Saturday Sketch Share! (On Sunday!)

Hello!  I bet you are wondering what is going on with me, as I totally forgot that yesterday was Saturday until this morning when my hubby asked me if I was going to church!  I guess my week is off with Thanksgiving or something.  I hope everyone had a great holiday with family and friends.  We did.  Let me get to this week's share.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I am pretty sure I have done this sketch before and I like it.  I know Debbie said she did too!  Just a couple of notations ... if I was worried about how I colored my turkey for last Saturday's card, I should not have, since Debbie's turkey is a little wild!  But, I like it!  And she did do a great job in matching the colors in the paper!  Every year, I use this same stamp but she is so cute ... yes, she ... Ruta is her name!  Girls Rule!  Hee, Hee!  She guides Santa and she is guiding me, as I made four more of this card to begin my holiday cardmaking.  Christmas is sooner this year, or at least it seems like it, so I don't know how many I can get made, but I am going to try to make as many as possible.  But first, I have to finish December class samples.  I will be done later today.  So, I might be back this evening with them or first thing tomorrow.  And my Sunday post, in a few minutes!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  Another week and you haven't seen me.  This one has been busy, as it is my teaching week.  As you know, this class had four cards instead of three and I made 20 kits, selling 19 of them.  All that takes time to prep and get ready for.  I am leaving to teach again today in a little while, so we had better get to the share!  This is one of the weeks that Debbie and I had a choice between square or circle.  We both went square and both with a little Thanksgiving inspiration.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
Now, let's talk about the sketch ... for me, it is way too simple.  Not enough layers, no interesting elements.  Of course, there are a lot of people out there in the cardmaking world that like clean and simple designs!  This one is one for them.  It doesn't mean it's wrong, it's just not my style.  With that said, I do like the papers and the stamps on both cards.  Note, I didn't know what colors to make my turkey, so if I did wrong ... well, tough!

See you tomorrow for the words of wisdom post.

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello!  The quote for today is simple, very simple ... enjoy!

This looks to be a very busy week.  I am teaching this week, and it looks like I will be prepping for a full class with 4 cards, instead of my usual 3!  I also have to finish a project for the store's design team and make samples for my December class.  Wow!  The bad part is it is cold, and all I want to do is snuggle on the couch ... but that cannot be an option this week!   Have a good week.  Stay warm!

Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello!  No, you are not crazy ... it is not Saturday ... yes, it is Sunday!  Not one time yesterday, did I think ... oh, there is something I do every Saturday, like show you the weekly cards.  It didn't occur to me until this morning.  So, better late than never ... I have this week's share  between Debbie and I.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I love both of the cards this week!  And I think I like the sketch too!  Just looking at the sketch in black and white, it's okay, but it really comes to life when you add color and stamps!  Looking at Debbie's card, compared to mine, I think the fact that she added the solid color cardstock circle behind the main image, is a great idea, as it separates the designer papers from the image.  Next time, I will do just that!

I am off to find a favorite quote for the post you usually see on Sundays!

Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another share between Debbie and I.  Let's get right to it,   I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch

As I was unpacking from my last class, I realized I had enough of the papers and die cuts to create the card for this week, so that is what I did!  I see Debbie was thinking fall too, with her football themed card.  Fall fun from both of us - yippee!  What do you think of this sketch?  At first, I thought it was a little busy, but after making my card, I think I like it!  Don't you?

See you tomorrow for my words of wisdom post.

November Class Share!

Hello!  I am back from our cruise!  It was a good time, for sure.  I spent a couple of days chilling, and then it was time to get to my next class samples.  Took a good three days to complete them, but I love how they came out.   I usually do three cards in my classes, but this time, there are four!  Enjoy!

This first one is called a Peek-a-Boo card.  It is a new one to me and it looks hard, but it is super simple ...
