Saturday Sketch Share (On Tuesday!)

Hello!  I was so late in getting my weekly card in the mail to Debbie that I put off showing you the share until this week.  This sketch is one of the "tall and skinny" ones which means the size for both of our cards are 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". I will be showing you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I liked this one and I thought it would work will as a wider card as well as this skinny version.  The stamps I used is a set from Darcies that I bought back in January that I not inked up yet.  I love those owls!  Too cute.  Do you like the sketch?

I am working on my next class samples so I should have them to show you later in the week.

Happy Stamping!

You Make My Tail Wag!

Hello! Usually, on Saturday you see my Saturday share post. Well, it's gonna be late.  This was my teaching week so I didn't get to it until yesterday.  And then I missed the outgoing mail pick up, so I put my card in the mail for Debbie today.  She should get it on Tuesday so, look for the share here on that day too!

No worries since I have a fun card for you today.  But, first I have to tell you the story behind it.  It's kinda long, but it's a good story. If you follow me on Facebook, you already know the story.  but if you don't, then here is my story about our new dog.  It was last month when I was in the middle of prepping for my class, I took a little break and saw on Facebook that a friend from church found a Chihuahua and was trying to find a home for her.  They had figured out where she lived before, but a neighbor told them that the family had left 2 weeks before for Florida.  We have a Chihuahua and we love her (of course) but she is 13 and we had been somewhat thinking about getting another. We went and met the new dog, who is a sweet one, they were calling her Sweet Pea, for good reason. That same week we brought her home.  She was in heat so a appt. was made to get her fixed.  Now, Natalie was told by the vet that she was about 5 or 6 years old.  We had her in our home a few days before her appt. and so when I took her,  I asked if the vet could check her eyes, as we thought maybe she was blind or partially blind, as she occasionally ran into stuff.  However, we could tell she is very smart and a great listener.  But, really just wanted to know more about her.  Well, when the vet called to let me know that she was out of surgery and doing fine, he also said yes, she was critically blind, and that it was not something that could be fixed.  He also said after looking at her closer, that she was more like 8 to 10 years old.  I told him I am not giving her back.  We are so glad that she is ours and really believe she was meant for us.  I mean most people would not want to take a 8 year old, blind dog.  I guess we are not most people.  She really is a great dog. We did change her name.  We changed it to Foxy because she is red and white and one of the first days she just looked like a fox all curled up.  I guess we could have named her Lucky, but we are the lucky ones and Foxy is too!  Now, on to my card .... I have been waiting for the store to get in these dog stamps and dies from My Favorite Things, but I decided I couldn't wait anymore because I really wanted to make Natalie a thank you card.  I made it from Foxy ... Enjoy!

 Here's Foxy ...

Thanks for letting me tell my story and I hoped you liked my card.  I want to make some more cards with this cute set of stamps.  Hopefully, I can do that this next week, well, that is after I make my next class samples!  (which I have no ideas for ...yet!)

See you soon!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today for the share between Debbie and I.  Let's get right to it.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I really liked this sketch.  But, I did have trouble deciding what I could do.  In the end I decided it was a great sketch to highlight a sentiment.  It is simple but still has some interest.  I even made one more with similar papers.  I thought it would be a good one to try to sell.

See you soon!

Hope Your Day Is As Cool as You Are!

Hello!  As you know, for the last several months, every time I need a special card, I think of making a shaker card.  I needed a birthday card last week, so I did it again.  I might be a little addicted to these fun cards!  A friend of mine had an order sent to my house because she was going to be out of town.  She said I could stamp them if I wanted.  You saw one of the penguins from the set on Tuesday and this card shows another. (thanks again Karolyn!) Here is my fun shaker card ... enjoy!

I love how this one came out!  Don't you?

Wow, I love that you have seen creations every day this week!  I will see you tomorrow for the Saturday share!

Victory is Possible!

Hello! Last week and this week I have been trying to get caught up on sharing cards that I made a couple of months ago that I had not shown you.  Today, I have the last two of that group.  They are basically the same card, but are different colors.  Enjoy!

Isn't it funny that a card can look different just by the colors you use?  The main part of this card is that wonderful quote!  So true and so inspiring!

See you soon!

Masculine Simplicity!

Hello!  I am back to show you a couple more cards that I made a while back.  I am the secretary/treasurer for our United Methodist Women's group and I was asked to send a thank you note to a man that gave money to our group and also an acknowledgment of other monies received, all in memory of his mother.  They wanted me to use a note card that the church has but I said I would make them, but I would keep them simple and I did ... enjoy!

Love how they turned out.  No store bought for me!

I have two more cards to show you that I made a while ago.  See you tomorrow!

Saturday Sketch Share (late on a Tuesday!)

Hello!  Sometimes the snail mail system does not cooperate. The cards that I share on Saturday's from Debbie and I are actually sent through the mail and if some week I don't receive hers before Saturday, then my Saturday post gets delayed.  There have been a bunch of weeks that I haven't gotten mine in the mail until Thursday or Friday, which makes Debbie have to wait on it, but it doesn't affect me showing both cards on Saturday on my blog.  However Debbie got hers in the mail on Wed. which "should" have given it plenty of time for me to get it, except when the snail mail system doesn't cooperate!  I bet you know what I mean!  So, better late than never ... I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie' Card

The Sketch

I love how both cards came out.  The penguin I used is a new set from My Favorite Things but I stamped it off from a friend (thanks Karolyn!).  That "smile" that Debbie used looks to be a die, how cool is that!  What do you think of the sketch?  I kinda like it, I think.  It is great for highlighting a smaller image.

See you tomorrow!

Life is Good Triple Notecards in a Box!

