You Hoo!

Today's card is a redo! Most cards I make I love and either send them out right away or have them in my stash when I might need them. But, there are those few ... Today's card was actually made on Feb. 17th. You can see it here. I remember when I made it, I thought the pattern paper made the whole card look too busy but I posted it anyway. When I started tearing the flower image off, the pattern paper got torn so I took it off too. I found a different scrapbook paper to use that still worked with the lime and pink but was a little more subtle. From there I decided to go with a belated birthday theme. Yes, it seems that even though I am making a lot of cards, many more than I ever made in the 14 years of owning the store, I still can't seem to always send cards when I should. In fact, right now, I think there are at least 4 birthday cards I should have sent and those are the ones that had birthdays in the last couple of weeks. So, if you had a birthday, this is a card for you!

Can you believe how much better this card looks just by making a few changes? Which brings to mind, something that happened the other day when I was in my room creating this weeks cards. I had finished stamping and had the layout in front of me of a particular card. My 11 year old granddaughter comes in and says something about me being finished with the card. Well, I didn't see it as finished yet because I just didn't like how it looked, even though there was nothing wrong with how it looked. The creative process is like that. So, in the case of this card, I guess it just needed a little more of that creative process!

Recipe:

Paper - Floral by Cosmo Cricket DeLovely Mini Deck, Dotted Pink by Bazzill, Lime Green Swirl Glitter Paper by K & Co., Cardstock White, Lime Green
Stamps - Owl by Woodware, Branch & Yoo Hoo by Hero Arts, Party Hat by The Paper Company, Hoot Sentiment by Inky Antics
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Marvy Matchable Yellow Green - note: the branch was stamped in this light green and then overcolored with colored pencils.)
Die Cuts/Punches - Martha Stewart Border Punch, Classic Scalloped Circle & Classic Circle Nestiblites
Other - Ribbon by May Arts, Button, Quicky Glue Pen, Art Institute Crystal Glitter (on party hat), Flower by Petaloo

That is it for the cards for this week. My next card will post on Monday. And then on Tuesday is another Texas Tues-Step from the Texas team this time with a very special treat. You see, Mark with Deadbeat Designs, sent a stamp to everyone in the team so that we will each be showing a card using the same stamp. I can't wait until Tuesday to see what everyone has come up with. Have a great weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Live, Love, Laugh!

Hello! I did a little experimentation with the Stampin' Up embossing folder Square Lattice. Now, you know I have no association with Stampin' Up and pretty much the opposite since I owned a retail stamp store. But, since closing my store, I am free to use and experiment with any product out there. I have said before I think this folder makes the paper look handmade, but recently I saw a card that had a look of toile. I think that look was created by the flowers they stamped before they ran it through the embossing folder. I went looking through my stamps for something similar. I wish I now had kept some of the Anna Griffith stamps because her stamps have that kind of look. But instead, I stamped a few backgrounds and then ran each through the folder. I found that the background stamps that are not as solid work better. I will show you those but first, I will show you the card I made with the one I tried and liked the best ... enjoy!

The marble and the lace pattern both made it very hard to see the embossing of the folder. The background pattern by JudiKins I liked a little better. And then I tried the Hero Arts background and decided it was the best. I went with a card layout I have done in the past. I think it is one of my favorites. I like this layout done vertically and horizontally. There is just something about those half circles on either end that I love! For today's card, I went with the sentiment that is basically my motto for life. It is a very simple card, that I will be able to use for many occasions.

Recipe -

Paper - Die Cuts with a View Summer Dream Matstack, Cardstock White, Wine
Stamps - Background stamp on half circles by Hero Arts Flowers & Butterflies, Sentiment by American Art Stamp
Ink - Adirondack Cranberry, Versafine Majestic Blue
Die Cuts/Punches - Classic Scalloped Circle, Classic Circle, Classic Scalloped Oval, Labels 6 Nestiblities
Other - Baubles by unknown (found at scapbook convention)

I will have one more card for you this week. So, be sure to come back by tomorrow!
Happy Stamping!

