Thanksgiving Pilgrims Look 3!

So yesterday, I showed you my card using just the boy pilgrim.  Of course, my girl pilgrim was colored and ready to use.  So, I went with a similar card, but still a different layout and used just the girl.  I love how this one came out!  Enjoy!

One interesting addition on this card is how I added the orange and white ribbon going across the card at the top.  I just felt it needed something with white but still very bright to match her bonnet.  Do you like how this one came out?

Recipe:

Paper - Paper with words by Imaginesce called Grateful, Stripes by Bo Bunny line called Olvia, Cardstock White, Orange, Dark Brown
Stamps - Hero Arts
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Versafine Vintage Sepia
Tools - Petite Scalloped Circle & Classic Circle Nestibilities, Polka Dot embossing folder
Other - Ribbon by Creative Impressions, Copper Pearls by Kaiser

I will have one more Pilgrim card for you tomorrow.  See you then!

Thanksgiving Pilgrims Look 2!

Hello!  Today, I am back with another layout using the pilgrims from Hero Arts.  Today, I am using just the boy pilgrim.  Last week, during the push to get my cards done, I came across this sheet of paper I got back early October when I was at Archiver's.  Too wonderful not to use, I decided I needed my stamped element to be kinda small so I could showcase more of the paper.  So, using just one of the pilgrims was a perfect idea!  Here it is ... enjoy!

How cute is this card?  I am happy I also got to use this wonderful stamped sentiment again!

Recipe -

Paper - DP  by Imaginesce (appropriately) called Grateful, Cardstock White, Gold, Brown, Natural White
Stamps - Pilgrim by Hero Arts, Sentiment by Verve
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Versafine Vintage Brown, Black Gelly Roll Glaze Pen for buttons on his coat
Tools - Petite Scalloped Circle & Classic Circle Nestibilities, Polka Dot embossing folder
Other - Button, Linen Thread by The Cat's Pajamas, Rhinestones by Hero Arts

See you tomorrow!  Happy Stamping!

Thanksgiving Pilgrims Look 1!

Hello!  One of the stamp sets I purchased new for Thanksgiving, was the Hero Arts set with the pilgrims.  I first showed you a card where I used them on my October 7th post.  A couple of weekends ago, when I was set up at the flea market, I stamped out several more of these pilgrims and colored them.  i wanted to have more than one card to show you, so, I  made cards with different layouts.  Of course, this totally changes the look!  Today I have for you the first of four looks!  Enjoy!

Putting both girl and boy pilgrims on a card together, is a bit of a challenge, but they are so cute together!  I added another one of those wavy sentiments from Hero Arts.  This time it says " a time of gratitude".  I like this layout, simple but nice!  What do you think?

Recipe:

Paper - Dots is on the backside of October Afternoon Fly a Kite, Stripe is from Bo Bunny Olivia line, Cardstock White, Orange
Stamps - Hero Arts
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Black Gelly Roll Glaze Pen for buttons on pilgrim boys coat
Tools -Labels 3 Nesibilities
Other - Button unkown, Linen Thread by The Cat's Pajamas, Pearls by Queen & Co.

See you tomorrow!

Give Thanks!

It seems if I want you to view the cards I have made, I have to actually write the post!  Duh!  On Thursday, I said come back on Friday and I will have another card to show you.  Yes, I have the card, but I didn't write the post!  Better late than never ... enjoy!

Yes, I am stamping the same pumpkin stamp as yesterday, but today's card is a totally different layout!  I have had these circular rhinestones for sometime now and they were just calling my name to use them.  I originally thought about adding punched out leaves in the centers but after adhering them, I decided I liked them plain.  I have been complaining about not having the right size sentiments for my Thanksgiving cards.  This is the last card to be made and I find this stamp to use.  It is actually a much larger stamp that says "Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart", but by using the top two words and the tag punch, it makes it a good size for cards.  (Note - next week's cards were actually made before I finished this one.)

