Saturday's Sketch Share!
Hello! I am back today with another share between Debbie and I. This is one of the square or circle weeks. This time we both went square. I do want to tell you that this is the last sketch from Mojo Monday for their 2013 sketches. How exciting, as next week we will start doing the 2014 ones. And looking ahead I see that for the 4th week where we usually have the square or circle choice, they have changed it to a tall and skinny card, so that should be different and fun. Here are today's cards. Enjoy!

Saturday's Sketch Share!
Hello! I am back today with another share between Debbie and I using the same sketch. Today I have an additional card that is very close as being the same, but with just a couple of added elements. When I made my card, I cut enough to have three additional cards to send. I finished the first one and it got put in the mail to Debbie, but when I went to finish the other three, I decided I would like it better if I added a little something extra. First, my original card, then Debbie's, then the sketch we both used. And then last by not least, my additional card. Enjoy!
Debbie's card came out perfect and I think it is because she added that adorable leprechaun image on the right side of the card. This sketch just needs something more to make it complete. At least that is what I think, What are your thoughts?
Happy Stamping!

Super Hero!
Hello! Today, I have a card for you that I made for my Godson's son for his first birthday. I had picked up a bag at Target for the gift that had a generic super hero image on it and thought, wow, I wish I had a stamp that would coordinate with the bag. My first thought was to add a tiny superman emblem to a stamp of a boy, but it seems I only have a couple of boy stamps and those didn't work, so I did something I never do and I went looking online for sites that have digital stamps. I found one here, paid for it ($3), downloaded it and then printed it on some Neenah cardstock so I could color it with copics. Easy, but I can say this could never replace the love of having the stamps in my hand. For this one time card, it works! Here is my card ... enjoy!
As you can see, I didn't find any DP in my stash that would match, so I just went with an embossing folder background. And yes, I used those tiny individual letter peg stamps from long ago. Oh, one note, I saw on pinterest where they wrap a rubber band around the word of peg stamps and stamp it all at once, but when I tried it, the spacing seemed all wrong, so I went with just stamping them individually and holding my breath that I would line them up. I did pretty good, I think. Overall, I am pretty happy with how the card came out.
See you tomorrow for the Saturday share.
Happy Stamping!

Pretty Post It Note Holders! (+ A Pattern and a How-to!)
Hello! Last month at my ladies church group, one of the ladies handed out mini pens just as a treat for the ladies. As soon as I saw them, I thought of those post it note holders that I had taught in one of my classes, last year, I think it was, that I had got those same pens for. I thought right then that I was going to make a bunch of post it note holders for the ladies to go with their pens. First, I will show you what I made and then I have a how-to! Enjoy!
The group photo...
As you can see, I kept it simple. I gave them a choice of cardstock but all the DP was the same, as well, as the same verse and cross, both from Our Daily Bread Designs.
Here is the pattern ...
.
1. Crease all score lines. You will see that the front is shorter than the back. There is a reason.
2. Fold on the middle score line and make two snips from equal distances from the ends. (or as close as possible, as mine aren't exact). This will form your pen holder.
3. Turn it over and add two small pieces of scor-tape as seen in the photo below.
Make sure you do not have any overlapping tape and none in the middle.
Remove tape liner and stick down.
4. Add scor-tape to the backside of your post it note and next to the part you just taped down. You can now see the reason for the front side being shorter.
5. Decorate your front and backside. I added a DP square on the back to make it look more finished.
That's it! Easy Peasy!
See you soon!
Happy Stamping! And Happy St. Patty's Day to you too!

The group photo...
Here is the pattern ...
.
As you can see, you cut the cardstock to 3 1/2" x 7 1/2". The score lines are at 3 1/2", 3 7/8", and 4 1/4". 1. Crease all score lines. You will see that the front is shorter than the back. There is a reason.
2. Fold on the middle score line and make two snips from equal distances from the ends. (or as close as possible, as mine aren't exact). This will form your pen holder.

