June Class Share!

Hello!  I am a little late in posting today and it is all because of a big thunderstorm that rolled through this morning and took our electricity with it!  So, when the lights came back on, I took my photos, and here I am.  I want to share my June class cards with you today.  Even though, I have already taught the card in a box, I decided to do another one, a variation of sorts.  It is a rectangle shape and folds flat, small enough to fit in an A2 size envelope.  On pinterest, I have seen some cool 3D stars and pinwheels, so I went looking for how-to's and added these to my patriotic card in a box, miniature versions, of course!  Every month I have used a different die.  The die of the month is the Never Ending die from Inky Antics.  In fact, it is really getting a work-out, as I am using it on two cards this month!  One is using it in the traditional way, creating a never ending square of images and the other card is using it as a pop-up, pop-out!  Ok, I guess I had better start showing you my cards ... enjoy!

Summer Fun - Wed. June 24th 11:00 a.m. and Sat. June 28th 2:30 p.m.
In this class you will make three creative and unique cards.  We all loved the box in a card that we made a few months ago, but I have a fun variation for you ... a rectangle one and it is all red, white, and blue!  Plus, on this one we will be making 3D stars and pinwheels!  And then continuing our series of creating with a different die every month, we are going to use the Never Ending Card die by Inky Antics to make some fun add-ons and pop-outs for two of the cards, both with summertime themes!  Please bring adhesive to include scor-tape (any size),foam tape,  pop-up dots, detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  All other supplies provided.  (Copics used (for those who have asked to know ahead of time): card 2: YG01, Y08, Y38, B000, E43, E00, E35, card 3: C1, R05, BG13, YG03, Y32, B52)

I had planned on having another card for you tomorrow but with the way the day has gone, I am behind for sure.  I will be back on Saturday for the share.

Hats Off to You!

Hello!  Today, I am back with another card.  This one is a graduation card that I made for a friend's daughter.  Another friend had "cased" a card similar to this one that she found on pinterest.  But, I changed mine because I wanted to use some pattern paper and then playing around with it, I even changed the card design from vertical to horizontal.  I like the result.  Let me show you ... enjoy!

Yes, it is purple!  School colors ... in fact, she graduated from the same school I did (36 years later).  You think that was a long time ... my mom graduated from there 81 years ago ... wow!  Anyway, back to my card ... the little purple confetti does shake around which is really cool!  I found the darkest and brightest purples I could in my stash.  The tiny purple dot is Bazzill.  And the star paper is from a pack of $1 paper pack from Target.  What do you think?

 

I am still working on class samples - One down (A 4th of July card ...love it!), on to the second, so far, so good.  Gotta get them finished TODAY!  See you tomorrow for either the class samples or one of the sympathy cards I made to sell to a lady at church.

Flowers Just for You!

Hello!  My friend, Donna and I got together last week and did a joint creative project, combining some supplies she has and some that I have.  She had purchased the Memory Box window die, and I had gotten the Memory Box window box die and then just recently I got some dies from Impression Obsession that I thought we could combine together to make cute window cards.  Well... we soon found out that her window die and my window box are not the same sizes!  I have the large window box die and she has the smaller window, so this week at the scrapbook convention, I will be on the lookout for the smaller window box die!  To make them match, I had to do a little cutting on the window box, but really I don't think anyone would know (except you, 'cause I just told you!) because I covered it up with flowers and green "stuff"!  Let me show you ... enjoy!

Most of the window cards I have seen are just the window on the base, but you know me, I had to come up with something that would add interest to the card, without taking away from the focus of the window.  I like how it came out and I hope you do too!

I am off now to get back to my class samples.  Gotta get them done, as it is already two weeks out!  Yikes!  I have other cards to show you, so hopefully, I will be back with another card tomorrow!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  First, I like to say, thank goodness for the Saturday shares, as they seem to be the only cards that I am sharing on my blog lately.  So, let's get to today's share.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

I think both Debbie and like this sketch.  You know there doesn't seem to be as many sketches that are horizontal designs.  This one fits that bill plus, I think, it has a lot of interest.  We used it in two ways.  She put her main image in the circle, and I added a sentiment there.  Do you like this sketch?

What Cancer Cannot Do ...!

Hello!  I have a couple of cards to share that I recently made for those I know that are going through a battle with cancer.  A good friend of mine had this stamp about cancer with wonderful uplifting statements, so back in January at the stamp convention, I got this same stamp.  (It is unmounted and I don't remember the company, sorry.)  My first card today, I used this stamp.  Have you ever purchased a sentiment stamp and wished it was in a different font or layed out differently?  This is one of those stamps.  So, I took the words and typed them out on my computer, printed it and used that for the second card.  Too cards ... enjoy!

I would like to figure out a better card with the actual stamp, as I really need to do one more cancer thinking of you card for someone else.  I also have plans this week to work on a group of sympathy cards for a lady at church.  And, I need a graduation card, and I need to get going on my class sample ideas.  As I get the tasks completed, I will try to show them here.

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  My pick for the quote of the day comes with a story.  A moral, really.  The moral is ... you never know how you or what you do affects other people.  Here's my words of wisdom for the day ...enjoy!

And here is the story... This week was my teaching week and so I always find out the names of who is coming to class, because I make name tags.  Well, one of the names I was given, was a name that sound familiar. I figured she had taken one of my classes in the past.  So, when this lady showed up, she kinda looked familiar and I asked her name and she told me and I thought well, I am not sure about her taking a class before, but I really didn't think anymore about it.  So, after class, she says to me "I had just lost my mother when I found your store". ... (light bulb here - she was a customer of mine!)... "and you and your store saved me"!  (Note here, I told this story to my husband and he rolled his eyes at this point, but anyone that crafts, and I know you do or you wouldn't be reading my blog, "gets it", crafting can feel the void of sorrow, grief, anything and everything!)  The story continues ... she also said that she did not know it was me teaching, until she got here and saw me!  She had seen my cards and thought, hey I will treat myself to a card class for my birthday.  And then finds out I am the one teaching.  Wow, God is in there, for sure!   Thanks for letting me share.  And remember, YOU have gifts to bring to the world, whether it is told to you or not!
