Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello! Yes, I know you have not seen me all week. I knew I would be busy with the class kits and the fact that the grandson was here visiting, but once I realized I had lots of sign ups for my classes and I would be making 23 kits, well, time really got away from me. Now, I am not complaining about classes as I love my teaching gig and the money it brings, so that I can buy more stamps and supplies! This week's share was one of the ones where we had a choice between square or circle. As usual, Debbie went with the square choice and I, with the circle choice. I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!

This was just not my favorite card, or sketch this week!  Truthfully, it was my fault that I waited until the last minute to make my card, not giving me time to go with a new plan when it wasn't coming out as I thought it would.  The image is one by Paula Best that I love but in this card, it just seemed to busy.  The part of the card I like the best is the circle/star embellishment I made, love that!  The sentiment was one I printed off the computer that I used in my class and I had an extra one, so I decided to use it, but it really dosen't match, color wise.  Oh, well.  Now, Debbie's card, is pretty darn cute, don't you think?

Saturday Sketch Share!

Such a nice sketch, don't you think?  Another sketch that should be in the "go to" file of sketches that are easy to work with and are very appealing.  On a personal note about mine ... I saw this idea on one of the blogs how they used the PI Easter girl and put flowers over the top of her eggs in her basket.  I loved this idea, but I couldn't find this stamp.  I finally realized I had put it away with the other Easter stamps ... duh!  So glad I found her so that I could make such a fun card.  The flowers were from my stash and they were Jollie's corner rounders, which I tore apart to get the small individual flowers. Also, they were white, and I colored them with my copics. 

The next week is my teaching week and also the grandson (15 years old) is coming for a visit.  So, I am not sure when I will be back.  I will have to get the Saturday card done, so I will try to get at least one or two more done, so I can have a couple of posts for you.  See you soon!

Just Flying By To Say Hi!

Hello!  Yesterday, thinking about what I wanted to do for my post today, I realized I had not completed my monthly task of making a card for Jen's Sketch for You To Try challenge.  So, off I went with an idea, of which went south!  But, I got a new idea, and it soared!  (A little play on words here!)  I am excited to show you what I came up with.  I will show you my card first, and then the June sketch.  Enjoy!

This adorable stamp is from one of the Inky Antics Benton bear sets that I got back in January.  It is just too funny!  My original card idea was a patriotic one and I was going to make the stars on the sketch be stars, but when that idea went south and I changed my idea, I had to change the stars to clouds. But I like it!   How about you?

Recipe:

Paper - Cloud Circle behind airplane is from Echo Park Sweet Day 6 x 6, all other DP is from My Minds Eye Lime Twist Life of the Party 6 x 6, Cardstock White, Brown
Stamps - Inky Antics Aviator Bear
Ink - Memento Black, Copics, Prismacolor Pencils (had to use both so I would have more color choices ... especially needed silver pencil for blades)
Tools - Spellbinders Circle, Cloud dies from Papertreyink
Other - Quicky Glue Pen, Crystal glitter (around edge of clouds), Brad for center of blades, Brown Pearls

Seize the Cupcake! (Liners!)

Hello! Good grief ... where has my week gone? It is already Thursday and I am just not getting my first post of the week done. Oh well, this is is worth the wait! As you know, I am mainly a papercrafter, but every once in a while, I try my hand at something else. And pinterest is to blame! You see, a while back I saw on pinterest where someone had made a wreath with cupcake liners! Oh my goodness, so cute! And it looked quite easy. About a month ago, my friend, Donna and I were in Tyler at Michaels and we were going up and down the aisles. In the cupcake aisle, we started talking about the wreath we had both "pinned", so we ended up getting all the liners and the green form we needed to make our wreathes. And we finally had a day last week to get together to try our hand at this fun form of wreath making. They came out awesome! Let me show you mine!  Enjoy!

This was one of the easiest projects I have ever tried!  Here is the link to the instructions.  In the instructions, she said that she used small cupcake liners to fill in any holes.  Well, they were not needed for mine, as my liners were pinned in very close to each other.  I didn't really plan on doing it that way, it just how I started and once I started, I just kept doing it that way.  As I know you are wondering, how many cupcake liners I did use, since mine is full ... I think I used about 200.  I know that seems like a lot but I had 3 packages of 75, so if you look at that way, it really isn't so many!  Donna thought this would be great in red, white, or blue or reds and greens for the holidays.  I agree!  The wreath is going to be hung in my craft room, those are my colors!!  What do you think?  Creative and pretty?

No Bones About It ...

... Pawsitively, You make our life sweet! This is the sentiment on today's card for my hubby's Father's Day card from me and the girls (Coco, the chihuahua and Red, the Pom)! I told you the card I would make for my hubby would be on the fun side! I combined two dogs sets from Inky Antics, seen here on this page, to make my honeycomb pop-up card. Let me show you! Enjoy!

Didn't it come out cute?  My hubby loves ice cream so the honeycomb ice cream cone is perfect.   I decided to go with the rainbow honeycomb just for fun, even though his favorite's are vanilla and strawberry!  One note, I have done a bunch of these honeycomb pop up cards for myself, for others and in classes.  One complaint from class takes is when they use their copics to color the inside images, it shows thru to the back of the card.  The way I did Gary's card is my idea of a solution for this and I like it!  So, I might just have to do a honeycomb class again soon so I can share my new idea!

Just a couple of quick comments.  This sketch was super simple and could easily be a great "go to" sketch to have around!  Debbie went with a man's theme, since Father's Day is tomorrow.  And, I obviously, had flip flops on the brain, since I had just finished my class samples!  I do want to note that the stripes that are on my flip flops are made with the copic colorless blender.  How cool is that?

I have to get a Father's Day card made for my hubby today!  I will be back tomorrow to show you what I come up with.  I am sure it will be something fun!

Smile!

Hello! I needed a quick, fun card to made yesterday for the granddaughter, so I came across the cute bunny in the flowers stamp from The Cat's Pajamas and decided to go with it. Without even trying, it seems that I practically copied a card I have made before. And doing a search, I found it wasn't that long ago ... May 12th to be exact! Oh, well, different papers, different colors makes for a "new" card! Here it is ... enjoy!

I have to say this stamp is one of my favorites!  It is just too darn cute!  And it makes me Smile, that is for sure.  How about you?
