Card for our Troops!

Hello!  Our Blue Star Mothers chapter packed boxes a couple of weeks ago and today's card was signed by all the ladies and added to each box.  It is a simple card but with a huge sentiment of thanks!  Donna and I worked on them at our own homes and then before we left to go to the meeting, we put the cards together.  So, my photo is not that great, but enough so you can see.  Enjoy!

I love this set of stamps from Art Gone Wild is awesome to say thank you to our military who fight for our freedom everyday!

I think I got in the last few days the cards that I made last month but had not shown you.  I am now in the middle of cleaning my stamp room so that I can work on my next class.  I know that I am gonna need room when I start pulling out all the holiday stamps and stuff!  And I continue to work on the baby book for my niece.  I need to have that finished in just a few short weeks!

See you Saturday for the share!

Get the Fire Extinguisher!

Hello! I made another over the hill birthday card for a  friend.  It is very similar to the one I did a couple of months ago, but the image is so funny, I just had to use it again!  Enjoy!

The sentiment came from another set from the same company,  It is perfect together!

I have another card for tomorrow.  See you then,

Baby Boy Romper!

Hello! I have made a couple of onesies for baby girl cards, but this time I needed a baby boy card, so instead of the onesie, I went with a romper.  The pattern I saw on pinterest had the opening of the card behind the overall part of the outfit but I decided to make my card from cardstock and only decorate the front of the card to make it look like a romper to add stability to the card.  Here is my card ... enjoy!

And the inside ... note the pink is just so the inside shape will show up for you to see it...

The onesie is so easy to make because it uses a punch to create the leg and arm holes.  This one had to have a pattern.  But I like the way it came out.  It is pretty cute, don't you think?

I will be back tomorrow with three sympathy cards, all using the same set of stamps.

See you then!

Saturday's Sketch Share (On Sunday)!

Hello!  I am back today with yesterday's share between Debbie and I.  This week's sketch is a perfect example of how two people can interpret the sketch differently.  And you will see this when I show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used. Enjoy!

The Sketch
I never saw that large space as a section to hold a large image, like Debbie did.  But, what a great idea!  She embossed her image and watercolored, quite impressive.  One thing it doesn't make the sketch as simple as I saw it.  I like my card, but it is way on the "clean and simple" side, which is not really my style.  What do you think, which interpretation do you like best?

Okay, it seems it is close to the end of the month, and I have several cards that I have made and haven't show you.  It is time to play catch up!  This afternoon I will be back with a baby boy card I made and then at least one a day until the end of the month!

See you real soon!

Saturday Sketch Share (On Sunday)!

Hello!  I am back today with the share for the week (one day late).  This week was one of the tall and skinny sketches.  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

What do you think about this week's sketch?  I think you could easily make this into an A2 card instead of the skinny version. If you did, it probably wouldn't seem so busy.  But, I do like both cards!  Love my new flower dies and Debbie's bird image just puts a smile on my face!

This is my teaching week so I am already knee deep in prepping as I want to be able to go to the Blue Star Mothers meeting on Monday night because we are packing boxes for the troops.  I still have two or three cards made that I haven't shown you, so maybe at some point this week, I can get them on here for you.

Teacher Appreciation Cards!

Hello!  Below is my post that is on The Crafty Scrapper's blog today.  I made two teacher thank you cards and a mini tutorial on how to make a pencil element ... enjoy!

I was asked to make a couple of cards for back to school.
It was real easy with the selection of papers at The Crafty Scrapper!

My first card is a pocket tag using the Photo Play collection.

This paper with the little people ... adorable!
The pull out tag is one of the 3 x 4 journaling cards from the same line.

It is kinda hard to read but it says "It takes a big heart to help shape little minds"!

For my second card, I used the Authentique line of papers.
And created my own little clipboard and pencil.

The clipboard is the topper from an Elizabeth Crafts Tag set.
I cut two, popping one on top of the other at the tip making it look like a clipboard.

The pencil is made with these elements ...

Layer them like this ...

And cut down the  sides and a pencil is created!
Easy Peasy!

Note, the "thank you" stamped sentiments on both cards came from my stash.

Thank you to all the teachers out there!  You are appreciated!

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  Today's cards show exactly why Debbie and I both do the same sketch every week because we really had different takes on this week's sketch.  The sketch is one, we both thought, at first glance, it was busy and we weren't too sure.  But, for me, after seeing what we both did, I love it!  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

What do you think?  Don't you love both cards?

I have a couple of cards to share so I will be back in a day or two.

August Class Share!

Hello!  I am here today to share with you my class cards for my next class, which is less than two weeks away!  Early this year, the store had a trunk show with Texana Designs.  I got a few of their stamps and my good friend Karolyn got a few of their stamps too, so last month when I was trying to decide what I could use for my August class, she suggested I use the Texas stamps and do my spin on them.  I guess I took this literally, because one of the cards has a spinning Texas!  You know I like a class with a theme.  So, I went with Bluebonnets and I am calling this class "Crazy for Bluebonnets!"  Here are my cards... enjoy!

First is a Double Z Card.  Last month, we did one of these, but this is a variation.  Similar but different!

One of my stamps is one that reads "Everythin' is Comin' Up Bluebonnets", so I thought an action card with action words: comin' up!  I remembered a card we had done for Easter 2015 and thought it would be a perfect for this.  The card is super simple to make, so glad to get a refresher!

For my third card, we will be doing a card I have never done before.  I have done cards with tracks so that the image slides but this one spins and spins all around the circle!   Photo was taken with the Texas stamp in a good position so you can see it, but pick up the card, and there is spinning going on!  Fun!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I have the share between Debbie and I today.  For my card this week, I made a patriotic card in honor of the military who fight for our freedom.  As you know, I am a member of the Blue Star Mothers.  On Monday we received heartbreaking news that  the president of our chapter son, who was retired Army, took his own life.  Yesterday, was the funeral and burial at the National Cemetery. I often make patriotic cards when we are sending cards to our troops but not usually "just because", but this week I was called to do it.  Please when you say your prayers, please add the Barrett family to your list.  Thanks.  Okay, now I will show you  my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used.  Enjoy!

The Sketch
I love Debbie's fun summery card.  I need a floaty!  It is HOT!  I think we both liked the sketch!  Do you?

I have to get to my class samples this week.  I was planning on working on them this last week, but I switched gears when I heard the news, because I just know that I would not be able to be creative in making class cards when I am down.  So, this last week, I worked a little more on the baby book I am making.  The main thing I found out is that I was thinking I was going to add pages with folds and pockets to a pre made book that I bought.  Early last week, I got a couple of pages made and realized ... way too thick!  So, either I have to buy some other kind of pre made book, preferably in the size that I have already cut most of the pages or change gears and make one from scratch!  OMG, that is what I am doing!  Right now it all seems really flimsy, as my chipboard is definitely lighter weight than the Prima chipboard book is, but I am hoping after all the pages are in and it is all covered inside and out, it is will be fine.  I sure hope so!

See you soon!
Try to stay COOL!
Happy Stamping!
