Saturday Sketch Share! (On Sunday!)

Hello!  Sorry about being late this week.  Sometimes that happens on my teaching week.  Yesterday's class had 12 people in it, which is a big class.  It went well I thought and now it is on to working on class samples for the next one.  But for now, I have the share between Debbie and I.  I will show you my card, her card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
The stamp set I used with these birds was a honey pop set so it had this heart image to stamp on the honeycomb paper.  It really is supposed to go on the inside of the card, but I thought it would make for a fun embellishment.  I put a piece of scor-tape on the side, left the liner on, and added the word "open".  Since Debbie is a fellow stamper, she will "get it"!  As you know, horizontal sketches are hard to find and this one is nice, but that flag panel somewhat limits what image you add in the larger panel.  Debbie's flowers are a good choice!  Love them both!  How about you?

Next, I am doing a post with the quote of the day.  Look for it!

Saturday's Sketch Share! (On a Sunday!)

Hello!  Yes, I am late.  Yesterday, was stamp convention number 2 for the month, and I left the house early.  My stamp convention report is that this year the Stamp Scrap Art Tour convention was better than the Heirloom one, at least for me, I found more to spend my money on at the Stamp Scrap Art one yesterday.  Of course, both conventions I got to see a lot of ex customers, which I love. Also, I have one more "announcement" ... my stamp shack is clean!  Well, not clean, as I have too much stuff to really say clean, but I can see the floor and the top of my desk and other work surfaces!  (At least mostly)!  Yipee!  I am teaching this week, so perfect timing to mess it up again!  No really, for the first couple of weeks, I try to do better about putting things away and cleaning up after every project.  Okay, enough about everything except what you are waiting to see.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
As you can see, the sketch is a tall and skinny version, which means our cards are not as wide, only 3 1/2", but this sketch would work great for the A2 size too!  I love the sketch.  You can do windows like I did or square like Debbie did.  So many great possibilities!  Now, yesterday, when I saw Debbie at the show, she said it was too early for me to do a Valentine card.  Really?  I don't think so!  Do you?  Don't you love both cards and the sketch this week?

I am also doing a words of wisdom post today, so look for that one too!

Time To Celebrate!

Hello!  I am back with another birthday card for you.  Enjoy!

I am happy to report that for the last two days I have been out in my shack trying to organize, put the holiday stuff away and trying to just get my room in some kind of order so that I can create more easily.  And there is room for my dog to come hang out with me again!  It's not there yet, but I am close.

See you tomorrow for the Saturday share!

Flowers are God's Way of Smiling!

Hello!  I am back with another birthday card I made for a friend at church. I used a bright pink floral 6 x 6 on a recent Saturday sketch card, you might remember it.  The sketch I picked for my card had similar strips of paper, so I used the same pad.  Love how it came out ... enjoy!

Let's see, the sentiment, which is awesome, is from a set from Inky Antics and the flower, of course, is Verve.  Pretty, don't you think?

See you tomorrow!

Flowers Just for You!

Hello!  Late last month, I got an order for some birthday cards from a friend at church.  I finally got them done last week.  She wanted four.  I made three new ones and added one of the samples from my last year's birthday class.  Because those are perfect for a man or a woman.  I will be showing you one card today, and then one card the next two days.  Here is the first ... enjoy!

I love how this one came out.  I used that flower and die set from My Favorite Things again.  This time I matched the paper with my colors instead of coloring them purple, as lilacs are. The sentiment is a clear stamp from my stash, that right now I don't know who made it.

See you tomorrow!

Wishing You Comfort!

Hello!  Today I have for you a sympathy card.  I cased this one from one I saw on pinterest.  It is pretty simple, as I think sympathy cards should be.  Let me show you ...enjoy!

The stamp set is from Verve.  I really like the black and white and one color themed card.  Don't you?

I will be back tomorrow for the Saturday share!

You Are Not Forgotten! (+ a second card to share)

Hello!  Last year, as you know, I was in love with shaker cards ... I guess I am still in love, because it is early in the month of January and already I have made my first shaker card!  At the store's end of the year sale, I bought a die from My Favorite Things seen here, that allowed me an easy way to create my shaker card.  I almost didn't buy this die, but at the last minute, I decided I think I will get it.  So glad.  I love it!  I also used a stamp and die set from the same company that I ordered online around Black Friday.  Now that the holidays are behind us, I was ready to stamp it up!  Let me show you my card.  Enjoy!

