Ice Cream and a Big Spoon!

Hello!  Yesterday, I finished two of the cards I have been working on this week in my "shack", but found that blogger was down when I went to get them posted.  So, now I have two cards ready to show you and it is already 1 o'clock on Friday.  I will show you one card now and I will set the other to post this evening.  This coming Monday is a big birthday day, at least it is for my hubby and I!  Yes, we have the same birthday!  (He is older by 6 years).  So, today's card is his birthday card.  Let's get to it ... enjoy!

My card started out with a totally different sketch than the one I ended up with.  And different papers too.  See the circles with the happy printed paper?  I was using much more of this paper from a birthday paper pack that came from Hobby Lobby.  For some reason, this whole paper pack has a dark feel to it and it was making my whole card look dark.  So, I decided to find another sketch I liked better and then maybe I could use this paper as an accent instead of a background.  I thought of my favorite sketch, and decided it would be perfect ... and it is!  I love how it came out.  My hubby loves ice cream, especially in a big bowl!  I had picked up this fun little bowl stamp and matching sentiment stamp at the stamp convention early in the year.
See the scoops of ice cream in the bowl?  I know you assume that is on the same stamp, but it is not.  I took it from an Inky Antics birthday turtle set that included a tiny two scoop ice cream cone.  I cut it out leaving the cone off and put it in my bowl ... perfect!  What do you think?

Recipe:

Paper - Birthday Extravaganza by The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby), Green Swirl by Bo Bunny, Cardstock Green, White, Aqua
Stamps - Bowl and Sentiment by Morningstar, Ice Cream scoops by Inky Antics, Woo Hoo by Viva la Vegas stamps (this is a saying I saw often, so it was perfect for hubby's card)
Ink - Versafine Black, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Tools - Classic Circles Nestibilities
Other - Button by Bo Bunny, Linen Thread by The Cat's Pajamas, Ribbon by Creative Impressions, Rhinestones by Hero Arts

Stop back by this evening to see my next post.
Happy Stamping!
Tina
