Saturday Sketch Share (Late on Sunday)!

Hello!  I told you yesterday's post was going to be late, as in today, as opposed to yesterday, but, I wasn't planning on it being this late today.  Late or not, I wanted to go ahead and show you my share cards because tomorrow I am going to have a Crafty Scrapper's design team post both here and on their blog.  I think both Debbie and I really liked the sketch this week.  Let's get to it and you can see what you think.  I will be showing you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

Debbie's theme was a birthday card for ME!  Woo Hoo!  She knows I love lime green so she added ultra thick embossing enamel onto the big balloon.  Cool!  Yes, it has a crack across it, which likely happened in transit, but it doesn't change the fact that I love her card.  I like how mine came out too. Die cut flowers, so fun.

Goody Goody Gumballs!

Hello!  Yes, I know this is Saturday, but you are going to have to wait until at least tomorrow for the share.  I didn't get Debbie's card in the mail yesterday and since this is a special day, my hubby and I are off early to enjoy our day.  It is our birthdays!  Remember, our birthdays are on the same day.  Not the same year, but the same day!  So, since I knew I had the card I made for Gary to share with you, I figure you won't mind waiting a day or two for the share!  I guess after making my class cards, I have shaker cards on the brain.  I remembered a stamp and die set that I bought at the stamp convention back in January that hasn't been inked up yet and thought it would make a fun shaker card!  And it did!  Here it is ... enjoy!

I got out the scraps from the class cards last month and found a sketch that would work with my gumball rectangle and allow me to use some of my scraps too.  I love how it came out!  The stamp and die set is from Taylored Expressions.  So fun!  I have always loved my birthday, probably more than he loves his.  I just get more excited about simple things, I think.  Anyway, I think the sentiment should say ... Goody, Goody Gumballs it is MY birthday!  LOL!

Thinking of You with Flowers!

Hello!  One of my favorite cards of the group I made last week, was the card I am showing you today.  I used one of those peel-off stickers to create the main image.  I think this sticker is from Elizabeth Crafts, which probably means it is not called peel-offs, as I think that is what Magenta called them and since I sold their product when I had my store, that is what I call all these type stickers.  :Let me show you my card ...

 

 

 

And I used a matching peel-off sticker on the inside too ...

 

 

The card I "cased" had the sticker on top of some dictionary type paper, but I didn't have of that, so I hunted down this old background stamp.  It is the Irish prayer in a beautiful script font.  The stamp is, or should I say "was" a Stampin' Up stamp and has a date of 1999 on it ... told you it was old!  Anyway, I layered onto more of the same background giving the recipient more of a chance to read it.  And then I colored in the flowers with my Copics right over the stamped script image.  Love how it came out!

Each New Day Brings Hope!

Hello!  Today I am sharing one of about 12 cards I made early last week.  One of the ladies at church that buys cards from me had asked if I could make her some get well and sympathy cards.  She first asked me about three weeks ago but I put off doing it until I got past my big class last month.  I decided I was going to make an additional one of each card to take to The Crafty Scrapper to try to sell on consignment.  I don't know if they will sell or not, but I have been thinking about it trying it all year.  I kept telling myself that I would wait until I had a bunch of cards to take, well, it is May and I have yet to make a bunch, so I decided I should start somewhere!  There is another couple of people that sell their cards, but of course, they are different than mine.  One of the ladies sells hers for $3.29 but because the store will take a 20% consignment fee, I just couldn't go that low.  Also, mine will be finished on the inside with cardstock panels, some stamped, some not.  I am selling mine for $4 each, which means I would receive $3.20 each, which is low, but I hated to be too much higher.  We'll see how it goes.  I am thinking it will make me take time to make some cards and of course, I can show you them here too.  The one I have for you today could be used for sympathy or get well.  Enjoy!

May Class Share!

Hello!  I finished my May class cards last Friday.  I had planned to do a post on them on Saturday afternoon, but then we had a big electrical storm on Friday night that seemed to have taken out our modem.  The crazy part is that at first, I thought the modem was okay and was trying to fix another computer issue (Ethernet cable).  In the end, it was the modem all along.  So, now I have internet back to show you my class cards!  Last month's class was such a great class with such great reception, I had a little trouble deciding what I wanted to do this month.  Looking around on the internet, I came across some you tube videos on shaker cards and making them different than having to cut the 3M foam tape in layers.  This part has always frustrated me.  So, with a new idea and new products that The Crafty Scrapper got in from My Favorite Things, I decided to create some shaker cards!  I love the title of my class .... "Whole Lot of Shakin' Goin' On"!  Here are my cards ... enjoy!

First up, is a shake card in a die shape...

 And the inside ...

Next, is a shaker frame ...

I left the inside blank without a sentiment but I am matching the inside paper with the paper I used on the birdhouse on the front ...

And lastly, they call this one a "peek a boo" shaker, because the sentiment peeks thru the opening ..;

I love how all three came out!  And, I love how I combined seed beads and sequins to give it some extra shake!  The seed beads are from my stash when I had the store, so it feels great to get to use them. Below is the class description and the details if you are local or even if you are not.  I seem to be having quite a number of long distance people order my kits, pretty cool.  The Crafty Scrapper's number is 972-923-3151.

I have always loved shaker cards, but cutting and layering tapes to make them is frustrating.  No more of that as I have found an easy fix!  You are going to love it too!  In class, you will be creating three creative and fun shaker cards using some new favorite stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.  Please bring adhesive to include 1/4" scor-tape, micro glue dots, detailed scissors, and your preferred coloring medium.  (Copics I used -Card #3: E00m R27, BG23, E35, E37).  All other supplies provided.

 

I have quite a number of cards that I recently made to show you.  So, hopefully, I will pop in tomorrow to show you one of those!

Saturday's Sketch Share (on Monday night!)

Hello!  I know you wondered what happened to me!  There have been major technical difficulties at our house, but the biggest issue was no internet.  A big electrical storm on Friday night took out our modem and getting another one is not as simple as you would think. That issue is fixed now plus other issues like no home phone and leaking roof with the heavy rain we had last night.  I not only have Saturday's share cards but I also have my next class share to show you and a bunch of other cards I made, but right now, I am doing the Saturday share and I will be back tomorrow with the class cards.  Enjoy!

This one is a great example of how to turn a tag into a card.  I had not stamped one of the Pure Innocence girls in a while, so I went with that idea.  I love Debbie's big flower.  What do you think of this sketch?  Thoughts?

No, we didn't coordinate about using the same colors ... too funny!  I think we both liked this sketch.  The last couple of weeks, I thought the sketches were kinda boring and this one was not.  A bit of a challenge which is always fun!  You can see from my card that any element (like the hearts) can be changed to make the card work.  Love them both!  How about you?

I am off to teach today. So far, all my Wed. ladies really enjoyed the prep work that I did for this class, so glad since I did a lot!