Her birthday is actually not until the 15th of August but because all the family is coming for the weekend. we will be celebrating her birthday while they are here! I found some paper and some brads both with a really cute princess theme. Here is what I came up with. I know today's card is very simple but it is for a 5 year old! I hope you enjoy it anyway ...
For the inside, I cut out a castle and layered it with my favorite sentiment to put on a child's card.

No Spring Chicken!

Hello! The last two days I have spent a lot of time out in my room doing a lot of creating. In the last two days, I have made six cards! Wow! All the family (my hubby's 3 children and 5 grandchildren) will be here beginning Thursday for our yearly family reunion weekend so I knew that I would have to get cards made ahead of time. Be sure to stop by for the next four days and next Monday and Tuesday to see the creations! On to today's card ... I needed another 50th birthday card but since I have used the old lady and her walker stamp twice, I really wanted to go with a different design, so looking through my stamps, I came across this "talking" chicken with a perfect "old" sentiment! Here is my card ... enjoy!

And the inside ...
I really love how it came out! Whatcha think?

Trust God!

Hello! Did you wonder what happened to me this week? I was dealing with some personal stress issues and when I am like that, my stamping mojo is just not existent. I know you can relate. Today, I got myself back to my room to create a couple of cards for you and me! Occasionally on some of the blogs, I see how they use black and white pattern papers along with a pattern paper of another color and I always think how striking that look is. So, a friend got me out of the house last night and "made" me go to the scrapbook store ... made me, yea right! Anyway, while there I hunted down some black and white pattern papers so I could try this look. The two sentiments I used are to remind me to trust God! I love how they came out ...enjoy!

Note that the flower on the second card is the exact same color as the paper. I have no idea why it scanned differently. I tried it more than once and it came out the same. I also wanted to let you know to find black and white designs a good place to look is in the wedding section. That is where I found 2 of the 3 papers I got!

This coming weekend (Thursday thru Monday), we are having the family reunion at our house. One weekend a year, all the family comes together which include Gary's 3 children and the 5 grandchildren. In previous years, we have all met at a lake in Oklahoma, but since my hubby & I now live on a lake (actually a couple of blocks away), they are all coming here! So, I have to have a day or two to clean house but hopefully I will have time tomorrow and Monday to make a few cards ahead so I will have some cards to show you during the next week.

Happy Stamping!

Texas Tues-Step Cowgirl!

Howdy! That is my greeting to you since today is the 3rd Tuesday of the month, which means it is time for me to show you another Texas card! For this week's card, I decided to go with a western motif. What comes to mind is the fact that non -Texans used to think that everyone who lives in Texas owns and rides horses. I believe that they now know the truth, but still it is kinda funny to think that anyone ever thought that. After all, I grew up in the city and have only been on a horse a few times and those times were at national parks, not in Texas! About a month ago, we went to the local rodeo! The only rodeos I had ever been to were large ones in a big city. This was a different experience for sure! The small town rodeo reminded me that horses and Texas can go together! Hence today's card... enjoy!

I couldn't resist adding the comical sentiment for my cowgirl. Too funny! I love using twine on my cards and it was fun to go "crazy" with the twine on my card to add to the western motif. Be sure to check out all the posts from the Texas Tues-Step team. You can find their links on the right side of my blog.

Recipe:

Paper - October Afternoon-South Forty (one 12 x12 opposite sides), Cardstock White, Brown, Teal
Stamps - Cowgirl and Sentiment by Deadbeat Designs
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Die Cuts/Punches - Labels 10, Labels 4, Labels 13 Nestiblites, EK Success Daisy Scallop Border Punch
Other - Twine by The Cat's Pajamas, Star Stickers by Stampendous, Felt Daisy by Queen & Co., Button

Before I go, I wanted to tell you about this last weekend. I went to the stamp convention. The convention was extremely small with less than 20 vendors. So, needless to say, the convention itself wasn't all that exciting, but... what was awesome was to see so many people that used to be my customers when I had my stamp store. I closed a year ago but it seems I am still missed. I had such a great time visiting with everyone and it was so good to see them!