Recipe:
Paper - October Afternoon Nutmeg Collection, Cardstock White, Orange, Brown
Stamps - Pumpkins by Northwoods, Sentiment by My Sentiments Exactly
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools -Classic Scalloped & Classic Circle Nestbilities, McGill Tag Punch, EK Success Corner Punch
Other - Button by Basic Grey, Circle Rhinestones by My & My Big Ideas, Grossgrain Ribbon, Single Rhinestone by Stamping Bella

Next week, Monday through Thursday, I will have a card a day to show you using the same stamp set.  But a different layout, giving a totally different look!  So, check back in on Monday!  I am going to write the posts right now and schedule them for each day, so they will be there for you!!

Happy Stamping!

Have A Bountiful Season!

Hello!  I have been busy creating Thanksgiving cards.  Here is my card for the day!  Enjoy!

I think this pumpkin stamp from Northwoods is probably my favorite fall stamp.  I know I made a bunch of cards with this stamp last Thanksgiving, but I couldn't resist using it again this year.  Do you like how I used a solid ribbon and then layered it with a sheer ribbon?  Different, but I like it!  That little sentiment is from a stamp that has the sentiment printed twice in a kind of wave and that is why it looks like it is not printed straight.  For some reason, it seems that all my fall sentiment stamps are too big.  I could really use some fall stamps with smaller printing.  I made do with what I have this year, but I need to put it on a list for next year.

Recipe:

Paper - $1 pack from Target, Cardstock White, Green, Orange, Wine
Stamps - Pumpkins by Northwoods, Sentiment by Hero Arts
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Classic Scalloped Circle & Classic Circle Nestibilities, Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder
Other - Button, Linen Thread by The Cat's Pajamas, Grossgrain Ribbon by Unknown, Dotted Sheer Ribbon by May Arts, Button, Pearls by Queen & Co.

I have cards made so come back tomorrow and I will share another creation with you!
Happy Stamping!

Fall Colors!

Hello!  I started thinking about all the fall papers that I purchased this year that I had not made cards with yet, and decided I had better get to it.  Today, feeling creative, I made several cards. And hope to get back to my room tomorrow to make a few more.  So, the good news about that is I will have a card a day to show you for the next several days!  On today's card, I used a couple of those unused papers.  Here is my card ...enjoy!

I realize my tree is a little unrealistic with all the different color leaves on the one tree!  But, it is pretty, right?  I went a little crazy with the rhinestones!  It is just that I thought the scallop needed some bling ... at least, I didn't put one on every scallop!   All in all, I like how my card came out!

Recipe:

Paper - Trees by Paper Loft Autumn Splendor line, Stripes and backside Leaves by Creative Imaginations, Cardstock White, Brown
Stamps - Tree and Sentiment by $1 Stamp from Jo Ann's (K & Co.)
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Prismacolor Pencils
Tools - Petite Scalloped Circle, Classic Circle, Classic Oval Nestibilities
Other - Citron Rhinestones by Hero Arts, Ribbon

I have some good news to share!  When DeNami does their blog hops, they draw names randomly giving  away three $20 gift certificates. Two are given to people who leave comments and one is given to one of the blog hop participants.  They drew my name for the participant gift certificate!  How cool is that?  Yipee!  I haven't decided what to order yet, but I will let you know!

Also, last week, I told you that Our Craft Lounge is do a promo where you can leave comments everyday on the set they are showing for the day and you have a chance to win the set.  One of my comments was randomly drawn and I won the set called Star's Slumber Party.  I am not sure if I saw the set in a store I would buy it, but I commented on the cards they made, because they were so cute!  You can try winning too.  Just click on the blinkie on the right side of my blog to see the daily entry and leave a comment.

Wow, two wins in the same week!  That's crazy, but I love it!

I'll be back tomorrow with another Thanksgiving creation!

A Cowgirl Howdy!

First, I want to say how much I enjoyed being part of the DeNami Blog Hop on Sunday.  It was also alot of fun to go hop around at all the blogs to see all the wonderful creations!  Today, is the 3rd Tuesday of the month, so that means it is a Texas Tues-Step day.  I went back through my blog posts to see how long I have been participating and making Texas themed cards.  I found out my first Texas card was created on May 18th.  That means for twice a month for the past six months I have been doing Texas cards!  Wow! How fun!  Well, for the first time, I did not use any Deadbeat Designs stamps on my card.  There is no rule that I have to use Deadbeat Designs.  I just usually do because he is on the Texas Tues-Step team and also most of my Texas designs happen to be his designs.  But, this time I went with an idea I saw on one of the blogs.  They added some twine to look like rope to My Favorite Things cowgirl stamp.  Here is my card ... enjoy!

