stamping!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  This is my second post today, so this one is short and sweet.  Check  out my other one for the Saturday share and happenings in my life going on!  I saw today's pin come up on my wall yesterday, and as a crafter, I could so relate.  It gave me a giggle, I hope it does for you too!  Enjoy!

(Note: I tried to increase the size of the pin so it could be read easier but everything I tried did not work, so if you can't increase the size then go here to my pin).

See you soon!
Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share (on Sunday)!

Hello!  I have a pretty good excuse for being late ... maybe ...we can blame this one on the postal service because for some unknown reason this week, it took Debbie's card longer than the usual one day to get to me.  But, of course, if I wouldn't been gone yesterday to go to another stamp convention, I would have been home to get the mail and do the post on time.  I guess I can't blame it all on the postal service!  Hee, Hee!  The show yesterday was small but always fun with friends!  And I got to drive my new Captiva Sport ... YEA!  I so love being back in a small SUV.  I have missed it so!  I guess we had better get to what you came for, right?  This week's sketch was the choice between circle and square.  Debbie and I both went square.  And both are seasonal, winter for her and Valentine's for me.  Let's do it ... I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used!  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketches
I like the way they both came out.  However, I think both cards would have worked a little better if they would have been larger size squared cards, as there is a lot going on in a very small space.  What do you think?

In between buying a car, going off to Tyler twice, once with family, and once to go to an estate sale, I have been working a lot on my January class which I will be teaching this next week.  Donna even helped me one whole day, cut and score!  Aren't friends the greatest?  But, I am not done prepping yet.  I am making 32 kits!  So, it takes some time!  I do have a couple of cards that I made for birthdays that I haven't shown you yet, I will try to get them on here later in the week.

Oh, and the Sunday words of wisdom is following this post.  It's about crafting ... it will give you a giggle!

Happy Stamping!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  I was thinking ... should I keep doing the posts on Sunday sharing quotes?  Yes, I think I will.  So, here is my pick of the day ... enjoy!

Makes you think, doesn't it?

My class is not this week but next, however, I have already started prepping and that is because I have more sign ups than I have ever had!  I also have 7 or 8 new ladies.  I guess it is safe to say that my explosion box is a hit! Plus, there are three ladies at church that I showed my box to before I took it to the store and they want me to make them boxes for gifts.  So, that is 7 more!  I do have a couple of cards started or done that I want to show you this week too, so I will hopefully see you soon!

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share and Winner Announced!

Hello!  I bet you were wondering why you didn't hear from me this week, especially since I said I would announce the winner for my 1000th blog post giveaway on Tuesday.  There is a reason and I will tell you but you are going to have to sit through the Saturday's sketch share first.  Let's do it... I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
The stamp image I used is a little clear stamp I picked up at the show.  ($1.29) The reason why I say it is cheap is that the ink bleeds a little when you stamp it, but it is awful cute!  And the sentiment was so appropriate for this week ... hoot, hoot, hurray!  Mainly, because I got my stamp shack space cleaned and organized!  Well, as much as possible when you have a LOT OF STUFF!  I know you know what I mean!!  It took three days this week to do it but I feel so much better not that all the holiday stuff is put away and the piles of scraps of cardstock are put in folders.  A sigh of relief!  Okay, next, what do you think about this week's sketch?  I like it!  It is especially nice when you have a small image that you want to showcase ... like out cute little animal images!

I told you above there was a reason that I didn't announce the winner as planned on Tuesday.  You see, I had 4 commenters, all of which are good friends.  And I just didn't think it was fair for me to draw a name.  So, last night at crop, I got my friend, Karolyn to draw a name.  And here is your visual of the "happening" ...

And the winner is ....  Virginia!!

I texted her and she told me she wanted her gift card from Hobby Lobby.  I ordered it online this morning and it is on it's way to her!  Woo Hoo!  And, thanks Karolyn for helping me out!

See you tomorrow!
Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share (on Sunday!)

Hello!  Do you know you only have about a day in a half to leave a comment on last Monday's post here for a  chance at a $25 gift card from me?  Right now, I think there are only a few entries, so the odds are in your favor!  I am late in doing my Saturday sketch post because yesterday I went to the stamp convention in Grapevine.  I love this one because I always see a bunch of ex-customers of mine.  And yesterday was no exception!  I got to talk and catch up with a lot of people that I haven't seen in a while. And then I got to spend a little money on stamps and dies and have a meal with my stamping friends.  Doesn't get much better than that!  Well, let's get to the cards and sketch for the day.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I think both cards are great!  I have done this sketch before and I love it!  It needs to be in the "go to" folder, for sure!