I hope to be back tomorrow with another creation.
Happy Stamping!

Season the Day!

Hello! One of the cutest cards I saw at the scrapbook convention back in June was in the Inky Antics booth where they made a shaker card out of one of their images. I bought the set and have been thinking about it ever since! This week's sketch by Jen, I decided would work perfect for my little image and so my shaker creation was born! I will show you my card first and then Jen's sketch. Enjoy!

I love how it came out! The only thing is, I wish I would have put a few less beads inside because I think it would have appeared to shake more but oh well, I decided to go with it, as it would have been too much trouble to take it apart to change it. I also had a little trouble trying to decide what to put in place of the heart on the sketch. I tried flowers, I tried hearts cut from cardstock but all seem to take away from the main image which was a problem. In the end, I just cut the aqua piece into a "v". I often see on blogs where they change up the sketch to fit their needs. And this is such a small change, I think it will be fine! I would love to hear your thoughts about my little "shakin" card!

Recipe:

Paper - American Crafts Cobbler Cove and Blossom Road, Cardstock White, Yellow, Red, Aqua Stamps - Inky Antics Prepping Chefs Clear Set
Ink- Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Die Cuts - Classic Circle Nestiblities
Other - Buttons, Foam Tape and Acetate (to create shaker)

Hope your weekend is great! Look for me on Tuesday, for Texas Tues-Step (if not before)!
Happy Stamping!

You Mean the World To Me!

Hello! Sorry I am a day late in posting. I did today's card a few days ago and I thought I had posted it but apparently not. The layout came from several combined sketches I've seen. When I first finished it, I really wasn't sure if I liked it all that much, but since, I've decided it is quite pretty. Let me show it to you and you can decide.

Recipe:

Paper - Sei Poppy (12 x12 & paper stack), Cardstock White, Aqua
Stamps - Verve Flower from Feel the Sun set & Sentiment and Circle Flourish from One Person set
Ink - Versafine Crimson Red
Die Cuts - Classic Circle 2 sizes, and Classic Circle Scalloped Nestibilities, Stampin' Up Embossing Folder called Square Lattice (my new favorite!)
Other - Decorative Brad and Pearls by Queen & Co.

I will have one more card for you tomorrow. It is a really cute one, so be sure to come back by! And then on Tuesday, it will be time for another Texas card, and I know you will not want to miss that!

Happy Stamping!

Woof!

Hello! Today's card is made for my God son who is turning 19 and is in the Marines. Because he is going to be 19, I thought it was important to use a stamp that was fun but not too young looking. I went with a dog, everyone loves dogs, young and old. And, what a cute dog he is ...

I stamped the dog 3 times and cut out the front legs and the head, popping them up. And then I cut out just the head and popped it up too! It is a little hard to see, so I have done a little cropping on the original card, and the result is below. I think in this pic you can see the layers a little more!

The next pic shows the inside. I plan on inserting a Subway gift card in the slot. (I hear he eats there a lot ...as he is stationed in California).

Recipe:

Paper - Basic Greay Max & Whiskers Paper Pad, Cardstock White, Brown
Stamps - Inky Antics Delightful Dogs #2 Clear Set
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Die Cuts - Pinking Circles Nestibilities
Other - Ribbon Unknown

Enjoy The Ride!

Did you see I ended up posting a card on Sunday? I thought I should tell you because I know you didn't expect me back until today. Be sure to scroll down to see it. It is sooo pretty!

I love today's card. I saw on The Cat's Pajamas blog a color challenge, so since I got my feet wet with the one from last week, I decided to try another! When you see the colors, you will understand why. You know my favorite colors are bright pink and lime! Couldn't resist this one! And then as I was putting my card together, a friend suggested I make it into an easel card. I thought they were hard to make ... boy was I wrong! So easy! Don't worry, I will share with you how to make one too! Let's get to the card ... enjoy!

Above shows the front of the card when it is closed. I love how I made the hilly road with the different patterned papers. I stamped the front wheel a second time and cut it out and popped it up for added interest. And, the rhinestone was perfect for the headlight!