I really like how my card came out.  What do you think?  I have to say I just loved getting all the comments with Sunday's blog hop. Comments totally make the bloggers day, so make sure you take the opportunity to go to the other Texas Tues-Step team's blogs and see what Texas creations they have for you today.  And leave comments!  You can find the list on the right side of my blog!

Recipe:

Paper - All Stampin' Up Retired DP, Cardstock White, Brown
Stamps - My Favorite Things
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Classic Circle Nestibilites, McGill Tag Punch, Texas by Punch Bunch
Other - Button, Linen Thread by The Cat's Pajamas, Pink Rhinestones by Hero Arts
The goal for the week is to make the last of the Thanksgiving cards I have in my head and to finish the inside of any that I have made for the blog but left the inside blank (what was I thinking?).  So, you will see me again this week, but maybe not tomorrow.  We'll see how it goes!

Happy Stamping!

DeNami Christmas Blog Hop

DeNami November Blog Hop

Hello!  I had so much fun participating in DeNami's last blog hop, I am doing it again!  Welcome to all the "hoppers"!  If you came from Beverly Montez's blog, you are on the right track!  If you want to start from the beginning or if you get lost along the way, click on the Blog Hop badge above and it will take you back to home base.  Now, let me get to my cards!  Yes, I have two!  Here is the first one ... enjoy!
Every year, for one of my Christmas cards, I like to do a card with a winter scene and this stamp with Mimi snow skiing is perfect!  When I stamped her in brown, the snowflakes and the snow on the ground came out in brown also.  So, I went over these with a white gel pen and then added glitter with a quicky glue pen on top of that.  Remember, holiday cards don't always have to be in traditional colors, especially if they are winter scenes!

Recipe:
Paper - Stripe Unknown, Turquoise is a Sparkle Paper by TPC Studio, Cardstock White, Pink, Mint Green
Stamps - DeNami
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Classic Scalloped Circle, Classic Circle, & Create a Flake 1 Nestibiities, EK Success Corner Punch, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch
Other - Ranger White Gel Pen, Quicky Glue Pen, Art Institute Crystal Glitter, Glitter Baubles from Hobby Lobby

Now, my next card will show you how one stamp has many possibilities.  For this holiday card, I used Mimi with Birthday Cake.  Yes, you read correctly!  It is this stamp ...

And this is the result ... here is my holiday card ...

Don't you love how it came out?  I know I was supposed to be using Christmas stamps, but I had this idea, and couldn't resist showing it to you!    You should have seen me jumping for joy when I found this perfect scrapbook paper with all sizes of presents on it, including a small one of a perfect size for Mimi to hold!  My other favorite detail on the card, is how I made the ribbon appear to be on top of a present.  I think I will be making more of these to send!

Recipe:Paper - Paper with presents by Little Yellow Bicycle called All Wrapped Up, Merry Christmas background paper by The Paper Studio, Cardstock White, Blue
Stamps - DeNami
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Martha Stewart Border Punch, McGill tag punch
Other - Ribbon Unknown, Red Pearls by Queen & Co.

Don't forget there are gift certificates that YOU can win!  All you have to do is leave comments on the blogs along the way and your name might be randomly drawn!  How easy and fun is that?  You have until Monday night at 11:59 PST to leave comments on each of the blogs.

Now let's get you on your way.  You next stop is Tammy Hobbs.  Thanks for visiting.  I hope you like what you saw and will come back to visit soon!

This coming Tuesday look for another Texas creation.  See you then!

Live in Thanksgiving Daily!

