Saturday's Sketch Share (a day late)!

Hello!  I didn't forget yesterday about the weekly share but I didn't get home from a little mini trip until the afternoon, so I decided to put it off until today.  My BFF, Donna, and I (and 2 of our doggies) spent 4 nights at a state park about an hour from here!  Her and her hubby recently bought a travel trailer and her hubby was kind enough to drive it there, set it up, and leave and then come back and get it.  We had planned to stay only 3 nights, but asked on Wednesday if it was possible for us to stay another night.  We were thrilled, but a little surprised that they said yes, after all, it is Labor Day weekend!  It seems we had the prime spot of the whole park, and one that as people were coming in for the big weekend, they were asking for!  When we got there on Tuesday, we had the pick of any spot!  We had a great time!  We played games, and crafted a lot.  Later this week, I will be showing you the "gift" that we made for her step daughter who is having another baby.  Yes, I am being a little secretive, as I am friends with her on FB and I want her to get the gift before I talk about it!  I will say it is awesome! We also made several Halloween cards that I will also share with you sometime soon!

Yes, I did make a fall card, but that doesn't mean I have made the switch to fall, it just means that I bought a new 6 x 6 pad that I wanted to use!  I love Debbie's card this week!  The palette, the swatches, and the brushes are all on watercolor paper.  So pretty!  Yes, her brushes make the diagonals go out of the panel, but so what?  I love how her card came out and mine too ... how about you?

Saturday Sketch Share!

Hello!  This week has been a busy one.  It is my teaching week and even though I had done some of the class prepping  about a week ago, there was still a lot to do.  After Wed.'s class, I had to rewrite instructions and fix a couple of the kits.  I think I am ready today to teach the second class.  I had hoped to take time to do a couple of posts for you, but didn't get to it.  But, I do have today's cards between Debbie and I.  Enjoy!

I like this sketch.  I wish I would have made my base a dark color instead of the white, as I think my light coloring of the octopus made the whole card seem bland.  I almost always do a white base because usually it brightens the cards up, but not this time.  I love the sentiment on mine ... You octopi my thoughts!  Hee, Hee!  Cute cards ... both of them!  You think?

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back with another share between Debbie and I.  Last Saturday, you might remember, my card had a popsicle theme and Debbie's card had a nautical scene.  Both perfect for summer.  Well, this week, we switched!  I have a nautical theme and Debbie's is a popsicle theme!  Funny, huh?  I do have to note, that Debbie does her weekly cards several weeks in advance so it is purely coincidental that it happened that way with her cards!  Me, no, I make them in the same week that I need them, so did I plan my nautical theme today?  Maybe!  I'm not telling!  Hee, Hee!  Let's get to it.  The sketch is one of the tall and skinny ones and I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

Party On!

Hello!  I had been doing so good about getting a couple of posts ready every couple of days, well, until yesterday.  No worries, I have another whimsical birthday card to show you today.  Enjoy!

What a handsome fellow he is!  Hee, Hee!  That tiny balloon combined with those great big shoes just gives me a chuckle!  The Party On sentiment is stamped on the inside.  I couldn't find a good place to add it on the front. but as you know, not having some kind of sentiment on the front is a rarity for me.  Fun card.  My friend at church liked it and I hope you do too!

Wet My Plants!

Hello!  I have another whimsical card for you today.  The sentiment totally makes this card a hoot!  Enjoy!

It makes me laugh right out loud!  I saw a card on Pinterest where they trimmed around the right side of the gardener woman.  I love it.  Such a great idea, since she is a pretty large stamp.  It gives some extra interest to the card, I think.  Do you like this one?

Birthday Roses!



Hello!  I am back today to show you another birthday card I made for a friend at church that buys them from me.  This time I used the Stampendous Bouquet stamps to create my card.  The way it is made is kinda cool ... enjoy!

 

 

 

 Do you see that the Happy Birthday sentiment is actually on the inside layer and the way I cut the top part off, it allows it to show through?   Below, shows the inside ...

I did not like the white cardstock which was the back of the vase showing, so I added that brown piece.  It still looks kinda weird, but better than it was.  I like how this card came out, you?