And this one shows how it looks standing up in the easel form.

Above shows the inside when it is opened in the usual way.

This is the color challenge for my card. I think I did good with matching the colors. The lime and raspberry of course were easy, as I have lots of papers with these colors. The golden yellow was a bit more of a challenge. But I think I found a very good match with some retired Stampin' Up paper.

Now for my instructions on making the easel card:

1. Start with a standard A-2 size vertical card. 4 1/4" x 11" folded in half at 5 1/2" .
2. Score again at the 8 1/2" mark.

3. Make your front card image and adhere ONLY to bottom portion of the card. From the 8 1/2" score line to bottom of card. Use red line tape to attach.
4. To make it stand up, add message on bottom of inside of card. Your size of this will depend on the angle you want your card to stand up.

And that is all it is to it! Really very simple. I hope my directions were easy to understand. If you have questions or need help, don't hesitate to ask. I know I will be making this type of card again. The only problem I see is I wonder if you gave it to someone who is a non-stamper, would they know to make it into an easel? I guess you would have to add a note inside the card to explain how to do it! Whatcha think?

Recipe:

Paper - Lime and Raspberry by Bo Bunny Petal Pushers line, Yellow by retired Stampin'n Up, Floral by The Girls Paperie, Cardstock White, Pink
Stamps - The Cats Pajamas
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Die Cuts - Labels 8 and Blossom 2 Nestibilites
Other - Rhinestone by Hero Arts

Trust With All Your Heart!

Hello! I know you didn't expect to see me until Monday or Tuesday, but I got a chance to create a little. I remembered seeing a sketch challenge that I wanted to participate in. Then I realized the sketch was Mojo Monday which meant if I was going to participate, I would have to get the card made asap, post it on my blog, and link it to theirs by Sunday night. So, that it why you have this unexpected surprise! I love how it came out. I will show you my card and then the sketch. Enjoy!

I think my favorite part of the sketch is those two slim, vertical lines of cardstock. I can't believe I never thought of something so simple! My inspiration came from the paper that is one of BoBunny's new lines. I went to my trays of stamps from long ago and found a peacock feather to match the paper. The sentiment is from Verve, and is one of my favorite verses. I had a little bit of trouble deciding what to add to the small square on the right and finally decided on a flower and bauble. I think it works. Oh, I also used a new embossing folder on the horizontal strips of teal. I love how it makes the cardstock look just like handmade paper! What do you think, do you like how my card turned out?

Recipe:

Paper - Bo Bunny Peacock Lane line Dot and Feathers, Cardstock White, Purple and Teal
Stamps - Peacock by Impressions In Inc, And Sentiment by Verve Stamps
Ink - Versafine Black, Tombow Markers (#055, #335, #676 colored directly on stamp and spritzed with water before stamping.)
Punches/Die Cuts - Classic Oval and Big Scallop Oval Nestiblities, Stampin' Up Square Lattice Embossing Folder
Other - Flower by Prima, Pearls by Queen & Co.

See you early next week! I have more creations up my sleeve for you to enjoy!
Happy Stamping!

Some People Make the World Special!

Hello! Do you see yesterday's card that I did for the color challenge? I was worried that I had picked out colors that were not exact, but from the comments I got, it seems I did good! YEA! Today's card is "cased" from one of the blogs. You see, every day I go to the blogs which have new entries, and if I like a layout I see, I print it. They go into a big notebook. Then the days that I think I need a little jump start on an idea, I go looking in the big notebook for inspiration. This was one of those cards! But, the funny part about my card is that I still have a bunch of new stamps I haven't had a chance to stamp out yet, and what do I do? I use a really old stamp for this card, from a company that is not even in business anymore! I needed a butterfly and the new ones just didn't seem to work, but this one from did ... enjoy!

Even though the butterfly is an old stamp, the sentiment is brand new from a Verve set. It doesn't show up that clear but the sentiment reads "Some people make the world special just by being in it." Love it! One note, I knew I wanted the butterfly and the frame to be out of the pattern paper but I was afraid it would be too flimsy so before I cut them out I glued a piece of cardstock on the underside of each. I love this layout. I think I might like to try it again, maybe with some flowers in one corner?

