April Class Share!

Hello!  I am always seeing cool stamp inking techniques on people's blogs and I thought it would be fun to do something different for one of my classes and do some of those techniques. But, a lot of the techniques I saw were basically on a white card, and that, as you know, is just not my style of card making, so I found that trying to match ink colors with designer papers and also coming up with fun fold cards, was frustrating, to say the least.  In fact, Wednesday morning, I thought about not doing my April class, but I jumped right back into it and finished them!  And I am so glad I did.  I love how they came out!  And it will be fun to share some old and new inking techniques.  Here are my cards ... enjoy!

First, is an old technique called Black Magic, which is colored pencils colored over white ink.  The card is a Corner Fold Card...

And here is the inside ...

Next, is a stamp inking technique called Distress Ink Lifting and the card is a Double Front Fold Card ...

Here is a photo of what is behind the front panel ...

And the inside ...

And last but not least, the third card, also a technique with Distress Ink, called Reactive Distress Ink Technique.  The card is a buckle card.  This is one that I did a few years ago, happy to be reminded of this fun fold again ...

This technique is "out of my box" as it is one that is not as neat because the distress inks react with water and cause the inks to spread out beyond the stamped lines.  It is pretty cool, though!  And below is the inside.

I used the same Darcie sentiment with all three cards, because it was perfect for them.  But, I am planning on bringing several sentiment stamps with me for class, so that they can add a sentiment that will work for the kind of card they need.  (Like Mother's Day, birthday, thank you, just because, etc.).

So, here are the details, if you are interested in coming to class or would like a kit. Call The Crafty Scrapper at 972-923-3151.

Say It With Flowers!  Wed. April 27th 11:00 a.m. and Friday April 29th 7:00 p.m.  $28
In this class, you will be doing three different stamp inking techniques.  One with white ink and colored pencils and two others with Distress Inks.  Of course, these techniques are combined with fun and unique card folds and three floral stamp sets from My Favorite Things.  Cards include a Corner Fold Card, a Double Front Fold Card, and a Buckle Card.  Please bring adhesive to include pop-ups, scissors, bone folder.  A few optional items to include a watercolor paintbrush, colored pencils in pinks, yellows, and greens, Distress Inks: Dried Marigold, Festive Berries, Crushed Olive, Pine Needle, Evergreen Bough, Fired Brick, Spun Sugar, and Shabby Shutters.  These items are not required as I will provide in class, but noted for your information.  Also, if this is a kit only, and you do not have these items, let them know, when you sign up and I will complete for you.

I prefer to teach on Wed. and Saturday's, but that Saturday, April 30th is when my church is doing their annual tea, so I had to change it to a Friday night.  Oh well, I hope some can still come!  I also hope that I will still get sign ups since I am soooo late in getting my cards done!  Maybe you can come?

I will be back sometime on Saturday to share the Saturday share with you!
Happy Stamping!
Tina
