Saturday's Sketch Share!

Happy Halloween!  I am back today with two more Halloween cards for you, one from Debbie, and one from me for this week's sketch share!  Let's get right to it ... enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Great sketch!  So many possibilities, as you can see with our two cards.  On mine, I did my main image on the larger panel and added a sentiment on the other, and Debbie did just the opposite on her card!  You could also just do designer papers on the two panels.  This one is a keeper, and I am sure you will see it from me again!  Positively DeFrightfull!  (Hee, Hee!)

I have been trying to work on my next class samples for a couple of days ... I say trying because my creative mojo must be off, as everything I try, I don't like.  I think because I should have them done already is putting pressure on me and is not helping.  Today, I hope will be better!

I love Halloween and have so many great memories from childhood to adult!  I hope you have a great one!

Happy Stamping!

Boo-Frickity-Hoo!

Hello!  I am back this afternoon with another Halloween card for you.  If you missed this morning, be sure to check it out, and also the two I had for you yesterday!  This one is a favorite, for sure.  I borrowed a spider web die from a friend because I had in mind that it would make a cool shaker card.  You know how I love to make those cards now!  Let me show you ... enjoy!

I had to figure out how it would work, as it was actually made to be a stand alone die cut, not one that you would cut out of paper, but I played around with it and as you can see, it works just fine!  And cute, too!  The spider is a plastic embellishment but it works.  I needed a sentiment for the card, so adding the little ghost die allowed me to go with the Boo-Frickity-Hoo sentiment, which I love!  What do you think?

See you tomorrow for the Saturday share with more Halloween fun!

Bats About You!

Hello! I am back this morning with another Halloween card for you.  This was uses some pattern paper with bats and a cute bat stamp from My Favorite Things ... enjoy!

I love the design of this card but my only regret is that I wish I would have used a lighter grey on the bat, as that dark grey makes it hard to see the details of the bat.  Still cute!  You think?

I will see you later this afternoon with another Halloween card!

A Halloween Hello!

Hello!  I am back with my second Halloween post of the day!  If you missed the one this morning, be sure to scoll down and check it out.  I own this set of stamps from My Favorite Things, but I don't own the matching dies, but my friend does!  Yippee, for that, as being able to die cut the pieces just makes this card.  Enjoy!

And here is another, with a slight variation ...

Which one is your favorite? I love the frog one ... so adorable!

See you tomorrow for two more Halloween cards, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon!  I am off to my "shack" to work on my class samples!

Happy Stamping!

Just Be-gauze!

Hello!  Well, this week got away from me ... between me trying to "chill" after my big class I taught last week and off with my husband to do lots of errands, I am just now getting on here to show you the Halloween cards I made a while back.  Next, is to get them in the mail today!  I have 4 different ones to share before Saturday, so I am showing you one now, and another later today, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon!  It is, what it is!  I will also have one more Halloween card on Saturday for the sketch share!  Here is the first one ... enjoy!

You know how I love silly wording ... just be-gauze!  Hee, Hee!  You have seen this sketch before, as it is a favorite of mine.  Cute, huh?

See you later today for another!

Saturday's Sketch Share + a 1/2 (On Sunday!)

Hello!  I went off yesterday (in the rain) to teach my class at a friend's house and today I am off to Waxahachie after church to teach the last big class.  I have never taught on a Sunday, but I had to change it from Saturday as they were supposed to have a big festival on the square yesterday.  With the rain coming down, don't know how they did.  Anyway, I totally forgot to do my blog post.  My friends mentioned it and I said, oh, yeah, I did forget!  So, I have yesterday's share for you today and also, my card for last week's sketch.  You might remember I was in the middle of prepping for this crazy class and didn't make my card.  So, here you go ... this week's first, mine and then Debbie's and the sketch, and then mine from last week and a reminder sketch ... enjoy!

My Card for Last Week

Reminder of Last Week's Sketch
Did you see that this week's cards by both Debbie and I are about feet?  Monster feet, and witches feet!  Too funny!  I am not sure Debbie liked the sketch, but I do.  And this size is really kinda fun, since I have gotten used to them.  The front is 3 1/2 inches wide by the normal 5 1/2 inches tall.  I am also glad I got last week's card done.  I love how mine came out!  Both cards use two stamps that are new to me this year.  I just can't resist cute Halloween stamps.

I made a few Halloween cards back in September, so I will be showing you those this week!

Happy Stamping!

P.S.  This rain is crazy!  We have been in a drought for months.  No more, because in the last 3 days we have had about 15 inches!  Stay dry and stamp!

1/2 of Saturday's Sketch Share and More!

Hello!  I don't have my card made for today's share but I do have Debbie's card and the sketch.  I promise next Saturday to have 1 and a half for you.  On Wednesday, I went to get the tooth that was bothering me last week extracted.  Crazy thing is that I ended up getting a broken one behind it extracted too.  And unbelievably, I have had no pain!  It's amazing!  So, other than Wednesday, I have spent every waking moment on this class I am teaching next week.  I really overdid it this time, for sure.  Thankfully, my BFF, Donna came to my house two days this week to help me.  I have a couple of photos to share ... the first one shows all the cardstock pieces cut, die cut and stamped ready ...

Because I have to have die cut pieces for all the kits, that means that everything I stamp or die cut, has to be done 68 times!  I am pretty much done with the die cutting, the stamping, and all the cardstock cutting.  But, not it is time to go to the 6 x 6 pad cutting.  Here is a photo of the sheets ready to be cut ... look at that stack!

