February Catch Up = 3 Cards!

Hello!  I have three cards that got made in this month, that I haven't shown you.  So, today, you get all three.  The first is the patriotic card I made for Blue Star Mothers that we added to the troop boxes.  Next, is a birthday card I made for a friend at church, and lastly is a belated birthday card I made.
Enjoy!

A couple of comments ... the patriotic one, I love how it came out.  I saw this card on Pinterest where they did the cardstock this way and then ran it thru the large star embossing folder.  I own that folder, but I liked the smaller stars better and I also think I changed the size of the blue to make it look more realistic.  The stamp is from Verses.  So, that you could still see the flag, I embossed the sentiment on vellum.  The next card, the birthday one, also uses a sentiment from Verses! I think I bought three stamps from there, and here are two of them.  I actually "own" more of their stamps as they are a company I carried at my store, but the difference is that now they are doing cling mounts instead of wood mounts.  Crazy, how things do change!  Oh, in case you were wondering, the butterflies are from Hero Arts.  The last card, is pretty yucky, in my opinion.  But, good or bad, I always share what I make for you.

This week I am working on next month's class samples and I have to get cards made for two ladies at church that I promised some to.

See you soon!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I have to make today's post short and sweet.  I am teaching today but I am leaving early to go to go to a brunch where the Blue Star Mothers group I am involved with, meets.  They are honoring us today.  So, right to it ... I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I had a really hard time cutting the pieces for my card, to get it to look like the sketch.  Looking at Debbie's card, it seems simple, as both us matched the sketch!  I wanted to use that sentiment, as I was also making a second card for a friend at church.  But, when the first one gave me a hard time, I nixed that idea, and made a different card for the friend.  I will show you that one tomorrow or the next day.  What do you think of the sketch?

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  Now, that Bible Journaling is all the craze, there seems to be more photos out there with pretty hand drawn like pictures with bible verses.  So, I picked this one for you today ... enjoy!

This is my teaching week, but I have a couple of cards made to share with you, so hopefully I will be back sometime in the week.

Have a great day!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello! I am back today with the share between Debbie and I.  Today's sketch is one of the tall and skinny versions, so instead of the A2 size, it measures 3 1/2" by 5 1/2".  Let's get to it.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I am not sure this is my favorite sketch, but it works, I guess.  One thing that seems to always happens when I am making these skinny versions is that I underestimate how much smaller my main image needs to be.  You wouldn't think that 3/4 of an inch could make that much difference, but it does.  What do you think of this week's cards and sketch?

There is a scrapbook convention going on this weekend but I resisted.  Last month with two stamp conventions, I really didn't have extra money and this one costs a lot just to get in the door.  I think the parking is $12 to $15 plus the $8 admission and that is with a $2 off coupon!  I am taking today to get started on next week's class prepping!

See you tomorrow for words of wisdom.

Ewe Complete Each Other! (Part 2 of Valentine share!)

Hello!  Yesterday, I had several Valentines that I gave or received to show you.  Today, I have one more.  This one I made for my niece and her new hubby (married in December).  I know she says that the hubby, Ryan,  likes my cards, so it was really fun to do one for the two of them.  It is cutesy card but I knew that would be no problem, as they have a fun outlook on life, don't have to be serious!  Here is my card ... enjoy!

It is very hard to see in the scanning of my card the detail on the sheep.  I added white fun flock so they would be "sheepy"!  (No, I know that isn't a read word!)  Here is a close-up ...

Their wedding back in December had a Star Wars theme, as they married the same weekend the movie came out.  A couple of weeks ago, my friend, Donna and I were at Canton, and I found the giant Pez dispenser of Darth Vader.  I had to get it!  The funny part is that I after I got home and was showing it to Gary did I realize that when his head is pulled back to dispense the Pez candies, his eyes flash and he plays the Star Wars movie theme!  OMG, how awesome it that!  I knew it would be a fun Valentine gift to send them.  Below is a photo, not the best, as I didn't think to take the picture until I was packing it up to send, but enough you can get the idea ...

I got a text and they liked "Darth"! And their card!   Yippee!

One last share about a Valentine ... I wanted to tell you that the Hallmark card Gary got for me has our card maker influence all over it.  The flowers look water colored, and they added glitter and rhinestones!!  Yep,  He picked that one for that reason.  And I love it!

See you soon!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  As you know, the last several weeks I have done a Valentine card for the Saturday's share.  The first one I did, Debbie thought it was a little early to do Valentines, well it is not too early anymore!  We both have Valentine cards for you today.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

Let's talk about Debbie's card ... OMG, you know I LOVE shaker cards!  She did something that I have never thought to do ...instead of just adding a few sequins so it shakes, she filled her heart so it is puffy and really stands out!  Love this idea.  I went with another PI girl.  When I first cut away the "rest of her", I wasn't sure if I cut too much away, but once I added the stickles to the hearts, I decided I liked it!  What do you think about today's Valentines?

I will be back tomorrow with a "love quote" and a couple of Valentines I received.

Happy Stamping!

Okay! Light the Candles!