Recipe:

Paper - My Minds Eye (these 3 12 x 12's were purchased a while back at Hobby Lobby and are the very thin one sided type papers ... I am thinking they might be older My Minds Eye), Cardstock Purple, Black
Stamps - Butterfly by The Stamping Bug, Sentiment by Verve
Ink - Versamark, JudiKins Detail Black embossing powder
Die Cuts/Punches - Labels 8 (frame), Labels 6 (inside frame)
Other - Ribbon by May Arts, Twine by TCP, Button, Rhinestones Trail (unknown), and Ranger
Black Enamel Accents (on butterfly's body)

I think that is it for me for the week! This was one week that I think all my creations were pretty darn good! Have a great weekend! See you Monday or Tuesday.

Happy Stamping!

Heard You're Under the Weather!

Hello! I see all the time on blogs where they do more than one challenge on one card and I think, wow, how do they do that? Well, for today's card, I did just that! And for the first time ever, I am participating in a color challenge! So, my card combines a color challenge and a sketch challenge and a opportunity to use a new set that I haven't stamped before. So, I will show you my card first and then I will show you the two challenges. Enjoy ...

So, why did I decide to participate in a color challenge? I was looking around at various blogs and I came across a link to a blog telling about a color challenge with lots and lots of product to give away and the product was from lots of companies that I would like to have stamps from so I thought I should participate! Being a real customer (not a store owner anymore!), I like free product alot!! If you want to participate, you can find the details at the color throwdown blog . Here are the colors for the challenge ...
I know by their color names, these colors are actually colors from the Stampin' Up palette. But, I figured I could find cardstock and pattern papers to match. I think I did pretty good. However, I learned one lesson, and that is to check the colors I pick with the colors on the computer screen, not the computer printer. Because it seems, the printer made the blue look more aqua on the printed copy and that is how my card ended up with a more of a aqua than the light blue. Because I have never participated in a color challenge before, I am not sure if this is too far off to be considered correct or is it like sketch challenges where they often say you can change it up some. I guess we will find out! Now, let me show you the sketch challenge that goes with my card. It is another challenge from Jen delMuro.

Oh, a couple more things about my card. Did you see I cut the little umbrella out of the cardstock and layered it? I even stamped it a second time onto the pink and cut out just the circles. adhering them to the umbrella. Those were some tiny circles! I don't have the inside of the card to show you, but the inside sentiment reads "Hope your recovery is speedy!" Pretty funny, since it is a turtle and they are so slow!

Recipe:

Paper - My Minds Eye Home Pad, Cardstock White, Lime, Aqua, Red Raspberry, Pink
Stamps - Clear Set from Inky Antics called Sick Turtle
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Die Cuts/Punches - Labels 3, Labels 8, and Classic Circle Nestiblities
Other - Button by O'Scrap, Pearls (pink and blue) by Queen & Co., Twine by TCP

I think I did pretty darn good combining two different types of challenges, whatcha think?

Happy Stamping!

You Know You Are OLD When ...

Wow I spent most of Tuesday working on a mini book to send to a friend who is turning "50" this week. I had a similar project I showed you back in February. (If you want to look at it in the archives, go to February and then to the title Over the Hill.) You see, I have these two friends, one I have known since 7th grade and the other since 9th grade, we have all stayed pretty close through all these years so I wanted to make them each something a little special with a little humor thrown in! I mean if we can't laugh about turning "50", we are going to be in trouble! For the one in February, I made a Tri-Shutter card so I could use a few "over the hill" sentiments. I went to the computer to see if I could find some more "over the hill" sentiments, and the first site I came across had a page long list of sayings that would conclude the sentence "You know you are getting old when ..." So, I decided to pick out the best and use them in my project! My book consists of covered chipboard, a gate fold, an accordion, and cardstock flaps with all the humorous sentiments to complete the getting old sentence. Toward the end of this post, I have included the list of humorous sentiments so you can have a laugh too! Here are pictures of my book ... enjoy! ...

