Two Sets of Note Cards!

Hello! Today I actually have 8 cards to show you. They are one design, but different papers and different sentiments. The little shop where I am selling some of my cards told me that customers had asked about note cards. I originally thought I would do a set of 8, but my friend suggested, two sets of four would be better. I agree! That way I can ask $10 for each set. I used coordinating papers from two 6 x 6 pads. I know I need to make more than just two sets, but this will as least get me started. A while back, I ordered some Just Rite stamps for this very purpose, so glad I finally inked them up! Let me show you ... enjoy!

See?  Same but different!  I originally thought I would do the insides like I always do by adding a layer of color, and then a white panel for writing.  But ... I decided since they are to be "note cards" and to distinguish them from my other cards, I have decided to leave the insides totally blank.  Plus, I need to keep the cost down, as I won't be getting the $3, $4 or $5 for each card, as I do for my others I sell that aren't in a set.  Now, let me show you the presentation.  I found in my ex-store stuff some clear boxes that will fit these perfectly.  I made a copy of each set above to add to the back of box so they can see what they are getting.  Here are the pics of the finished boxes ...

Daisy Thanks!

Hello!  I have had cards ready to show you for two days.  All I had to do was write the posts.  Doesn't sound hard ... but it must be since it is now evening on the second day and I am just now getting around to it.  I spent this morning doing something creative but not homemade!  You see, I had gotten an offer from Norwegian Cruise Line, who we went with on our cruise in March, to create a photo book from Shutterfly.  I want to do a "real" scrapbook of our trip but I know I still haven't done the last two on my list, one from the Alaska cruise or our Texas RV trip both from almost 3 years ago.  So, since they offered me this free book, I figured I should take advantage and I can still do a "real" scrapbook later.  So, I uploaded pics, chose layouts, picked colors, added elements and text, and made what I think, is a very nice creative digital book.  I will post pics after I get the finished book in the mail.  Now, let's get to today's card, which is "real"!  I made this last week, but had to wait until my friend received it.  It is another copic colored card.  Enjoy!
 

I am so proud of how this came out.  And, I think I was very creative when it came to my copic coloring.  You see, I picked these papers because it looked like the colors on my copic chart would match the colors in the papers.  But, I soon found out that my copic colors were much brighter than the muted paper colors ... so what did I do?  Well, I tone down the colors by going over them with an E color, specifically E31.  I was worried that was a no-no, until I compared notes with friends and I got the thumbs up!  Yipee!  I love all the elements on the card too, especially the little pearls (Y02 on top of white pearls) on the teacup and the daisy die and the twine.  What do you think?  Pretty?  Did I do good?

June Class Share!

Hello!  My class samples are finally done!  Yipee!  Seems like it took me forever to get the cards to work and for me to get them where I am satisfied with them.  Creativity mojo .... sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not!  I have sent the pic of all three cards together to the store so they will get them in their newsletter and on their website, but I always like to post them here on my blog too.  My theme for this class is "Hello Summer"!  My first card is a 4th of July card and it is a Cascading card.  I have seen these on pinterest and was curious if they would be too difficult to recreate ... I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is!  I love cards that make you say "wow" and this is definitly one of those!  It sits up but folds flat to send.  Adding pretty papers and die cut stars with glitter made for one great patriotic card.  Here is my card... enjoy!
 

My next class card is a shaped card of a flip flop!  When I still had my store, a customer made me a card with flip flops on it and I thought what a cute idea.  I love shaped cards and I am so excited to finally do a flip flop one!   Here is my card ... outside and inside!  Enjoy!

And, my third class card is all about ice cream. Remember, a few weeks back, for one of the Saturday sketch shares, I made an ice cream cone as my main image. Well, I did that again, but this time, it has a pull out with a hidden message. How fun is that! Here is the card ... and the pull out!  Enjoy!

 

The rhinestones on the card don't show up very well, but in person on the right hand side, there is one pink, one blue, and one green.  I like it!

Come make three unique and creative cards just in time for summer, using dies and pretty papers. You will be making a 4th of July Cascading card, a shaped flip flop card, and an ice cream cone card that has a pull out message. Please bring adhesive, small pop-up dots, & detailed scissors. All other supplies provided.

That's it for me today.  I am off to my room to try to put away all the stuff I got out while in the process of making these cards.  Believe me, it is BAD!  I do have a card to show you that I gave to a friend last weekend, so I will try to get a post done for that one in the morning!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

At first glance, it seemed pretty busy, with a lot of different layers and panels, but after seeing the finished cards by all three of us, I have to say I really like it. Be Still!

Hello!  Today I don't have a card to show you but I do have a corner bookmark that I made a bunch of to give out to some of the church ladies.  You see, this little church I joined down here last year, is having their first United Methodist Women's meeting this Saturday, and they asked me to the devotion.  I love the scripture, "Be still and know that I am God".  And I knew I had a stamp of it in a pretty font from Verve, I decided it would be perfect to make something to give out along with my devotion about the scripture.  I had never made one of these bookmarks, but I had remembered seeing them, and thinking they were kinda cool.  I found the instructions here on Splitcoast.  So easy to make.  Here it is.  Enjoy!

What do you think?  I wanted to make them all alike (only made 15), so I found this cardstock color that I had several sheets of and went to find paper to go with it.  (Opposite of how I usually do.)  I ended up with this floral paper from Daisy D's (they are out of business) that I got at least 2 years ago (figured I wouldn't miss it!).  A lot of the bookmarks I saw had a tied bow with the ribbon.  I opted to just do the ribbon, so that it would not be so bulky.  I added a little bulk when I added the pearls.  But, you know I can't resist that part!!  I didn't have the perfect color pearls, which is crazy since just last week, I spent $40 in the Queen & Co booth buying all kinds of colors of pearls and rhinestones.  These were white, and I hit them with a copic marker to change the color.  Could have saved the $40?? Maybe, but you know I will use them all and in a few months I will be wishing I bought more!  The bookmark is so simple to make.  It is a 4 x 4 inch square, with two folds to create the V at the top, and then a punch along the bottom and decorate.  You also cut a 2 3/4 inch square and cut in half for the top (this piece is behind my Spellbinders Picot Circle) and the other half for the backside covering up your tape that holds it together.  This is the backside...

It was suggested to put more pattern paper on the backside to cover up the ribbon that is wrapped around.  But, I eliminated this step by attaching the ribbon under the floral piece instead.  What do you think?  Will the ladies like them?  I think so!

Just For You!

Hello!  Happy Thursday!  I have been busy in my room playing with some new goodies that I got last week at the scrapbook convention!  I also worked on a little project for my church women's group that I will show you tomorrow.  I was to supposed to be working on my class samples, but haven't gotten much done there.  I can't decide what I want to make.  But, I have to narrow it down, today, and get them done, so I can get some sign ups!  Let's talk about today's card.  I decided to get in on the Copic band wagon ... finally!  But, money wise it will take some time to get my collection where I will be able to create as I have always done.  You see, the way it works with me is I pick the stamp, then I pick the paper, then I color the stamp to match my paper.  Well, when you have less colors to work with, like I am right now with the copics, my little senario dosen't work.  For my card today, I picked the stamp, I picked the colors (the ones I had blending groups of) and then I pick the papers.  Which was way harder to do!  But, in the end, I like how it came out.  Let me show my card.  Enjoy!

In real life, the flowers are way brighter than they look here.  I love bright colors, but as I found out, papers with bright colors are not as easy to find as you would think.  The papers I picked didn't match exactly but complimented the colors of the flowers, I thought.  And I think my blending is pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!  Do you like?