Hello!  Below you will find the copy of what will be on The Crafty Scrapper's blog today.  If you saw my class share from last Wed., you would see that the trio of cards and box are very similar.  I noted why in my class share post, but in case you missed it ... I made this set first, and then was asked to teach it.  It is a little backwards but it all works.  Originally, I was going to give you the instructions on how to make the box with the We R Memory Keepers Punch Board, but now that it is also a class, I am going to wait to share those instructions.  I know you understand.  Here is the copy of my post ...

Hello, Tina here, back with a great gift idea for someone special.

I made a trio of small cards that fit perfectly in an easy to make box made with the We R Memory Keepers Punch board!

I used papers from a 6 x 6 Basic Grey pad, fun puffy stickers, stamp and die from My Favorite Things and a magnet to hold my box closed.

Here is a close up of the box ...

This box perfectly holds three to four smaller size cards.
I made my trio of cards 4 3/4" x 3 1/2 to fit in some envelopes I had in my stash.

Here is a close-up of one of the cards.  I used the Stitched Basic Edges dies from My Favorite Things.  Look closely to see the double stitched edges.  Too cool!

I designed each of my cards using a different stitched edge die and added the same embellishments as on the front of my box to make the complete set.

This is such a fun gift idea that I have been asked to teach it.
The notecard trio with box is one of three projects that I am teaching next week.
I teach both on Wed. and Sat.  Call the store for details.

Be sure to check out the box I have shown you today, when you are at the store.
All supplies are available at the store!

Sympathy and Encouragement Cards!

Hello!  As promised from yesterday, I am showing some cards that I made a while back that I haven't shown you yet.  I have three to show you today.  One is a simple sympathy card, and the other two could be for multiple occasions including sympathy, get well or just thinking of you.  Enjoy!

You know me, I am not much of a clean and simple style cardmaker, except when it comes to sympathy cards.  I love the simplicity of the sympathy one, using the cuttlebug embossing folder with white on white.  The added tiny white pearls is perfect.  I went to my sketch folder to make the other two cards.  Love them.  How about you?

See you tomorrow for the Saturday share!

Floral Prayers!

Hello!  When I make cards, I always put them on my computer so that I can put them here on the blog for you to see.  Well, it seems that I have quite a number of cards that I made a couple of months ago just sitting in a folder waiting for me to write a blog post to show you!  That is pretty darn bad.  We are going to fix that right now!  Here are a couple of pretty cards that could be for either sympathy or get well.  Enjoy!

Both are using the same set from Verve called Inspire Hope.  Love them both.  I especially love the clear vellum layer on the first card.  Just that simple layer adds interest.

I am writing a post for tomorrow, and two more for next week.  It is bad enough that I don't make cards like I should, but it even worse that I put off showing you what I have made!

Happy Stamping!

July Class Share!

Hello!  Last week I started working on my next class and finished two of the three projects, but then I had to put it on hold because family was coming for the 4th of July weekend.  I finally got it all finished this week.  I am happy to be able to share it here with you.  I try to come up with the next month's class around the time that I am teaching the current month's class so that I am at the store to be able to pick up papers, stamps and dies for the next one.  This time I really didn't have a plan on what I wanted to do next.  The same day I taught, I had brought in a project, a trio of mini note cards with a matching box, that I had made for the store's design team.  Just for fun, I showed it in my classes.  In both classes, I had requests that I teach it.  Okay, that is a beginning.  Then, while I was at the store, Carolyn, the owner, asked if I would use some pre packaged box cards in my next class.  Hmmm.... boxes ...adding one more project and we have my July class called "All Boxed in for Gifting"!  So, here are the three projects you will create.  Enjoy!

First up, is the trio of notecards with the box.  Note, because a very similar design to this is actually my design team project and it is not set to go live on the store's blog until the 13rh, I am giving you only a group photo ...

The next project is to create this little covered tissue box, perfect to give as a get well treat ...
The front ...

And then with the front easel up ...

And lastly, I used the pre-packaged box cards with nautical papers and dies.  The front as it will be seen as it comes out of the envelope ...

 When opened ...

And this shows the backside of the box where the pull out message card will be ...

Here are the details, if you are interested in coming to class or would like a kit ...

All Boxed In for Gifting! - Wed. July 22md 11:00 a.m. and Sat. July 25th 2:30 p.m.  $28
You will be creating projects perfect for gift giving.  First, a trio of mini note cards with envelopes and a matching box that they fit into. Next, a tissue holder for a get well gift.  And lastly, the store got in some packaged pop up box cards and we will be using them to create a nautical themed box card in a different size than we have done before.  Please bring the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board (if you have one), adhesive to include scor-tape (1/8"), pop- up dots, detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  All other supplies provided. Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  Happy 4th of July!  I have the share between Debbie and I with 4th of July cards (of course)!  And at the end, I am also sharing a card I got in the mail from a stamping friend!  First, the share ... I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Most of my patriotic papers and stamps are at my friend, Donna's house.  She and I usually get together at her house to make cards for the troop boxes that we send through Blue Star Mothers.  But, I did have the stamp of the little patriotic dude, which just makes me smile.  I thought of doing stars instead of the circles, like Debbie did, but I knew with adding the "dude" on top, the circles would be just fine.  I love the patterns of the papers that both Debbie and I used and I am sure, that like mine, they were from a patriotic  line of paper .... BUT, I so wish they would do red, WHITE, and blue, not red, CREAM, and blue!  Just my 2 cents!

Now, for my additional share! I got this card in the mail from my stamping friend, Betty.  I loved it so, I just had to share it with you!  Thanks Betty!

We are off to a parade in our neighborhood with a hot dog lunch, might do a little flea marketing at Canton later today and then tonight .... fireworks!  Love the holiday!

Happy 4th!
Happy Stamping!