Above shows the front cover. Jean and her walker image slightly overlaps the gate fold of the book. The sentiment in the big scallop is taped to the panel that Jean is on. I added a magnet under the top, right corner of Jean's panel and put a magnet on the underside of the inside panel of the book. This helps the book to stay firmly closed. I originally thought I would use chipboard letters for the "o l d" but my letters were too large, so I went with the Thickers letters I have used on several project recently. I actually kind of like that they stand out being a green color, instead of the black I thought I would originally want! The rest of the sentiment is computer generated, as are all of the inside sentiments.

This is a close - up view of Jean and her walker. It is pretty much like I colored her back in February. She just calls for bright colors!

This shows the book open with the flaps. I did add sentiments to the reverse side of the flaps which makes 12 sentiments in all!

And this is another inside view showing how it looks with the flaps laying flat.

This is my inside.

I got the instructions for this from a book called Mini Books Make it in Minutes by Roxi Phillips. It had exact measurements for each panel, making it a very easy book to make. I will be glad to type out the instructions for anyone that would like them. Just email me at
stamperfw@aol.com.

Now are you ready for your laugh? Read on...

You know you are getting old when...

Looking 50 is great - if you are 60!
You can laugh, cough, sneeze, and pee all at the same time!
You are somewhere between the Young and the Restless and the Old and the Senseless!
You finally got your head together, now your body is falling apart!
Happy hour is a NAP!
It takes twice as long to look half as good!
The clothes you've put away until they come back in style...have come back in style!
You have more patience, but actually, it's just that you don't care anymore!
Your idea of a night out is sitting on the patio!
You get propositioned by AARP!
You don't remember being absentminded!
You read more and remember less!

Paper - Bo Bunny Petal Pushers line, Cardstock White, Hot Pink, Black, Chipboard
Stamps - Art Impressions
Ink - For Jean - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Punches/Die Cuts - Labels 9, Big Scalloped Oval 2 sizes

Have a Bluebonnet Day!

Hello! Welcome to another Texas Tues-Step! As you know, I am part of a team who brings to you Texas themed cards every 1st and 3rd Tuesdays. For your convenience, I have added on the right side of my blog a list with links for the Texas team. Just click on their names and it will take you straight to their blogs. Hopefully, they will all participate this week!

I have one more list I have added for your convenience to tell you about. If you will scroll down on the right, you will see, I have added a blog archive so you can easily locate my previous entries first by month and next by title. Many times I make a card similar to one I have made before and I refer to a previous post. This should help you find the one I am referring to. I will be doing that today!

Now for today's Texas card. Let me show you the card and then I will give you the details.

I used a technique that I first did in a May post titled Two Cards and a New Technique. If you want to go to the blog where I found the actual tutorial, click on Black Magic with a White Twist. The main difference for today's card is it is not black! I went with a dark blue instead, but it worked just the same! Basically, you stamp with white, then color with a very light color, in this case, I used a very light shade of blue, and then went back over highlighting with a brighter shade of blue. I took it one step further and went over it with an even darker shade of blue. And then the same process for the leaves. The twist that the creator came up with is to add the white pen accents to make it pop! I then added coordinating papers, and embellishments, making it a card I absolutely love!

Recipe:

Paper - Olive with Diamonds by My Minds Eye Just Dreamy 2 line, Blue Check by BoBunny Back to Basics line, Cardstock White, Navy, Olive
Stamps - Both stamps by Deadbeat Designs
Ink - Staz-on White, Prismacolor Pencils, Marvy Matchable Prussian Blue (sentiment)
Die Cuts/Punches - Classic Scalloped Circle 2 sizes & Classic Circle 3 sizes Nestiblities, Stampin' Up Border Punch, Sizzix Diamonds Embossing Folder
Other - Stampendous Blue Dot Sparklers, Pearls by Queen & Co.

Way To Go!

