Sow's Life?

Hello! Today I stamped out a couple more wood mounted stamps I recently purchased from Inky Antics and yes, you guessed right, one is a pig! And, of course, I had to make it a pink pig! I do have one quick story to tell you before I show you my card. After I finished, or at least I thought I had finished my card, I came in to watch a little t.v. and remembered that I had cut off the pig's tail when I cut out the pig and I forgot to add one. It reminded me of when I was a kid. You see my mom signed me up for an acting workshop at Casa Manana, a theatre in Fort Worth. At the end of the workshop, we did a play called the Christmas Pig and I was the pig. I didn't have a lot of lines, if any ... I guess they knew acting was not in my future! Anyway, the part I do remember is that they had me wear pink pajamas and they were supposed to have a paper tail for me. Well, they forgot my tail! A little dejavu? Thanks for letting me share this silly childhood story! As far as my pig tail on my card, I went back to my room and looked and looked for some pink wire which I never found. I decided to go with some mizuhiki paper cord - perfect! Here is my card with my pig and her tail!

I stamped the pig four times on pink cardstock and popped up the whole face, then the ears and the snout! The card is pretty silly but I think pretty cute too! Whatcha think?

Bloom!

Hello! Ever so often, when I can't decide which stamps I should go with to make a card, I decide to just create one without stamps, or in the case of today's card, just one word stamp! I saw on one of the blogs how they embossed with a couple of different folders creating a very unique card, so I cased them and created this one. I hope you enjoy it...

How do you like the little pin holding my "bloom" sentiment? A saw some a friend had and thought they would be a fun addition for my cards. They are one of the Tim Holtz's products. So, I guess that means his products don't have to be on artsy creations only! I love them and they come 30 to a pack for $3.00!

Hot Stuff!

Hello! I know I haven't posted in a few days, but I have one more for you today. With Father's Day in mind, I made a cute "man" card, but I made it into a birthday card since I didn't need another Father's Day card. If you remember, I already made a Father's Day card for my hubby last weekend when I got the dates mixed up. I don't need men cards very often, but it will nice to have one made for when I do. I used a few of my newly purchased Spellbinders dies. My little bbq dude is stamped onto a labels 6 die and then layered onto a big scalloped die. I love this combination! The pinking circles are also new!

Cow Are You?

Hello! I can hardly wait to show you my card for today! But first, I have to tell you about the stamp I am using. I am sure you have guessed I am using a cow stamp. After checking out at the Inky Antics booth at the scrapbook convention, I started looking at their stamps again, which as you know, once the purchase is made, the best thing to do, is go far away, do not keep looking! At this point, my purchases were all clear sets which is more stamps for my money. But this wood mounted cow was pretty darn cute, and then when my friend suggested paper piecing the cow with pattern paper, I was off to stand in line again to make another purchase! I also got a wood mounted pig and saying which you will see on a later creation! After I finished paper piecing and coloring my cow, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. But, fortunately, I decided to wait and see what I thought after I picked out papers for the rest of the card. I am so glad I waited! Combining those perfect papers and this week's sketch by Jen delMuro, it all came together and I think it ended up being just about one of the cutest cards I have made! Texas Tuesday is Here!

Howdy! That is a Texas greeting for this Texas Tues-Step! As you know, a while back I started participating in making "Texas" cards with a group that posts them on their blogs every 1st and 3rd Tuesdays. Even though I was making the Texas cards, I really wasn't one of the group ... until now! A couple of weeks ago, I sent a note to Libby, who is the one who started this great idea, and asked if I could join their group and she said, "yes"! I am so excited! My first group! At the end of my post, I have added the names of the other team members, so you can go to their blogs from mine and see their Texas creations too! Mark, owner of Deadbeat Designs, who you might remember from when I had the store, is one of the members, and if you don't follow his blog, you should. He is such a hoot! And to prove this point, his humor shows thru in the sentiment I used on my card, as it is one of his creations. So, let's get to my Texas card ... enjoy!

So what do you think? How do like the sentiment? Just a hoot, right? My whole card started because of the blue pattern paper I found the other day at the scrapbook store. I don't know why but the blue, tan, copper combo just said "Texas" to me! Funny how that works sometimes! They had only the one sheet left and no coordinating papers to go with it so I came home and went through my box of scrapbook paper to find some of my own papers to coordinate with it. I really love how it all came together!

Tail-Waggin' Terrific Day!

Last night my hubby asked if I had mailed off the granddaughter's birthday card. (For Jordan who will be 11). Of course, I forgot! So, I got my card done and it will go in the mail Monday. The only problem with that is her birthday is Monday. Late, yes but at least it will be on it's way. I went with a pretty simple layout and decided to go with the same polka dotted paper in two different colors. I really like the way it came out. I used a new clear set with dogs from Inky Antics. And what's funny about it is that I bought the set because I thought two of the three dogs in the set were so cute, so which one did I stamp first? Yes, you guessed it the one I liked the least! I think I have now changed my mind! You might say it is pretty doggone cute! Here the card with the cute pup... enjoy!
