Praying For You Cards Week 2!

Hello!  Today I am showing you the second set of cards I made for the church "gig" of making and sending 8 praying for you cards weekly to a church in Fort Worth.  Today's card is using one Spellbinders cross and die cutting and creating with the negative cut away image. To have variety and so that I wouldn't get bored making every card just alike.  I put different colors of paper behind each panel.  I used a 6 x 6 pad I have had that has never had a sheet torn out to be used until now.  Yipee, using what I have!  I have two photos for you.  One close-up and one showing all the cards.  Enjoy!

I love how all of these came out.  See you tomorrow for the next set of cards I have to show you.

Happy Stamping!

Praying for You Cards Week 1!

Hello!  I am continuing on with showing you many creations that I have made in the last several months that I have not shown you here.  All of this week, I will be showing you sets of 8 cards that I created for the request I talked about last week for a church in Fort Worth that was interested in praying for you cards.  I was told that I could do the same card for the eight but you know me, it is hard to do that.  So, like with today's cards, I did I think 4 of the first card and then 2 each of 2 other similar ones to create the 8 cards.  Today's cards features a pretty tulip.  I do want to say that I made this set in probably March, so the tulip was right in the season of Spring.  Enjoy ...

The fun part about the last 4 cards (2 sets of 2) are that you die cut the two panels at the same time and this creates 2 cars. It such a simple but pretty idea.  The first card is pretty too, but not as simple.  And since I am only getting paid $3 per card, I have to do simple.  Love how all of these came out.  I will see you tomorrow for the next set!

Praying for You Sample 5!

Hello!  Today's card is five of five of sample cards that I spoke about in Monday's post.  This card is not quite as simple as the others, but it is pretty!  Enjoy!

I had just a few scraps of this lovely scrapbook paper leftover from a class and was so glad I could make it work for the card.

Continuing the story from Monday ... the lady liked the cards I sent for samples.  She changed the weekly amount to 8 and said I could each week do the same or different.  Tomorrow, I will be back to show you the first week of cards I sent.

Praying for You Sample 4!

Hello!  I am back today with four of the five cards I have for you for the samples sent.  Check out Monday's post for more info on the "why"!  Today's card is simple but so elegant.  Enjoy!

So, the die cut is from Memory Box.  This die cut cuts the flower out but for my card, I use the negative space that it cut away from the white panel. That space between the two flowers fell out but I taped it back in on the backside to get the full effect!  Don't you love this idea?

See you tomorrow for card #5!

Praying for You Sample 3!

Hello! Back with card #3 of five.  I explained the "why" on Monday.  I hope you enjoy today's card!

Even though this one is simple, it does have some interest with the background cardstock being embossed and the die cut of the pretty window.

Praying For You Sample 2!

Hello!  I am back today with another simple praying for you card.  If you missed yesterday's post, check it out, because I gave the "why" of today's card.  Enjoy!

The ink background and the cardstock color is actually more of a green to match the ribbon. Not sure why this happens when you change the exposure setting sometimes.  That butterfly is a favorite of mine.  It is from Hero Arts.

See you tomorrow for card #3!

Praying For You Sample 1!

Hello!  I am back with more catching up.  Back in February, I got an email from a lady in Fort Worth asking if I could make praying for you cards for her church.  She originally said she would need 12 a week and asked me what I would charge.  I first told her $4 each, as that is what I usually charge,  Well, I think she didn't want to go as high as $4 and so after some back and forth, I told her I could do cards with less layers, in a more simple design than what I usually make and could do $3 instead.  I told her I could send her some examples.  So, for the next 5 days, I have the cards I sent her. Card 1 ... enjoy!

This one does have one DP layer and then one other layer, but still on the simple side.  Love this Verve set.

See you tomorrow for card #2!

Love Pallet!

Hello!  Back in January, I think it was, I participated in a design team challenge using a Maya Road's Wood Pallet.  For some reason, I never posted this on my blog.  So, since I am in the middle of doing catch up on just that, today's the day!  Enjoy!

I am not sure it shows in the photo, but I did add a  white acrylic wash on the wood. I love the wood showing, but wanted it to be more subdued. I kept it simple adding DP, Maya Road dies, and flowers. Pretty, I think!

I will be back on Monday to continue with more catch up creations for you!

Corner Pop Up Book - Patriotic Style!

Hello!  Today, I have a mini book on The Crafty Scrapper's blog.  I haven't had a chance to participate in a while, so I was so glad to get back to creating for them.  I used a great patriotic line called Live Free from Photoplay.  The premise for my little patriotic mini is a corner pop -up, of which I taught in a class, I think last year.  So, this is 4 of those glued together to create one little mini book!  The patriotic quotes I used I printed on my computer, but in this little book you could add notes, photos, or whatever you would like.  I have photos of each of the pages and also photos of the step by step to create the corner pop up card.  Enjoy!

The above photo is the best view to show you how the book does when open.  Here are close-ups of the pages you can't see....

I added the same paper on the back side as the front ...

Below are the details on the how-to!  Start with a piece of cardstock that is 8 1/2" square.