I think I am skipping the words of wisdom post this week, as it seems this Sunday got away from me.  I promised myself I would get to cleaning, putting away, straightening my horribly messy craft room.  I am procrastinating about it. And it is cold outside, so that just makes me want to do it even less.  But, I do have some new goodies to play with, so either I will get to cleaning or play with my new stuff amid the chaos!  See you soon with another creation!

Happy Stamping!

Feeling Arful?

Hello!  First things first ... have you left a comment on this post for a chance at a $25 gift card?  If you haven't yet, you better go do it, as you only have a few more days to get in on the giveaway!  Now on to today's card ... I  made this one for a friend at church that broke her arm.  I thought it would bring a smile to her face.  I hope it does the same for you.  Enjoy!

I used a 6 x 6 pad of paper from a couple of years ago, as I went looking for some papers that had some brown tones.  Cute, huh?

Tomorrow is my Saturday sketch share day but I am having to put it off until Sunday as I am going to stay with a friend tonight and then will be at the stamp convention in Grapevine tomorrow.

See you on Sunday for two posts!
Happy Stamping!

Skate On Dude!

Hello!  Before I get to today's card ... have you commented on this post for a chance to win a  $25 gift card?  No, you haven't but you need to ... go do it NOW!  Today's card is one I made for the grandson who turned 6 on Monday.  The stamp set is from My Favorite Things and is one I got from a friend at a bargain, with this occasion in mind.  Since, there are no other grandsons this little, I figure this will  probably be the only time this stamp set will get used.  Knowing that, I decided to do something fun!  I made it a slider card!  Here it is ... enjoy!

I love how it came out!  To make my life simple, I used the die set from The Cat's Pajamas that includes dies to make that nice opening and then also the slider tab and puller.  Fun, don't you think?

Remember you have until next Monday to leave your comment on the post that is linked above.

Happy Stamping!

My 1000 Post!! And a Gift from ME to YOU!

Hello, time to pop the confetti, just like in the photo above!  I have written 1000 posts since I started my blog!  A pretty cool milestone for sure, don't you think?  And celebrations like this, should have a give-away.  Most of the time, on the blogs I follow, their blog candy comes from companies that the blogger promotes.  Or sometimes, it comes right from their own stash.  Nope, I decided I would not give you stuff I already own but give you a opportunity to buy something new, something that is on your crafters wish list!

What do you get?  If you win, you just let me know where you would like me to purchase a gift card for you in the amount of $25!!!  My gift from me to you!  You can pick any crafting store, whether it be mom and pop online, or brick and mortar, or even a chain store (you might have to convince me it is for crafts, not for groceries, ha,ha)!  Cool, huh??

How do you get it?  Yes, I do want something.  You expected that.  I am always telling friends that I have no idea if anyone even looks at my blog, well, I am fixing to find that out!  There are a few ways to get entered into the giveaway ...

1.  Become a follower to my blog through Google, networked blogs or by email.  All of these choices or in the right sidebar.
2.   Leave me a comment on THIS post ... tell me the crafting tool you that you cannot live without.  (you know mine would be the Big Shot!)  And if you did #1, tell me that and you will get an additional entry.  If you are already a follower through one of these, tell me that and you will get an additional entry.  A lot of people comment on Facebook instead of here on the actual posts, and I am great with that EXCEPT for this one time.  I really want the comments to be on this post!

I will give you one week, until January 12th at midnight central time to leave your comments.  I will throw all the entries in a hat and draw one out and I will announce the winner on the 13th!  At that time, you should contact me and tell me your choice of the store you want your gift card to.  I will pay for it and get it to you!  What a deal!!

I have a card to show you tomorrow, see you then!
Happy Stamping!

January Class Share!

