Hello! The Crafty Scrapper had a crop/party for the design team and teachers last Friday. We each were to make a handmade ornament for the exchange. Today, I am showing you my ornament. Unfortunately, mine was the first gift that got opened and therefore, I think it kinda got lost in the shuffle. All of the ornaments were amazing, but not made with paper, like mine. But, even though mine wasn't one that got stolen and was the hit of the party, does not change the fact, that I absolutely love how it came out! I used the Elizabeth Crafts Pop Up Tree Stand die for the tree in my little house ...let me show you ... enjoy!
A close-up of the tree ...
A side box view ...
And a view from the top ...
My original idea was to make an explosion type box, but then I thought about the hanger on top would put stress on a box that opened from the top, so I went to Pinterest to look for another option. I found this box here. I thought this cupcake box would be perfect and I saw that the top of the box could be a roof! I changed the size of her box, as I decided that the sides didn't need to be as wide, as I would only be showing the tree from the front and the back and also, made mine a little taller so that the whole tree would be seen! In my vision, I thought I would make little windows for the front and back but I quickly realized that I needed to go bigger, so plate glass windows, it was! As you can see, in the third photo, I used the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder for my outside walls. The roof was made with a scallop die and brown cardstock. The tag sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas was a perfect match. I really hope you love my ornament, even though it is kinda big, as much as I do!
Tomorrow, I am showing a tag that will be on The Crafty's Scarpper's blog. It used this same tree die set, so be sure to check it out, because I have added a print out of how to make this 3D tree.
Happy Stamping!
Tina
P.S. I am running around like a crazy woman trying to finish my Christmas cards, decorate, wrap gifts, clean house and more this week!! Just venting ... always helps!