You can see hopefully, on the photo above, where to score and cut.  Fold in half in both directions.  And then make a cut only to the middle.  And then one diagonal score from the cut line to the corner.
Fold on the diagonal.  Open it back up and get ready for step one ...

Step One:  Fold top section downward.

Step Two: Fold diagonal section upward, creating an "L".

Step Three: The panel on the right gets folded to the left.  .

Step Four: Adhesive is added.

Step 5: Top panel is folded down and gets adhered to panel with tape.

Step Six: Open it up and you have created a corner pop up card or in this case, page 1 of 4!

The idea I saw had four different cardstock colors for the book.  I copied this idea to create some interest.  I added two small holes on the front and back cover and added twine from my stash to give the book a closure.

I hope you like my patriotic mini and hopefully, the how-to is clear enough that you can create one too!  Let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Stamping!

60th Tree of Love!

Hello!  As I mentioned yesterday, the card today is the second of two custom requests for a friend at church.  Today's card was for a 60th wedding anniversary.  My friend said she saw some idea with a tree that had a heart in the trunk with their initials.  Of course, she said I could do anything, it did not have to be that idea.  But, you know me, I did it!  Check it out ... enjoy!

I love how this one came out.  The die is from Impression Obsession.  It is actually only half of the tree but die cutting it twice created a full tree!  The heart is a die too.  But, don't remember who makes it,, if you want me to find it, let me know.  I did the inside sentiment on the computer.  So happy that I found the word "grow" for it to be perfect!

Tomorrow, I will be interrupting my many blog posts of past cards made to bring you a new little mini with a how-to that will be also on The Crafty Scrapper's blog.  So, make sure you come back for that!  And then, on Saturday, I have another design team project that didn't get shown to you when it should have.  Then on Monday, I am back to more blog posts of past cards!

See you tomorrow!

Lifetime of Adventures!

Hello!  Before I get to today's card, I want to let you know I am going to do my best in getting caught up on every card or creative thing I have made since December that I have not written a blog post on!  I have started the process by uploading every creation to separate blog entries that I need to go back and add a few words to.  There are over 40!  So, you will have some summer creativity heading your way!

Today's card is one of two that were custom requests from a friend at church.  I will show you the second one tomorrow.  This one was for someone getting married but I was told they were very non traditional and they were off on some kind of outdoorsy honeymoon.  This is what I came up with ...enjoy!

The inside sentiment says it all!  In case you are wondering, the camp set is from My Favorite Things.  It had never been inked up, and I was glad to make that happen!

See you tomorrow!

June Class Share!

Hello!  I finished my class samples earlier in the week but I am just now getting them on here to show you.  The store got in new product from Inky Antics. New stamps and these scratch and sniff stickers that you can put onto the stamped images and then the recipient can scratch and sniff!  So fun!  I just love them.  And I love how my cards came out.  I hope you do too!  Enjoy!

First up, is "chocolate"!  I had an idea about doing a box of chocolates.  I looked everywhere for ideas but did not find any.  I did find one idea with a donut box.  I changed their idea by doing different papers and created this ....

And of course, the box opens, so you can "scratch and sniff"!

And here is the inside ...

Second card is "Peanut Butter"!  You know me I like to find papers to match my card theme.  When I saw these papers with strawberries, I decided I should do a peanut butter and jelly card.  So, for this card, the scratch and sniff is on the peanut butter jar.  This card is a fun fold too!

Here it is open, showing the inside ...

The last card is "Popcorn"!  Also, for this card, we will be using Lawn Fawn's new Magic Card Slider Die for the main image on the front (love this!)...

When you pull the tab up, it is "magic"!

And for the inside, I added a fun birthday sentiment to match ...

If you are interested in coming to class or getting a kit, here are the details...
Scratch & Sniff Fun!  Friday, June 23rd 11:00 a.m. and 7 p.m.  $28
Come make three unique and creative cards that will be so fun for the recipient to get because each one features scratch and sniff stickers that when scratched will smell just like the card theme!  Now, that is FUN!  On one of the cards, I will be using the new Lawn Fawn Magic Slider Card dies for the main image.  These new dies make this favorite mechanism so easy!  Please bring your basic kit to include 1/8" scor-tape, detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  (Copics I used: card 1: E41 & RV14, E49 & E57, E25, E77 & Y26, card 2: E51, E55, E35, C0, N3, G82, card 3: BG53, R46, Y13, Y15)

Call The Crafty Scrapper at 972-923-3151.

Note, because the store has their Saturdays full, I opted to teach a Friday night class.  For those of you who didn't know, I am back on the job hunt, so I figure I can do a weekday class too.  But to help on cost savings of gas money, I thought I would teach the weekday class on the same Friday.  So, pick your favorite time.  I really hope you can come. And don't forget, if you aren't local or can't come, you can always get a kit.

One other note, I told you a while back, I would be trying to catch up on showing you my creations.  Well, tonight I finally uploaded every card that I have created that I haven't shown you.  And it adds up to about a month worth of posts.  You will see me back here soon!

Happy Stamping!