Hello!  As you know, I finished my January class project a few days ago, but I put off showing you here, so that I could get through the other posts that I had planned for the end of the year, like the three posts of favorite cards, projects and sketches.  So, if you missed the last few posts, make sure you check them out.  As in years past, my January class is one that I don't make the usual three cards but do some other kind of project instead.  I think it happens this way because I like to use new products in the store, but being that they just did a year end sale, there is not a lot new yet.  In fact, the designer paper I got for my project is from Pebbles, their Valentine line from 2014.  And I used a Pure Innocence stamp that may or may not still be available to order from My Favorite Things.  I don't think any of this will matter when they see what we are making because it is a "wow" project.  When I still had my store, I remember that one of the teachers taught an explosion box and I always thought that it was really cool.  I don't really remember what it looked like, or how the one they made it, I just remember thinking someday, I am going to make one of those!  And now I have, and anyone can too, if they take my class or buy a kit!  Woo Hoo!  Let me show you ... enjoy!

Here is the box closed ...

The top of the box has a heart easel, so that it will go flat for mailing or packaging ...

And the best part ....

The Explosion part ....

Wait for it .....  (hee, hee!)

This is what you see when you take the box lid off ...

I say "Wow"!  It also has 24, yes 24, pockets to add sentiments, notes, or photos!  How cool is that?  Of course, the best part is that small box you will make in the bottom middle with those chocolate hearts in it!  Yummy!  Okay, I hear you ... you are saying this is too hard to make.  You have to believe me, it is not.  A few steps, but pretty darn easy.  If you are interested in coming to class, or live locally so that you could pick up your kit at The Crafty Scrapper, call the store to sign up at 972-923-3151.  Or you can order online at www.thecraftyscrapper.com.  If you want a kit, but don't live close enough to the store to pick it up, and would like me to mail you one, send me a message.

Here are the class details -

Explosion Box of Love!  Wed. Jan. 28th 11:00 a.m. and Sat. Jan. 31st 2:30 p.m.  $28
Come make this awesome explosion box with a heart theme, which would be perfect to give to that special someone for Valentine's Day or other occasions!  The box lid has a double heart pop-up, but can be folded flat if needed.  Then, when the box is opened, they will say "wow"!  There are 24 pockets for notes or photos.  And, included is another box right in the middle with four chocolate hearts!  This project looks hard to make, but really is simple.  Included in the class, will be every measurement so that you can recreate this special box again and again.  I will also bring stamps for you to decorate the pocket cards.  Please bring adhesive to include 1/8" scor-tape, small paper cutter or a ruler and a pencil (for just a few small cuts), detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium, (copics I used for those who want to know ahead of time: E00, E35, E37, E43, C2, R000, R35, R32.  All other supplies provided.

I do want to talk about one more thing ...you might notice above that my class price is higher.  I am having to increase all my classes to $28.  For my three years of teaching, I received my class fee less 5% to cover the credit card expenses that the store incurs.  It seems every teacher now also pays a consignment fee to cover electricity, advertising, etc, so instead of 5%, it will be 20%.  I want to be fair to all the ladies that take my classes and not make them do a huge jump in fees, so I decided on the $28 amount.  It is a little less take home for me, but not too much more for my customers.  I appreciate everyone's support of me and my classes.

See you tomorrow for my big giveaway!!
Happy Stamping!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  I am back with another sentiment about the new year!  Also, I am working on another post for today to show you my next class project, so don't miss that one.  And, don't forget, tomorrow I have a special milestone to share with a giveaway.  Now, here is my pick of good thoughts for the week ... enjoy!

This one is a favorite and one I think I should print out and tape up somewhere to remind me every day these tasks for the year!

My Favorite Saturday Sketches for 2014!

Hello, back for a second post today!  I have a folder with what I call my "go to sketches", but recently I realized it has been a while since I updated the folder and added the newest ones. Today, I will be showing you my favorites from 2014.  There are still a number of ones before that I need to go thru but will save that for another day.  So, just like when I showed you my favorite cards, you can click on the number below the photo and it will take you to the original Saturday sketch post.  Enjoy!

Wow!  I didn't mean to pick so many!  I think there are 30! More than half of the ones that we did. Thanks again to Mojo Monday, which is the blog for Verve stamps.  I love their sketches!  Now, I need to print this group out so I can refer to them, as they will now be in "Tina's Go To Sketch File"!  Which are your favorites?

I will be back tomorrow with two more posts, one the Sunday words of wisdom post, and one with photos and details for my January class.  This will take us to the Monday post which is a big milestone post with a SURPRISE!!