Somebunny Thinks You're Special! (+ A Tutorial)!
Hello! Today I have a cute card on The Crafty Scrapper's blog for their design team. I used the flip flop die from Inky Antics. This is the one that I taught in my February class and so I thought it would be fun to show it on both their blog and my blog. I wanted to add a tutorial on their blog but I just didn't think I could do it in less than five pictures, so I have the tutorial for you here! First, let me show you my card. I used the My Favorite Things bunny stamp set with matching dies. (yes, again!) Enjoy!
Everything you need to flip flop your panels is included in the package, including the flip flop die and a positioning template to create the open slots for your mechanism to work ...
Before we get to the tutorial, here is the inside look of my card ...
Okay, now the tutorial ...
1. Die cut the flip flop mechanism, seen below. Add scor-tape along the right side, on the left side and in the middle.
2. Remove the tape liners. Fold side flaps inward on score lines, starting with the right side flap (the small one) and then the left. The photo below is what it will look like ... (Some of the ladies in my class thought it looked like a tongue depressor ...lol!)
3. You will use the positioning template to die cut the holes into where the flip flop mechanism will be inserted. The positioning template has all the measurements you need to create panels in three different sizes.
After your holes are cut in the paper, you will close the tabs at the top of the mechanism so that you can get it through the first slot on your paper. And the tab will go through the opposite slot. See below...
4. Once it is in, you will fold the top one down ...
6. Now, you will create a fold-over piece, using the measurements from the positioning template. Add scor-tape, at the top of the inside piece. Add this underneath the folded down mechanism ...
7. Now, all you do is close this. It will stick with the scor-tape that shows above. You can now add your main image on top of this closed panel. And add a sentiment underneath this flip flop panel.
8. Only one more thing that you need to know ... when you add adhesive (scor-tape) to the back of this panel to adhere to your card base, leave the side open, with no adhesive added, where the top of the mechanism is, so that the mechanism has room to work.
In my February class, on one of the cards, I added the flip flop on the inside of the card instead of the front. I don't do much scrapbooking, but I if I did , I could see it used with a photo on top and flip flopped up to reveal a sentiment or another photo underneath... that would be cute. So, you scrapbookers, go do that!
The Crafty Scrapper, I know has these in stock right now, so go get one! (Or they can send you one!) So, many possibilities!
I made some post it notes for my ladies at church. I will be back tomorrow to show you those. I might even give you a tutorial for them too! Cool!
Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!
Hello! Sorry I am a little late today. I had a meeting at church this morning and then I had a post to get ready for The Crafty Scrapper's blog for Monday. The good news is I will have a tutorial here for you on Monday. For my design team card, I used the flip flop die from Inky Antics, but they don't want more than 5 photos on any one post, and you know me, long winded, there is no way I could do a tutorial with only five photos. So, the tutorial will be here. But, it is only Saturday, which means I have a card from me, one from Debbie and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!
I have to say, I love how my card came out. The stamps are from a My Favorite Things set of bunnies and other items like the flower cart. It is my new favorite set. You will be seeing them a lot! And not just at Easter time! In fact, I used them on my design team card you will see on Monday and you already saw it used on my class sample a few days ago. However, this is the first time I had tried paper piecing the dress ... so cute! And the sketch, well, I think it is okay, what are your thoughts?
See you tomorrow for the words of wisdom post.

Have I Toad You Lately ...!
Hello! As promised, I am back today with two more cards that I haven't shown you. The first one I made this week for my hubby, as Tuesday was our Anniversary. I am glad that for him he doesn't care that I do silly cards instead of "serious manly ones"! Periodically, for his cards, I use frog images, which I am not sure how that started, but we do have a frog nightlight in our bathroom with the sentiment that says "together until we croak"! Hee, Hee. So, I used one of the Saturday sketches from a few weeks ago and a frog die that I got at the convention back in January to make this silly card ... enjoy!
Those frog die cuts are kinda dumb looking but I went with them anyway. The eyes are a separate cut but I had trouble deciding the placement. I did notice one mistake as I was putting the card into the envelope which I was not going to redo ... see those flying critters? They are upside down!! Oh well!
The second card I have for you today is one I made a grandson way back in January. It is on the fun side too. Enjoy!
This card is made from a set of stamps from Taylored Expressions and the paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from Simple Stories. On the first card, I used some new papers from Authentique.
So, that is it ... I am all caught up on showing you my past creations.
I will be back tomorrow for the Saturday sketch share. See you then!