To create shaker cards, I use fun foam for the cushion well for my sequins and beads.  Since I was using a die, I simply die cut the foam and then it is exactly the right size.  So easy and that is why I love shaker cards, STILL!

Earlier last week, I used this same background die for another card I sent.  This time I die cut cardstock instead of pattern paper but added pattern paper behind for some interest.  I am showing this card today too.  It is a very simple card, but it was made for a 9 year old boy, so I could do simple!  Enjoy ... again!

Okay, that is it for today!
Happy Stamping!

A Bouquet for Your Birthday!

Hello!   I have no excuses why it is Wed. and I thought I would be back on Monday.  For sure, I can't say it is because I have been cleaning my room, no, I have been staying away!  Big job, don't wanna!  But, I do have a card to show you, one that I sent last week to my stepdaughter.  Enjoy!

Does that sketch look familiar?  It should, as it was one of the Saturday sketch shares we did back in late November.  (you can check out the original post here).  It is a perfect sketch for when you have a tall and skinny image.  I love how it came out.  Don't you?

January Class Share!

Hello!  I got my class samples done on Sunday, well, almost done.  I thought one of the projects needed one more little thing, something that I had seen at the store.  So, yesterday, I was off to Waxahachie, fixed it, and now the samples are there for you to see!  I have photos for you here today, but in person, is always best.  January is a month that I usually do some different type items, not just cards.  One of my class takers, had sent me a pinterest link a few months ago of this folded paper purse.  The post was in another language which my computer translated the words but the measurements were still in centimeters, but I was up to the challenge.  Actually, it's too easy for words, especially since the scoring will be done before class by me!  Cute project.  Before I had thought through how much paper this first project would actually take to finish, I was on to making a second project for the class.  This one is a fold over pocket accordion book, made with envelopes.  So simple. It has 12 pull-outs which I have all kinds of ideas for that I will be sharing in the class kits.  Okay, let's get to them.  3D projects are hard to photograph but I think you can get the idea ... enjoy!

First, the paper purse ...

Here is a side view, still closed ...

And then it opens and the recipient goes "wow" ...

The second project is the pocket book.  Here it is closed....
(The "love" die is what I had to get from the store to finish it off, it is perfect!)

And again, when it opens, one is "wowed" ...

Here is a side view, opened ...

Here are the class details, if you are interested.  Don't forget, if you aren't local, you can always do a kit by mail.  Just call the store at 972-923-3151 or contact me.

Two Projects From the Heart!  Wed. Jan. 27th 11:00 a.m. and Sat. Jan. 30th 2:30 p.m. $28
You will be creating two different projects in this class. The first, by special request, is a paper purse which explodes with pretty papers when it is opened.  This would be a perfect Valentine or anytime gift for a dear friend.  You could also add a couple of pockets to add photos or notes.  The second project is a pocket accordion book complete with 12 pockets and pull outs.  Some ideas for the pull out outs would be coupons, sentiments, photos, or even special dates, since there are 12 of them.  I will have typed out ideas for you in class.  Please bring adhesive to include scor-tape 1/4", small pop-ups, and small paper trimmer.  All other supplies provided.

I wish I would have added to bring a bone folder or scoring tool, so if you are coming to class and read this, you might add this to your "to bring" list.  I think it would be helpful on the purse.

I love how both projects came out.  I hope you do too!

Sunday Words of Wisdom!

Hello! I think it was in 2013 I started doing Sunday posts with nice quotes or verses, but then early last year, I just stopped.  And I decided I would start that back up this year.  Today's quote of course, is one about the new year.  Enjoy!

I love how they created a wish out of each letter... so cool!

Happy New Year!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  Welcome to the first share of the new year.  I have a couple of new year cards to show you today. I will show you my card, Debbie's card, and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I thought this sketch was very simple, but then again it is a good one for when you want simple but want to add some interest too.  What do you think?

My room is horrible.  I told myself that I would get to right after Christmas so that when I got to New Years and needed to make birthday cards and class samples, the room would be clean and it would be easy to work in.  Well, the procrastinator that I am (didn't change just because it is a new year!) did not work on it.  So, now I am working on my class samples and birthday cards in complete disarray!  So, my new goal is by the end of the month,  I will keep you posted.

I am going back to doing Sunday quotes, so I will see you tomorrow!
Happy Stamping!