I am going to start this today.  I am going to have to leave the t.v. off because if I make a mistake, I am in trouble.  Wish me luck!

Now, let's do half of the share with Debbie's card ... enjoy!

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I love Debbie's card.  These crazy birds stamps by Tim Holtz are so fun.  I haven't purchased them because they are a little big for my liking!  But, pretty darn cute!  Great card!  And great sketch too.  I know exactly what I want to stamp on the circle, just gotta get past Wednesday's class to have time to make my card!

I think there might still be two spots left in my classes.  I am hoping they get filled or it's possible that someone would like to  purchase and extra kit.  That happens a lot.

Take care!  See you soon!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  Wow, I am glad to be here today for the share.  On Wed. I started having a toothache and it got worse and worse, so much that I did not sleep at all Wed. night.  Called a dentist first thing on Thursday. got me right in, set me up to extract the tooth next Wed., gave me a prescription to fill and sent me on my way. But, things didn't go as planned as that prescription pill made me sick, so I called the dentist again and got something else.  Finally, Friday morning, I realized I might actually live to see another day.  I rarely have anything wrong, but when I do, it is bad.  Thanks for listening.  On to today's cards, both cute Halloween ones!  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

Yes, another shaker card from me!  I love them and I can't stop making them!  I really like this sketch too!  What do you think?

I am a little freaked out with the time I missed prepping this week for my next class, but I still have a week and a half, so it should be okay.  Oh, and by the way, I found out that there are still a few spots left, if interested.

See you soon!

Chrstmas Organizer! (And a How-To)!

Hello!  Today I have a project I am showing over on The Crafty Scrapper's design team blog.  They really like their blog posts to be short and sweet, unlike my blog.  So, today I have the couple of photos I showed there plus several more and I also have the measurements and a bit of a how-to.  They gave me a bunch of sheets of 12 x 12 papers, a 6 1/2 inch pad and a package of die cut shapes all from Kaisercraft, A Touch of Gold line.  I thought that maybe I should come up with something more than just  a card.  So, of course, I went looking for ideas on Pinterest.  And this is the result.  First, let me share with you some photos ....enjoy!

Here is the holiday organizer closed ...

And here it is fully opened ...

This next one shows how it folds ...

Backside of  the whole organizer ...

Close-up of one of the pages.  This is one of two pages that has a pocket to hold stuff  ...

The next photo is a side view to show you the closure ...

These two little die cuts were used to help create the closure ...

Before I get to the measurements and the how-to, did you see the inserts in the pockets?  I found these on a website and they are free to download.  Here is their address .... www.organizedchristmas.com.  And go here for the direct link to the planner printables.  My planner is made similar to one that is showed on this website but of course, I made a few changes to make it work for me.

The planner is made with two 12 x 12 pieces of cardstock for the base.  I found cardstock in my stash that has a shimmer on one side and that is what I used, but any would work fine.

1.Take the first piece of cardstock and trim off 1 1/2" from one side.  Without turning cardstock, score at 3 1/2" and 7".  Rotate the sheet and score at 8 1/2".  Fold this flap up.  This will create the bottom pocket for the right side of the organizer.  The vertical lines are folded one valley and one mountain.  Set this sheet aside.
2.  Take the second piece of cardstock and score it at 3 1/2", 4", 7 3/4", and 8 1/4".  Turn your sheet so that the smallest vertical portion is on the right hand side.  Now, you will want to make a score line at 8 1/2" across the bottom.  You will cut off the bottom right hand square.  Here is a visual.

3.  Do you see on sheet above where I say add the tape?  Add score tape around the perimeter of this rectangle only.  Adhere the first prepared sheet of cardstock on it's left side to this rectangle with adhesive.  You will now have a long folded organizer.  Now, you will want to add some scor-tape to the pocket portion where the horizontal score line is and also create a pen holder.  See photo ...

Before folding the pocket up, I added paper to each section as shown in the photo below...

Note, I used some of the paper pad sheets.  They didn't come all the way down to the score line, but it didn't matter because when the flap goes up, it covers it.

That is pretty much it.  You just keep covering the sections and decorate as desired.  I printed the labels on my printer and then die cut them out with Spellbinders Labels 4.  I do want to tell you how the closure came about because my original idea was to use a couple of the Basic Grey magnets, but so many thick papers just didn't keep it closed good enough, so in the end, I went with the ribbon closure idea.  I like it!  Oh, the pockets ... I made envelopes with the We R Memory Keepers punch board and then made each into an envy, cut off one side and glued the open part down.  These made for perfect pockets!  One last thing, I added some gold striped washi tape from my stash to cover up some of the spots where there were some gaps!  It is paper so it is NEVER perfect!

I hope that I explained the steps so you can understand them and so you can make yourself a holiday organizer.  If you have questions, let me know, and I will do my best to help you!

See you tomorrow for the sketch share!
Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another share between Debbie and I.  Crazy thing is that I made my card early in the week and sent it to Debbie but I forgot to scan it first.  No worries because Debbie sent it to me in an email.  Thank goodness the mail was running on time this week, as she just received one of my cards yesterday that was sent two weeks ago!  Okay, on to the cards.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

The Sketch
So, mine looks a little "yellow", and that is what I get for not scanning my card before I put it in the mail!  I like the sketch, and I think Debbie did too!  What do you think?

Now, that it is October, I do have some Halloween cards I made last month on my camping trip with Donna that I can show you, so look for them soon!
