So, why did I decide to participate in a color challenge? I was looking around at various blogs and I came across a link to a blog telling about a color challenge with lots and lots of product to give away and the product was from lots of companies that I would like to have stamps from so I thought I should participate! Being a real customer (not a store owner anymore!), I like free product alot!! If you want to participate, you can find the details at the color throwdown blog . Here are the colors for the challenge ...
I know by their color names, these colors are actually colors from the Stampin' Up palette. But, I figured I could find cardstock and pattern papers to match. I think I did pretty good. However, I learned one lesson, and that is to check the colors I pick with the colors on the computer screen, not the computer printer. Because it seems, the printer made the blue look more aqua on the printed copy and that is how my card ended up with a more of a aqua than the light blue. Because I have never participated in a color challenge before, I am not sure if this is too far off to be considered correct or is it like sketch challenges where they often say you can change it up some. I guess we will find out! Now, let me show you the sketch challenge that goes with my card. It is another challenge from Jen delMuro.
Oh, a couple more things about my card. Did you see I cut the little umbrella out of the cardstock and layered it? I even stamped it a second time onto the pink and cut out just the circles. adhering them to the umbrella. Those were some tiny circles! I don't have the inside of the card to show you, but the inside sentiment reads "Hope your recovery is speedy!" Pretty funny, since it is a turtle and they are so slow!

ReplyDeleteYour card colors are JUST FINE! We use SU! colors because they are, for the most part, the most easily recognized colors but we always stress in our challenges to use whatever you have that's similar. That's exacly what you did, and did it very well! This is an adorable image! We're glad you joined us for the first time to help us celebrate!
