Witchly Wishes!

Hello!  I have another Halloween card for you today.  I was looking through my trays of Halloween stamps and was noticing how many witch stamps I have.  I own at least 10!  Some are scary and some are sweet, like the one I am using today.  Now I know when you think of a witch, the word sweet just doesn't go with the image, but that is exactly what goes with the stamp I used on this card.  Let me show you ... enjoy!

See what I mean?  Doesn't she have just the sweetest face?  I have a whole case full of Halloween papers, but all the images just didn't seem right for this card, so I went looking through my 6 x 6 pads to see if I could come up with some papers with smaller print that would work together.  The orange print and the dotted print came from two different pads, but they work great together!  This sketch is from My Favorite Things from back in July and can be seen here.  In the sketch, they used a scallop border across the bottom, but I couldn't resist using my new favorite in it's place.  I love how this one turned out, don't you?

Trick or Treat!

Hello! I have a few Halloween cards done that I will be showing you this week.  I wanted to get a few done that I could take to the gift shop that I sell my cards at.  I know not everyone likes Halloween but I have some of the cutest Halloween stamps, so I am thinking they won't be able to resist.  For today's card, I went with one of the Saturday's sketches and one that I put in my go to sketch group.  (You can see my group here on this post.)  Let me show you my card ... it's pretty cute!  Enjoy!

Do you see the border of the graveyard at the top?  Last year, one of my friend's brought several border punches to one of the crops and I punched a bunch out.  Then, what I didn't use on cards last year, got put in the same container as my Halloween papers to be ready for this year.  It was perfect for this card.  Isn't little Frankie adorable?

Remember the card I did last week with the awesome Halloween die across the front?  (See it here.)  I made a remark that I thought the inside of the card was too plain.  Well, my friend Cathy text me with some suggestions!  Her suggestion was to take the negative of the die and color it on the inside piece with some ink.  I thought it was a great idea.  But, with playing around with it, I found that I didn't like the whole negative, mainly because the house is solid, so I decided to go with just a part of the negative for the inside.  Below is what I came up with ...



Below is what the whole think looked like ... do you see why I wasn't crazy about the solid house?  So, much cuter with all the windows cut out.  Don't you think?

I will be back tomorrow with another Halloween card.  I am now off to work on my November class samples!  I have to have them done by the beginning of November for a special event they are having at The Crafty Scrapper promoting the holiday classes at the store.  I am teaching next week, then there is one week before my cruise!  See you soon!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello! I haven't been back in my room for a few days, instead I have been online looking for ideas for my November Christmas card class. I hope to work on the class samples in the next few days. I think I made mine the day after I made the Halloween card I showed you a few days ago ...I obviously was in a Halloween mood!  The Dracula stamp is one of those $1 individual clear stamps from Imaginisce.  I really don't think it is the best made polymer stamp, as it didn't stamp as smooth as I would have liked, but who can complain for $1, right?  I love the flower die that Debbie used.  In person, it looks like she die cut it out of white and then colored it with ink.  So pretty.  What do you think of this week's cards?  Do you like the sketch? 

I guess this is World Cardmaking Day today, so ... don't be left out ... go make a card or something creative!  See you next week!

Not Afraid of Storms...!

Hello!  I am back today with a non-holiday card.  I told you I am not quite ready to do the holiday cards every day yet.  There are a couple of stamps from Verve that I got in my free haul a while back that I keep seeing show up on blogs.  I decided it was time to ink them up!  In getting caught up on my blog reading, I saw an interesting sketch from Verve and thought it would be perfect to pair the two!  This challenge is actually a month worth of sketches, maybe I will try to do them all, we'll see how it goes.  But for now, let me show you my card with the stamps I have been anxious to ink up.  I will also show you the sketch I used.  Enjoy!

I love how it came out even though I almost ran out of room for the little boat image.  Yes, I know the sentiment was too tall for the sketch, but by the time I figured it out, I had already decided on colors, papers, etc.  So ... I made it work.  I went with a rectangle of vellum so that it would be see -thru and I could still see the sentiment.  I think it works, how about you?

On a personal note, the grandson's pig did not place yesterday at the fair.  But, I know Sean enjoyed the experience and will likely try again next year.

Happy Halloween Card #1!

Hello!  I promised to be back today with a Halloween card.  When I was at The Crafty Scrapper last weekend teaching I saw that they got some new dies in from Impression Obsession.  I got a couple to use in my November class and I also got the Halloween scene one that I am using today!  So many stamp companies have gotten on the band wagon to sell these silver metal dies to compliment their stamps!  It's great because there are lots of choices, but also bad because I want so many!  I have alot of Halloween stamps so I debated about getting this die, but I am so glad I did.  Let me show my card ... sooo cute!  Enjoy!

I made it like the card I taught in my August class where there is a split and the top part of the front of the card is cut away.  You can't see it in the photo but the moon is made with that shimmer cardstock.  This was a super easy card to make.  I might have to make a bunch to send.  The only problem is I don't have a lot of the star paper as it was just one sheet I found in my Halloween stash, so I'll have to look and see what I can substitute for it.  But, don't worry, even if I make this my card to send, I will still be making other Halloween cards to show you.  And really, I should make them soon, so that I can take them to the gift shop where I sell my cards.  So, this month, you will see a combination of regular themed cards (not giving in totally to the holidays ... yet) and Halloween cards.  Looking at the images above, I think the inside rectangle writing space needs some help, it is too plain!  Will change that if I do make more of this one!  What do you think ... do you not adore this die?

I will be back in a couple of days with another creation.  Tomorrow we are off to the State Fair to see the grandson show his pig.  I hope "Bacon" does well!  I know, ... what a name he picked for him.  When you show at the fair, they keep the animals, so I guess "Bacon" is an appropriate name.  But, still ....

October Class Share!

 

Hello! For my second post of the day, I wanted to show you the pics for my October class. I know it seems a little early in the month for me to already have this accomplished, but my class dates won't be at their usual last week of the month because I will be gone on a cruise ... yipee! Actually, I am also already working on the November and December class samples, as those dates are different because of the holidays. So, soon I will have those to show you too. But, for today, I have the October class pics. Let me get to them. Enjoy!

Snowy Friends for the Holidays - Wed. October 17th 11:00 a.m. or Sat., October 20th 2:30 p.m. $25

We are kicking off holiday cardmaking with some of the cutest snowy friends stamps. All three cards are creative and unique, and include a honeycomb pop-up card, a side step card and a slider card.   Please bring detailed scissors, adhesive to include a glue stick, your preferred coloring medium (copics, colored pencils, etc.) All other supplies provided.

Angel Birthday Wishes!

Hello!  I finished the card I told you about on Saturday, so I have that one to show you.  I am also doing a second post with my October class samples, so look for that one in a little while!  I think I told you that a lady from my church asked if I could make her a card for her sister's birthday.  She also told me her sister loves angels.  Other than possible Christmas angels, I knew of one set that might work.  And it did work.  Since the card would be given and not sent, I used one of the flowers that doesn't lie so flat and also make it an easel card.  Let me show you.  Enjoy!

 

 

I think it came out nice.  I gave it to Charlene, the lady, yesterday at church.  She liked it and thought her sister would like it too!  I sure hope so!  What do you think?