Hello!  Do you love this sentiment?  This is a new stamp I got when my friend and I went to Salado.  I love cards that have black and white and then a color and white together on the same card.  It is so striking to me.  When I first started picking out papers that I thought would be good to make my Thanksgiving cards, I came across this sheet by Teresa Collins with one whole side being sentiments in black and white about be thankful and on the opposite side there is a beautiful pattern with the colors of orange and white. I decided my new stamp would be a perfect sentiment.  The challenge came when I was deciding how I could make the card interesting but still leave as much of the thankful sentiment paper showing.  I think I did good ... here is my card ... enjoy!

Really this paper with all the quotes and sentiments would make a great background for a scrapbook page instead of using such a small portion for a card.  But I still love it.  I tried to position my elements so you could see some words like "thankful" and "gratitude".  I picked just a few of the quotes on this one sheet to share with you ...
Appreciate the little things.
Thankfulness live. learn. hope. repeat.
Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you will look back and realize these are the BIG things.
Purpose and meaning; friends and family; caring and community; love and work; appreciation and gratitude.
It is not what we have have in our life, it is who we have in our life that counts.
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.
Whatever our individual troubles and challenges may be, it's important to pause every now and then and appreciate all that we have, on every level.
These quotes go perfectly with my stamped sentiment!

Recipe:

Paper - Teresa Collins - called Giving Thanks, Cardstock White, Orange
Stamps - Impression Obsession
Ink - Versafine Black
Tools - Labels 6, Classic Oval Nestibilities, EK Success Corner Punch
Other - Orange Gemstones by Hero Arts, Button, Ribbon by May Arts

Give Thanks for Simple Blessings!

Hello!  I have one last card to show you using the same set of stamps from Just Rite that I have shown you all week.  Let me get right to it ... enjoy!

The sentiment panel was so simple, I was able to go with a layout that had more going on.  I like how it came out!  The only thing I wish is that I would have stamped this one in a brown instead of the black.  But since I stamped a friend's stamp and don't actually have the stamp, I had to go with what I had.

Recipe:
Paper - Leaf Paper by Bella Blvd. One Fine Day line called Just Leafy, Orange Pattern in Target $1 Pack, Cardstock White, Green, Orange
Stamps - Just Rite
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Corners by Ek Success, Classic Scalloped Circle & Classic Circle Nestibilities, Leaf punch by Tonic
Other - Ribbon from Target $1 Pack, Orange Dot Sparklers by Stampendous

Pumpkin Patch Greetings!

Hello!  Another day, another oval fall stamp from one Just Rite set.  The sketch I used for today's card, was actually shown in a vertical format, but I decided it could be easily changed to be horizontal so that is what I did!  You can see it here in it's original format.  Let me get to my card ... enjoy!

I like it, don't you?  It is so hard to color stamped images when you don't know what papers you will be using.  That is true except for the fall season.  Take this image for example, pumpkins will be orange no matter what paper you use.  The coloring leads me to papers that match.  And to find the right colors, I have to look at both sides of all the papers.  I like the ones I picked for this one.

Recipe::

Paper - Background paper from Stampin' Up Retired, Orange Stripe from Creative Imaginations, Green Stripe and Curls which is backside of My Minds Eye Be Loved line (this is a paper for Valentines' Day, but it matches perfectly), Cardstock White
Stamp - Just Rite
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Classic Oval Nestiblities
Other - Pearls by Queen & Co.

I have one more Just Rite oval to show you. so I will see you tomorrow!
Happy Stamping!

Days of Autumn!

Hello!  Today I have another card using the Autumn stamp set from Just Rite.  Like the stamp I used on yesterday's card, it is an oval.  So, I went to look for a sketch that I would like to use.  There are so many sketches out there to pick from.  But, I don't think I have ever noticed, that most sketches that has an oval in the sketch, the oval is almost always vertical on the card.  But, with these stamps that I stamped off from a friend and colored the images to make into cards, all need the oval to be horizontal.  So, yesterday's post had one idea, today is another, and tomorrow I will have one more idea.  So obviously there are some, but not that many!  Today's sketch is one I have done before and I like it.  Here is my card ... enjoy!