Hello!  Yesterday, I showed you a card made for a friend of mine I have known for over 50 years. Today's card is one I made for a friend I have known since 7th grade, and that is a mere 40+ years!  Again, hard to get rid of me!  My friend that I made today's card for, is older than me by just 3 months, so it is fitting that I do an "old" humorous card for her!  I think you will like this one ...

How fun!  Makes me laugh every time I look at it!  You?

I will see you tomorrow for the sketch share!

Your a Friend, Like Gnome One Else!

Hello! Today and tomorrow, I will have a couple of birthday cards I made for friends last week.  Today's card was made for my oldest friend ... not because she is old in age, but because I have known her since kindergarten ...which means over 50 years!  Needless to say, that once you are a friend of mine, it is hard to get rid of me!  Here is the card ... enjoy!

This stamp set is one of my favorites!  It is so cute!  And you know I love puny sentiments!  I like how this one came out.  How about you?

See you tomorrow!

My February Class Share!

Hello!  Gosh, it seemed like it took me forever to decide what to make for my February class and then how to make them and then how to get them where I loved them.  If you follow me on Pinterest, you know I have been going "pinning crazy"!  Easter falling early in the year and at the end of March, right at the time I would be teaching my March class, has forced me to do Easter cards for my February class.  The store fortunately had gotten in a couple of Easter paper lines early so that helped.  And, I got some new stuff at the Inky Antics booth at the last convention, combining it with some other product they had on their shelf and some I had, made this work.  I really love how all three cards came out.  I hope you do too!  Enjoy!

This first card features a new stamp set and product from Inky Antics.  I made my card a vertical joy fold type card.  Here is the front ...

And then when it opens, you see the inside and you see a "scratch off" area that when scratched gives you the answer to the riddle above!  I  know you want the answer ... "A honey bunny, just like you!"  I couldn't resist adding a penny, too cute!

The second card is a diorama card.  All the ones I saw were short and fat.  I of course, had to make some changes.  This one is vertical and not as fat, and when closed will fit into a square envelope which I will provide for the class.  Here is the front ...

The next photo shows the above view so that you can see the "diorama" ...

And on the backside, there is a place to write your sentiment ...

The third card is a religious one, which I always think an Easter card class should have.  I love all the bunnies but Easter is really not about the bunnies!  Impression Obsession, a company that the store carries, had some new cross dies coming out, but I knew they wouldn't be here in time for me to make a sample card.  I decided to go with one of the cross dies I already own (I own 3 cross sets!), thinking that any cross could substitute for the one I am using.   Here is the front ...

The most special part of this card is the inside.  It is called a pop-up book, as that is what it looks like.  To me, it could be a bible.

What do you think?  I love all three cards!  The class details are below, if you are interested.  Remember, the store or I can always send you a kit if you aren't local or can't come to class.  All the pieces are stamped, cut, scored, etc. just ready for you to put them together!

Happy Easter 2016!  Wed. Feb. 24th 11 a.m. and Sat. Feb. 27th 2:30 p.m. $28

You will make three Easter cards, all with fun and creative folds.  First, is a joy fold card featuring Scratch Offs, a brand new concept from Inky Antics and their adorable stamps.  Next, is a diorama card with the cutest little bunny.  And then the third card, is a religious card that looks like a book when opened.  All three will be perfect to give to that special someone.  Please bring adhesive to include scor-tape (any size), small pop ups, scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  (Copics I used: card 1: Y15, BG10, E41, RV21/RV10, C0, card 2: RV10, C0.  All other supplies provided.

I have three cards that I made last week, that I need to get on here to show you, but I thought this was the most important since my class is now just two weeks away!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another share between Debbie and I.  First, you will see my card, then Debbie's, and then the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Did you see my cheat?  The sketch had the round image on the right, but I put mine on the left.  It just would not fit, so I said, okay, I am making the change!  When Tim Holtz came out with the "Crazy Birds", I thought they were too big for my cardmaking tastes, but now, he has smaller ones!  Debbie you are enabling me ... I kinda like them!  Two cute Valentine cards today!

Friends Make Life Blossom!

Hello!  I have a birthday card to share with you today.  I am using a new set of poppy flowers from My Favorite Things that I got back at the after Christmas sale.  They are perfect to color which I did for this card ...enjoy!

In the same stamp set, there are some nice sentiments, but I needed one about friends, so I used this one from a stamp set from Just Rite.  I really like how this card came out and I know the recipient liked it too!

See you tomorrow for the Saturday share!

Love Sampler!

Hello!  Today I have a project featured on The Crafty Scrapper blog.  I have seen some really fun wall samplers of papers and embellishments, so I decided to try making one myself.  It was a fun project to allow me to be creative.  Below, is my "love" themed project!

Fun, right?  The base is a canvas board which I added cardstock panels and then did squares of DP with the Carta Bella Amour 6 x 6 pad.  I used some fun foam underneath each square to give it some depth. Then I went to adding fun, heart embellishments including a heart from a pink honeycomb pad, and  a shaker heart with sequins and beads inside. You can also see lots of items from Maya Road, like the clear vase, the gold charms, and the felt rose.  Even the "love" is a die from them.  I die cut several out and layered them in a stack for more depth!  Which square is your favorite?