Thanks for coming back today to see the card I promised you. Today's card is for one of my best friends and her husband who are celebrating 20 years of marriage tomorrow! A big congratulations to Donna & Jim! I am pretty sure she has received her card in the mail so I can show it here! At least I hope so! I decided to go with the Inky Antics monkeys who are arm in arm and look to be dancing a little jig! After I got started, I could see how it would be perfect if each little monkey held one of the numbers of the "20"! Too cute! Enjoy ...

I do have to tell you about the inside, even though I don't have a picture to show you. I looked through all my stamps, and believe me I have a lot, and I could not find any stamps that said Happy Anniversary! What is up with that? I talked to a friend and she suggested I use the same "Go Bananas" stamp I used on the other monkey card I made this week and put it in a heart shaped nestibilities. So, that is what I did!

Recipe:

Paper - Flower Shower Spring Matstack from Die Cuts with a View, Cardstock White, Light Blue
Stamps - Monkeys Celebrating Clear Set by Inky Antics, Tiny Way To Go by Wordsworth
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Punches/Die Cuts - Classic Oval & Classic Oval Scalloped Nestibilites, Cuttlebug Big Polka Dot
Other - "2", "0" by American Crafts Thickers, Tiny Clear Rhinestones by Hero Arts (in girl monkey belly button, and in center of her flower on her head), Flower Rhinestones by Hero Arts, Ribbon by May Arts

That is it for this week! I will be back on Tuesday for Texas Tues-Step! See you then!

Happy Stamping!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello! With the 4th of July weekend upon us, I wanted to get a card made for the holiday to show you. I really didn't have a particular stamp in mind to use. But I thought about The Cat's Pajamas bear that I have used before. I think I made a card using him for a Spring card, a St. Patrick's Day card, and a Valentine's Day card so I figured it was time to stamp him again for this holiday. And remember the package of little flags that I hunted in stores to find for the Memorial Day card? The package had 60 flags in it, so I figured I had better use another flag! Here it is... enjoy!

Recipe:

Paper - Paper with 4th of July words by Doodlebug Designs, Red with White Glitter Dots by Best Creation Inc., Cardstock White, Blue
Stamps - Bear from The Cat's Pajamas, Sentiment from Studio G $1 Clear Stamps, Fireworks by Hero Arts
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Fireworks - Marvy Matchables Red, Blue, & Prussian Blue
Die Cuts/Punches - Classic Circle and Classic Scalloped Circle, Petite Classic Oval Nestiblites, Stars from Die from Ellison (Sizzix bought this company out)
Other - Paper Flag, Sakura Quicky Glue Pen and Art Institute Crystal Glitter (on fireworks), Pearls by Queen & Co.

Don't forget I have one more card to show you this week, so come back tomorrow for it!

I hope you have a safe and fabulous 4th of July!

Go Bananas!

Hello! As soon as our family left, I was off to my room to finish two cards that need to go in the mail to be received by the weekend. I will be showing you one of the cards today and the other I will post in a couple of days to give the recipient time to receive it. I want her to have it in the mail before she sees it on my blog! The card for today I made for my niece, who on July 5th will be turning 23! I can't believe she is all grown up! So, I bet you can guess I used a monkey stamp for her card ... if I remember right... she loves monkeys! And when you are adult, you get cute animal cards! With all the animal cards I make, I must think we all going through our second childhood! I used a stamp set from Inky Antics I got back in January. Friends had stamped off the images, but I had never stamped them. Which is crazy, because at the scrapbook convention last month, I got another monkey set from the same company. The set I used today, I also used on the other card I will be showing you in a few days. Here it is ... Enjoy!

Cute, huh? The birthday paper with all the bright colors totally makes this card! The inside sentiment says "It's Your Birthday Go Bananas"!

Recipe:

Paper - Creative Imaginations, Cardstock White, Hot Pink, Lime Green, Blue
Stamps - Monkeys Celebrating Clear Set by Inky Antics
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Punches/Die Cuts - Classic Oval and Classic Oval Scalloped Nestibilites, Stampin' Up Scalloped Border Punch