So, I just got a pack of cardstock from Stampin' Up, some that was clearanced.  Anyway, I can't believe how close the brown in the pack matches this scrapbook paper.  I have a happy mistake to tell you about on this one.  When I was die-cutting the oval, I didn't really line it up all that well.  So, the result was there was a lot of white showing on the outside of the oval on the right side.  Now, you can't tell this, because I covered my little boo boo up with the button and leaf.   I love this added element and it really makes the card, but the point is, I probably would not have added this if I wasn't trying to cover up the boo boo.  I also used linen thread to gather the ribbon on the right side.  It makes the button appear to be tied to the ribbon.  I love this card.  How about you?

Recipe:

Paper - Leaf paper from Target $1 pack, Orange print from Bo Bunny (backside of Olivia Mums), Cardstock Brown, Dark Red, White
Stamps - Just Rite
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Classic Scalloped Oval & Classic Oval Nestibilities
Other - Ribbon from Target $1 ribbon set, Button, Leaf from Prima, Linen Thread from The Cat's Pajamas

Tune in tomorrow for my next card.  Happy Stamping!

Fall Apple Basket - 2 Looks!

Hello!  Did you miss me?  I definitely have missed you.  I spent last week getting together all the boxes of inventory from my store, taking them to the local flea market and then spent the whole weekend there wishing more than two ladies came to shop my sale!  Oh, I guess I sold to a couple more people, but the only true stamper/scrapbookers that came were the two ladies.  And I do want to say I am grateful for them!  I will be there this next weekend too, so we'll see if it gets any better.  I do have to say though, it was not a total loss, because I got a lot of images colored to make into some fall cards for you to see!  It is usually difficult to color images ahead of time, unless you know what paper you are planning to use, but this time of the year with fall images, it is a lot easier to do.  On Friday night, I got together with some stamping friends, and I stamped off the Just Rite Apple Basket.  This is one of the images that I colored this weekend and then tonight I spent time in my room making them into cards.  For some reason, one of the images came out more orange so that is how I ended up using two different sets of papers. It is good because it gives you more ideas.  Let's get to them ... enjoy!

On the first card, I stamped the apple basket without the saying to give a different look.  And on the second card, I actually was able to pick the right oval nestibilities and die cut out just the apples and then pop them up above the oval with the sentiment.  In person, it gives the card a little added interest.  I love both cards.  Don't you?

Our Texas!

Hello!  Welcome to another Texas Tues - Step card.  For today's Texas creation, I used one of my favorite sketches and layered a couple of stamps to create my rectangle shape.  I knew I wanted to add either a punched out or stamped Texas shape as an accent piece, but I went around and around with trying to find just the right look.  I ended up with a stamped Texas shape with a stamped Texas word on the inside.  I like the way it came out.  Let me show you ... enjoy!

Recipe:

Paper - Plaid is from October Afternoon, Teal Print and Ochre Stripe from Stampin' Up Retired, Cardstock Teal, Natural White
Stamps - All Deadbeat Designs
Ink - Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink, Tombow Markers
Tools - Labels 8 Nestibilities
Other - Pearls by Queen & Co.

Just Treats Blog Candy WINNER!

Hello!  First, I want to tell you that there were 10 entries, 7 of those left me a comment this week and 3 of them, got a second chance by becoming followers.  So, to make things fair, I wrote out all entries separately on strips of paper, put them in a bowl, and got my hubby, Gary to draw one winner!  Here is my pic of Gary in his brand new World Series t-shirt  ...

Without furthur ado ...................................

                               AND THE WINNER IS ..................................

wayred48
Please email me at stamperfw@aol.com with your address, and I will be sending your Just Treats package on it's way!

I have one more pic to show you. Here is a close-up of Gary's Texas Rangers shirt. He ordered it online the day they won the American League play-offs and knew they would be going to the World Series, but of course, they didn't make enough and so he had to wait! Got it in the mail today, so I made him put it on for his pics!

Yes, I know the Rangers are behind 3 games to 2 which means it might be unlikely that we will win the World Series. But, in this household we are very proud of our team, win or lose! And we are glad that, for the first time ever, we can say we are a team that has been to the World Series! GO RANGERS!

Now, you know how easy it is to leave me comments.  So, keep them coming!  I love to get them.  They really make my day!

Texas Tues- Step is tomorrow, so I will see you then!
Happy Stamping!