Blessed to Have You in my Life!
Hello! I have three cards that I keep thinking I need to put on here, but haven't, so today and tomorrow we are taking care of that. Of the three, one is pretty, and two are silly and/or fun, so here is my thinking ... today I'll show you the pretty one today and tomorrow the other two. Here is my card for today ... enjoy!
It really is a simple card, where I basically let pretty papers, a pretty sentiment and some rhinestones complete the card. Yes, I said "some" rhinestones, but really, there are more than some! The circled sentiment needed something and so rhinestones was the key! The sentiment and flower are both from Verve stamps which is my go to stamps for pretty cards!
See you tomorrow!

March Class Share!
Hello! I am quite happy with my set of Easter cards I will be teaching at the end of the month. I feel like the creating of them went great too, as I had some visions in my head before I even started and the finished results are pretty darn close. I love it when that happens. Let me get right to it and show you my cards ...enjoy!
First, an adorable bunch of bunnies in a card in a box. First photo, shows it all folded up in a clear envelope ...
The second card is a beautiful religious card for the holiday with a stained glass window you will create ...
It opens to a special easel card ...
And another close-up ...
And the third card is a slider card. Here it is closed ...
Pull the ribbon and the basket and the special message slides upward ...
I see on the first card that I didn't show you the photo of the message panel in the back pocket. It slides out to reveal the second part of the sentiment for "Somebunny" ... "loves you". This also gives you a space to write your message. On the third card, I decided that there would be enough space to add a small message under the sentiment. I love how all three cards came out and maybe you do too? Below are the details if you are interested in coming to class at The Crafty Scrapper or would like them to hold you a kit. If this is the case, you have to sign up through them by calling 972-923-3151. If you aren't local and want me to send you a kit complete with pictures and instructions, you can let me know by emailing me at stamperfw@aol.com.

Sunday Words of Wisdom!
Hello! I had planned to write this post this morning before church, but I didn't get it finished. Of course, now I think there was a reason. Because in our program, there was a Lenten Devotional by one of the ladies. And there was a portion of it that really spoke to me and that is what I am going to share with you today. Enjoy!
Thanks Gail!

Saturday's Sketch Share!
Hello! You might think I have given up blogging or creating, I have done neither. But, this cold weather has put a halt to some of it, as I just want to sit on the couch under covers! I am so, so ready for spring! I thought teaching springtime cards would help, and it would if we could have some springtime temperatures to go with them. Today I have been working on my ideas for my next class which will be more springtime cards for Easter. And all of a sudden I clued in that today was Saturday, and I haven't written today's post for the Saturday share. So here I am. I will be showing you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!
Sorry about my card's photo. It seems I didn't get the whole card scanned so it cut off the top part. And I no longer have the card, as Debbie and I actually send our cards to each other every week. We both really liked this sketch. It should be in a go to folder, for sure! Do you like it too?
See you tomorrow.

Creative Tea Tickets!
Hello! I have mentioned a few times here on my blog that I was working on making the tea tickets for my ladies church group. I think this is the fourth year I have made tickets for our ladies tea. In the past, I simply typed this info on cardstock, cut them to about 2 x 3 1/2" and either die cutted with cardstock and pattern paper or stamped and colored in a small tea cup at the top. They were always well liked. But, this time, I really wanted to do something different. So, originally I thought I could get a friend to cut tea cups with her circuit and then I could just print the info on white and add to the top. I soon found out that the teacup shape was going to have to be pretty big for that to happen. She cut a second layer to see what it would look like and then ... the ideas started happening! Decided to do an insert but when I could see that there still might not be enough room to get all the info on it, the idea formed to do a double layer which led to making it look like a tea bag. At this point, I decided to play with the printing and different fonts to decide which way to go. I asked my friend Donna and she thought the tea bag idea was adorable and said that is what I should do. She also suggested that I dig out my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps and see if one of them would work to add flowers to the front of the tea cups. Yes, that was added work, but the result is undeniable! Let me show you ... enjoy!
And when the insert is pulled out ...
I took them to church with me this morning. They loved them! And so do I! How about you?
See you soon!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!
Hello! I am back this afternoon with the quote of the week. I think this one is a good one for me to remember. Enjoy!
Sometimes my expectations get in the way and if I would remember the above, that would help and possible not let disappointment creep in. I really am not talking about anything lately, but there has been times in the past, for sure. And I always want to be open to seeing and understanding things that can help in this life.
And speaking of my life, since I didn't go teach my classes last week because of our crazy Texas weather, I had time to make the tea tickets for my ladies church group. I am doing a separate post to show you, so look for it in a few minutes.
Happy Stamping!
